Post anime that flopped, but that you liked. No popular anime that somehow flopped like Nichijou either.
This is full obscurity mode.
How do you know it flopped?
Not sure about the "obscure" part.
Sometimes I feel I was the only one who watched Reideen.
Madhouse and Yuasa (minus TG) thread huh
Also, How hard did Nobunagun had it?
Aoi best girl.
Man Nobunagun was fun as fuck. I miss it.
Aoi a cutie pie!
Is Coppelion really as bad as everyone says?
RDG was alright.
I liked it, I think it deserved better in terms of popularity. It just had lots of forced drama but then again a lot of shows do these days
Samurai Flamenco was a flop, although it is also a cult hit on /a/
This image is making me want to comfort the girl.
If it was two or three cour it could have been a lot better. Fitting six full novels into twelve episodes was not a good idea.
Christ that was an insufferable time to be on /a/.
Reideen left quite a few lose ends, pic related. Anyone has any idea if a continuation will ever appear?
I watched it with yuri goggles it was quite fun
It was fun but it went to shit after chapter 5
>Not Sitting Down
FOR THE DEAD MAN
What was that again?
the wacky adventures of the girl who summons pans
I remember dropping it at episode 2 years ago because I thought it was stupid. I don't remember what exactly bothered me so I might give it another try.
Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san
the first and second episodes dont follow a sequence
Aku no Hana
>someone saved that Nobunagun edit I made when the show aired
Somehow it feels like a long time ago. Needs more scanlations.
Had to check the sales, 1,800 is at least below the Manabi line.
Indeed this thread lives up to that name...
Season 2 never ;_;
Yes. It feels like Scooby Doo.
Nobunagun was legit pretty bad though
the manga has a cool artstyle though, very Frank Miller
wish they adapted that
Which is weird considering that the manga is great.
I liked it.
It was kinda boring, but some of the episodes were really good. It was about as hit and miss as you get with a series of short stories. Also, I've seen a cumulative of, like, 2 threads for it since its first episode aired.
Worth it for nobu's batshit laugh.
There's a manga?
Also nice rec thread
It's pretty shitty as a rec thread, though. The anime have no relation to each other, except that most people didn't like them. It also makes the thread unfortunately slow. I can post an anime I liked, but if it was both unpopular and from a few years ago, what are the odds anyone who watched it is still on /a/ these days?
>It's pretty shitty as a rec thread
That's why I spoilered it though.
>>There's a manga?
There is but I don't remember where to get it.
A VN anime adaptation that actually justifies why a whole bunch of women want a single guy's dick and even then the show isn't about the girls
Good for only 1 watch though since it's heavily reliant on plot twists[
Fuck sales, Yura Yamato is my hero.
Last couple of episodes were complete shit, though.
RIFE ON DA PRANET up to episode 6
I thought UN-GO sold fine?
Didn't it sell like 1k or less average?
You're complete shit, fuck you.
Are you really going to defend the bizarre magic episode, and the bullshit filler?
I enjoyed it along with the 13 other anons who watched the whole thing.
>bizarre magic episode
This one? It was a good episode.
What? All filler is anime original but not all anime original stuff is filler. The anime went in its own separate direction and while the show bounced back and forth, it was a very complete character arc for Yura. Everything about the show supports that train of thought.
Woops meant this one
It was pretty bog on /a/
Was is that good?
>RIFE ON DA PRANET up to episode 6
Make that a 3 and I agree.
I don't remember any threads of this.
I'm talking specifically the last two episodes. The actual climax to the series which mostly handwaved away all the conflict with a magic campus-wide airsoft game, and the very last, which had no bearing on anything and added nothing to the series.
I like the anime overall. I think it's better than its source material. I still think the last two episodes were trash.
>It was pretty bog on /a/
Meant to say big, damn it.
>no more chicken salad
>It was pretty big on /a/
I only remember it becoming more noticed when the Silicone slut appeared. Not to say that it was an unnoticed show before her appearance.
>I only remember it becoming more noticed when the Silicone slut appeared
That's when it became big yes, I remember the OVA thread, shit was big.
>Was it that good?
Nothing groundbreaking, but comfy as fuck and actually funny. Retard moe all over the place. It had some creepy surreal moments, it felt more like a SHAFT show than a DEEN one. Lots of scenery porn.
Too bad fujos won't buy anything unless it's full of retarded melodrama.
Well, the drama peaked in the previous episode when the characters realized their wrong doings and Yura had her big introspection scene with the fox god guy. The last episode was reconciliation and took place after everyone had already thought over everything. It wasn't really handwaved, it just worked out when everyone stopped trying to force their shit on each other.
Last episode was pretty much just an OVA and for fun, I consider it separate from the series, and it doesn't even fit in the canon.
Speaking of comfy shit, soniani was pretty obscure.
The Sky Crawlers
Not sure if it flopped, but /a/ pretty much universally panned this movie when it came out. I happen to like it, though I confess I'm an Oshii fanboy.
It was rushed and full of plot holes, but compared to actual school shooting our wristcutters proposed, anything would be better.
And I liked manga more, because anime totally shitted on Sonora and Yura, and turn everything to their disadvantage, just to make Yura suffer.
Manga also went that way eventually, but everything that happened in the manga made more sense than in the anime.
