Apart of his endorsement has to do with the fact that he doesn't want to be remembered as a spoiler. A lot of people spread rumors that he was a plant - they do about Trump too - but that is simply not true. Bernie and Trump are the most genuine candidates in American history. I'm led to believe that Bernie doesn't have as much disdain for Trump as he gives off. They both knew a Bernie vs Trump General Election would've benefited everybody.
