Is there any hope for Xenoblade 3 bros?

They pandered to the ironic weeb demographic and it seemed to work. All hope is lost.

I enjoy all Xeno games.

When did 'ironic weeb' just start meaning any otaku media you don't like? It's a type of person who borrows anime aesthetics like ahegao avatars and spouts Twitter memes like thicc/senpai/trap constantly for clout and irony, not any category of game or anime. People who lack genuine passion for otaku media are ironic weebs. Any popular Japanese property in manga artstyle will attract them. JoJo is an emblematic example as its Western fans are often insufferable ironic weebs, but in Japan it's just a popular and mainstream manga that a lot of even normal people like. It doesn't speak to the quality of the material.

How? It barely affects the original, even the final boss remains the same because at this point they're separate entities.

>Tries to cover its flaws with anime cringe and coom pandering, making the game even more shit
You can't seriously believe that. If these idiots realized beforehand that everyone would endlessly whine about the Blade designs and the lack of cohesion, they would have thought twice before doing it. They unironically thought it was fine. Now tgey learned and that's why they tried to find a dedicated artist to represent their games, like Soejima is for the Persona series.

>Is there any hope for Xenoblade 3 bros?
Yes. This anon is right >>278778.
You and this anon >>278681 need to get over yourselves. Was Future Connected [Insert buzzword here]? No it wasn't, they Monolith despite being "clumsy" on some aspects knows that some things need to be consistent, in the present case, the more serious tone of Xenoblade 1. And if whatever Takahashi said is true and its a peek at the future of the series, and it having some aspects of Xenosaga then the next Xenoblade might be Xenosaga-light. Just because for once, they wanted to make a more light-hearted story doesn't mean that that's the only thing they'll do from now on goddammit. But at this point I'm convinced you're baiting.

xenoblade chronicles is the most boring game i ever got meme'd into playing
like sure yeah the world is really cool to look at and the music is good but thats all it has going for it
all the terrible side quests, the boring mmo combat, the generic story, the nonsensical generic worldbuilding (which sucks because the premise of the bionis and mechonis is kinda cool), it's all shit
>>
>>279288
Classic Final Fantasy, SMT, Dragon Quest, Breath of Fire, Lunar, Dark Cloud, Tactics Ogre, all good shit.

I remember when the Xeno fandom didn't have to deal with idiots that still don't realize that the Xeno series is anime. I don't care if you are Nintendo Fags or anti anime fags that cry's tranny the minute something has that art style, just stop being stupid. The only reason the original version "wasn't anime" was because it was on the Wii.
>>
>>278607
The sequel is better in nearly every way; excluding the characters (whom, while being better written than 1's characters, are mostly unlikable).

>Is there any hope for Xenoblade 3 bros?
Well, considering that XB2 is a sort-of reboot of Perfect Works, which is what Takahashi was trying to do and failed with XG and XS due to being screwed over by Square and then Bamco, the future for XB3 looks extremely bright now that Nintendo's letting him do whatever.

I like how XB2 brought back the complex lore and storytelling that was absent from previous Xenoblades, I just hope the tone's more serious and mature in XB3.

>positionals hardly matter.
>art variety down the drain.
>equipment variety down the drain.
>slow as fuck.
>B-BUT IT GETS BETTER 100 HOURS IN TRUST ME BRO
Cope. XC1's combat isn't even the best either, it's XCX.
>>
>>282113
XCX is the easiest of the three Xenoblades by a mile though.
>>
>>282113
>positionals hardly matter.
>art variety down the drain.
I can mostly agree with that, positionals are useful early game but stop mattering later on, and it would be cool if XC2 had the art variety of XC1, but to me XC2 makes up for it with it's combo systems and all that.
>equipment variety down the drain.
This is just false. Just because you can't see your equipment like in 1 and X (though I wish you could) doesn't mean it doesn't have variety. In 1, armor and weapons were a binary choice for the most part, if this piece of gear has better stats than your currently equipped one, you put it on. The real customization was in gems, but nearly every buff you could get from a gem is available through an accessory or an aux core in 2, with some new types added. The only ones I can think of that are missing either don't fit with XC2's mechanics (debuff gems, talent boost, etc.) or are replaced with an equivalent version (tension boosting gems vs affinity boosting aux cores). And as I mentioned before, XC2 adds new accessories/aux cores like guard annul, the elemental reflecting ones, affinity max atk/evade/block, and more.

Also this kinda goes with the last point, but blades themselves to me are both an equipment choice and a replacement of auras from the last two games. The battle skills they provide have some unique effects and you can only have one out at a time for each character, similar to auras.
>slow as fuck.
Not true, it's only slow if you don't understand it properly. You don't even have to be fully optimizing or anything to kill enemies decently fast.

There's a reason I've done three playthroughs of XC2 and the combat feels fun each time, while when I replayed XC1 for definitive edition, it's still a great game but now that I knew what I was doing with the combat it felt easy and boring at times.
>>
I didn't like the Wii original's controls. Didn't get far because fuck the Wii. Will I like Definitive?
>>
>>282532
If the controls were all you disliked, then yeah you'll like the DE.
>>
>>282388
Positionals hardly matter in 1 either. Only Backslash gets enough boosters to actually matter and it's Shulk's only real strategy. The second reason to use positionals, because it builds the party gauge, exists in both games to the same capacity.

The only thing I truly loath about XB2 is the blade summoning system. I honestly like 2 over 1 in a lot of ways, but I just hate the gotcha like system they added in. If they just added a side quest for all rare blades and got rid of common blades, then I'd revisit XB2 more often. Currently in the middle of a playthrough now. I JUST WANT NEWT FOR FUCK'S SAKE. HER SILHOUETTE HAS APPEARED LIKE 10 TIMES NOW.

Is Xenoblade 2 space opera kino like Xenosaga is?
>>
>>282767
Never played Xenosaga but I wouldn't call Xenoblade 2 a space opera. If that's what you like, without spoiling too much there is some of it in there for you
>>
>>282767
No, if you like Xenosaga you will probably hate XC2.
>>
I'm playing 1 for the first time. Was it really necessary to have Tyria or whatever her name is constantly moaning during the fight? Also I haven't been paying close attention to the story
>>
>>282767
Unfortunately no. There's plenty of parallels to Xenosaga; parallels to the zohar and parallels to zohar emulators, or character archetypes from Xenosaga and Xenogears being rehashed into newer characters, but Xenoblade 2 is mostly just science fantasy and doesn't take place in space except for a space station orbiting the world at the endgame.

KOS-MOS cameos as a rare optional character as well, and might be canon according to the artbook.
>>
I still can't believe they pronounced KOS-MOS' name wrong in XB2.
>>
>>283070
English Dub isn't canon.
>>
>>283120
Doesn't stop me from getting pissed off every time I hear some say KOZMOS on youtube.

>Amazing JRPG
The gameplay is just ok. It literally plays like WoW lite, though I will admit the story and voice acting are pretty stellar.
