Did they do good work? Yay or Nay? Did they bring anything to your childhood experience? What was their best efforts?
Most of the stuff they contracted Bang Zoom to dub was alright. Some of their Britbong dubbing was just awfully put together though.
I've got two of their DVDs within 5 feet of me, they're alright. Not great, but not fucking dogshit either.
They got some pretty gud dubs.
Weren't you talking about the quality of the DVDs? I've never listened to the EoE and Death&Rebirth dubs, I didn't know that's what you meant.
Their Dangaioh dub is the finest thing they've ever made.
Manga Entertainment doesn't dub, they outsource to Bang Zoom.
I remember this from when Conan O'Brien went to Bang Zoom's studio and they had him dick around with Ghost in the Shell.
what is going on in this video and why the fuck is it on youtube still when it's clearly a bad porno
Their dubs were hit and miss, but they often picked up some really cool stuff. Dubs are almost universally inferior no matter who does it, but I can at least respect that they had a decent catalog of stuff they brought over.
Their End of Evangelion DVD menu was god-tier.
Probably one of the best DVD menus ever.
Other than that, eh.
The dubs they contracted to have done were either good or hilariously bad, so it kind of evens out. I still find value in the awfulness of the Angel Cop dub and the Madbull 34 dub.
The video quality of their releases were fucking garbage, though.
Watching their Macross Plus and Eva movies releases are painful.
Macross Plus looks like they used a VHS tape as a source for the DVD release, like they hooked up a VCR with composite cables to a DVD recorder.
The Eva movies are all washed out and look like shit.
Which is a shame because Manga looks like they took their time putting together the End of Eva DVD based on the cool DVD main menu screen.
It looks like they were Manga was able to get cool stuff, but Japan kept dicking them over by sending them shit video masters.
