Fellow buyfags of /a/. Is there anything you're looking forward to buying? Whats on your "to buy" list?
Next Negima volume to be released...that's it.
All I ever buy that's anime related is manga.
The big half color volumes of Dragonball and Dragonball Z
Next Negima volume here, too.
Mx0, if it comes out in Amerikkka.
ARIA DVD box sets, the last two volumes of Mai-Otome, whatever else I can spend money on...
Plus a set of anime-related CDs that are my pet project to get for now.
I need me a wallscroll
Next Negima volume and that Full Metal Panic TSR DVD box set.
So is everybody buying Negima? Why not read the scanlations?
Next Negima,Hayate, Sundome 2, Shana 3. Might pick up R+V, I hadn't even noticed it got licensed.
Next Shigurui, Akametsu, Eden, Negima, Nana, World Embryo.
We don't know.
I have the Azu 4koma compilation, the NHK light novel and the first volume of the manga in the mail. Also the tsukihime manga box, inb4 reported.
I'm waiting for Battle Angel Alita: Last Order 10
Also newest FMA and Yotsuba
Because I like supporting Akamatsu.
I want to buy the Haruhi box set of DVDs eventually, but I can't really find a consensus on a fair price.
Aria DVD Box set.
I vastly prefer reading books to scans, even though sadly enough the scans are usually equal if not better translations. Also, I refuse to own only part of a series unless it starts to suck unimaginably.
Inoue art books coming out. Go choke on a dick Miura Inoue is the best ever.
Mainly Berserk, I watched the anime, then I found 10 volumes perfect condition still in their 18+ wrapper at Hudson's for like 60 bucks, so now I'm working on the rest.
I've also been buying the DBZ season box sets, it's cropped and there are issues, but atleast the price is reasonable.
I dunno. Don't the official translations do a better job at giving each character their own personality? If you read the official Negima, you'll see a bunch of words everywhere, where as the scanlations only translate dialog and SFX.
GRIN LOGGIN DVDs
rebuild of eva
In the near future I'mma be buying the VIZBIG DB and DBZ, and the next volumes of Beck and Fairy Tail. Not sure what else I'm going to start buying, but I might buy Gintama.
In general I buy manga because it's better to read on paper, and also I can read it on the train/work/etc.
your little sister.
Yeah I don't like reading manga on the computer. I'll end up buying FairyTail even though I've already read it all.
two 1TB hard drives
I'm looking forward to getting Emma and Gurren Lagann.
Later on I'll look into getting Claymore.
Monster Princess/Princess Resurrection 1-?
Welcome to the N.H.K. 7
Eyeshield 21 - 20
Lunar Legend Tsukihime - 6
A lot of box set stuff
I haven't really compared them in depth, I just get the feeling reading a lot of releases and saying to myself "hey, I remember reading this, it was translated differently, I thought it fit better the other way." I don't have any big issues with the official translations, though.
Oh, also, there's this omnibus edition of xxxholic at my school bookstore. No one buys the manga there (because it never changes) so I'm gonna get that on Sunday.
Agreed as well. The only way to easily read manga on the comp is with a 16:10 monitor turned 90 degrees, which can be annoying.
When is Gurren Lagann even coming out? And I need to get Lucky Star's DVD too..
GL DVDs. If they don't use this cover I will personally eat their faces.
Instead of rotating your monitor, why don't you just rotate your screen... It'd make your life a hell lot easier. Anyways, I prefer reading manga on my computer since I like how picwalker has its slideshow thing.
Only lists for earlier volumes, though.
Because I don't have a monitor with a swivel, which would make it easy.
I do both.
Is it a waste of money? Yea, kinda.
Though if I was to ever really try and come up with any reasoning for buying the manga it would be that being in book like medium reads and feels better.
Also since scanlations are often done from weekly chapters they rarely get the chance to scanlate the extra/bonus content usually only found in volumes.
and why do you need it turned 90 degrees again?
I'm guessing so you won't have to scroll down or zoom in for each page.
Lone Wolf & Cub vol. 1, Me and the Devil Blues vol. 1 and Akira vol. 1. I had to order them all.
There are 25 items on my HLJ preorder list currently.
Only thing I buy straight when it's released is the School Rumble manga.
Because reading it from a book >>>> reading on the comp.
I only paid 5 bucks for my copies, which were brand spanking new. But this was before my small secondhand bookstore started selling manga at 25% of the actual price. Only a fucking fool buy mango at the actual price. Learn to bargain.
Meh, I'm selling off my Negima volumes to a secondhand Japanese bookstore that sells English translated manga as well. I got really bored at the school festival and the following arcs don't seem as interesting to me to continue on reading the series, much less buying the series even at $2.75 a volume.
I'm planning to get the next Kuroshitsuji in moon and the next volume of the next volume of After School Nightmare as well. But I kinda fucked myself since I had special ordered some books that will come up to $80. Fuck.
Next Negima volume aswell for me it's the only manga I am buying at the moment.
Because a monitor (and picture) both turned 90 degrees on a widescreen monitor is the best way to read manga on a computer without getting eyestrain.
I dislike bargaining. I buy it at its price. $10 a volume won't hurt me.
I usually can get my manga for $2 a volume new
