What was your reaction to this series only being 11 episodes and not 21 like last season?
not mad since theres a movie
I dont think there even needed to be a 2nd season.
The ending was perfect closure that left a little hanger(kanaki in some unknown place).
Maybe just a movie about that would have sufficied, I saw the first ep of the new season and it was pretty meh...
Shame it isn't 13 but whatever,
I'm fine with it because half of season 1 was ridiculous filler. Who cares about the internet avatar case? Who cares about the lesbian bitch who was killing people at her school? Gosh, season 1 had a lot of dumb stuff that went nowhere. If the season only has 11 episodes maybe they can focus better on the themes.
I felt it put a lot of time reintroducing or introducing characters for an 11 episode series.
Are we sure it isn't 2 cour?
I disagree, it really needed a second season. The ending was a huge cliffhanger and it felt incomplete. PP works perfectly as a franchise.
Judging by how the premier went it feels more like an extended OVA than an actual series. In that sense I'm fine with it.
I agree it felt incomplete but I wouldn't go that far.
but there's a movie.
It only makes me worry more that they are going to turn this into yet another inane moe shit for the purpose of milking the cashcow dry.
But, theres not many police themed chinese cartoon that comes out these day, i really like it.
I feel like it might have been better if they had made a new season about new characters.
Focusing on Akane again is problematic especially since we know this season isn't going to end in Sybil's destruction.
But maybe it's too early to tell, for all we know, this season is about Mika. I guess the way i feel is that Akane had a complete character arc, so unless this is her story of destroying Sybil, there's little place else they can go with her character.
They're closer to FBI than NYPD.
I feel disappointed and very sad. From the very beginning of the first season Psycho-Pass became one of my favorite series in all time, and then my favorite after I finished watching it. I watched it again and then watched the extended version. Already watched last week's episode 4 times. I feel in love with the series. The whole political, social and philosophical content they manage to put into it is something I love. All the subtle and not so subtle references are just amazing. The only flaw I really consider to be a problem in the first and almost certainly (even more so) in the second seasons is the shallowness of their approach on all the complex themes revolving around the world they created. You can't tell shit with 11 episodes. Well, you can, but the rushed format we saw on the first episode of the second season isn't that appropriate for an anime with so much for the spectator to digest after every episode. I wish they took their time to elaborate better the masterpiece they created, that's all. That's basically the source of my disappointment.
They should have had Akane been a recurring character or something. Same with Gino. Its obvious they wanted to show off how shes developed since PP1 but I don't think the show should become "Adventures of Akane in Dystopia".
Shes too important now to just be given mediocre jobs with crazy assholes. If they really wanted to take her story somewhere thats not the destruction of sybil they should have at least made her some high ranking GITS-esque special forces operative.
>not watching PsycoPass to watch Akane slowly but gradually turn from naive moe deskjocky to callous badass supercop
What's wrong with you?
Well, I wouldn't have had a problem with a season about the other Divisions either before or after Season 1.
I think this season probably should focus a little less on Akane exclusively since, like I said, her character is practically done until the movie comes out.
Honestly i wouldn't mind it centering around mika with gino and akane in the supporting cast. BUt theyve decided to make her akanes foil instead.
I think if Akane is going to be the focus again, they should emphasize her personal relationships with each member of her team or with people outside the team. This way, Akane is the main character, but she is used more as a catalyst to explore each of the other characters further.
Back in Season 1, I was disappointed that Akane didn't get special episodes with each character before the main plot kicked in. They could try to do a little of that here this time.
>episode 11 ends
>massive cliffhanger setup for the movie
>movie is just an unrelated case
But they are indeed the only thing we've seen close to a police force.
the first season could have been shorter, though, after they catched the guy (I suck at names) there's like 4 or so, pointless episodes that could have been crammed into 2 episodes
>for a four year timeskip
The fuck you mean 4 year timeskip you nigger?
That movie is going to be released in 2019?
That's fucking stupid
I was a bit disappointed but it's better than nothing.
Well something will have to be unresolved for a movie.
No, the movie takes place four years after the events of S2.
This pretty much sums up my reaction. Also, I'm looking forward to seeing Gino work as an Enforcer.
I have a feeling that we're going to be exploring what kind of person she's become since Kogami going AWOL, that has obviously left a massive mark on her.
