Third part of the Blue Jacket era project has been unveiled. It's a Lupin III TV series set in Italy.
What was the first two?
The recent movie and probably Fujiko Mine.
Woman Called Fujiko Mine and Jigen Daisuke's Gravestone.
Fujiko Mine wasn't blue.
>Woman Called Fujiko Mine
He was wearing a green jacket though
When does the movie come out?
Gr8 b8 m8
Because it's a prequel series.
Who's the director?
I swear if it;s that one person
Kind of hoping it's the same studio/team that did Fujiko Mine. I enjoyed it.
Fujiko Mine was good.
Miyazaki Lupin fans please fuck off.
>Fujiko Mine was good.
It will probably dubbed in Italian, since Rai don't do subs
I'm Italian and since the series will premiere on the Italian Mediaset broadcasting company all I can say is that I hope it will air on an HD channel. But the chances are low. Enjoy your shit 480p rips.
It won't air on Rai, it will air on RTI, alias Mediaset. Probably Italia2, the same channel where Fujiko Mine aired before.
yeah, misread rti as rai. damn
but yes, ti will probably be Italia 2
Why isn't this a sticky yet? It's fucking Lupin, for god's sake!
What is the best Lupin special and why is it Crisis in Tokyo
Is Lupin that huge in Italia ?
Awesome. Looking really forward to this.
Fingers crossed for Koike
I love that promo art.
Looks inspired at the very least, Lupin's eyebrows are more conventionally thin though.
GOD I'M HYPED.
Yes, everybody and their mother knows Lupin.
>good-looking live action movie
>an actual anime series in a long time
Grand time to be a Lupin fan.
I just read this and ran here. How is there no shitstorm?
too many moefags, people don't care about good anime anymore
Mods are fags, this should be worthy of a sticky.
Did everyone really hate Fujiko's anime?
I kinda liked it: Zenigata fucked Fujiko
It's popular to pretend to hate Mari Okada.
Eh it was okay.
Just tried a bit too hard to be gritty.
I hated it. Zenigata the good cop fucked Fujiko.
>Zenigata fucked Fujiko
Picked the fuck up. I wanted him to get at Fujiko since the 80's.
Oscar did nothing wrong.
>It's popular to pretend to hate someone who is terrible wut?
I want red jacket lupin
Red jacket is best lupin
I don't think anyon did, it just ended up extremely underwhelming for what it promised.
>seriously implying Nagi no Asukara wasn't AOTY 2013
>I don't think anyone did
Thanks for the laugh
Dropped in 2nd ep.
That reminds me, Where the fuck are my Gravestone of Daisuke Jigen subs ??
Still over a month until it comes out on bluray.
>France in charge of original composition
Lupe must be very happy to hear.
It was good.
It was in the early promo art, but not in the show.
Your tastes is shit
Kazuhide Tomonaga as chief director eh, this might be interesting. It seems to be his debut as a chief director.
>Tomonaga wants to make an exciting animation that is realistic yet sprinkled with fantastic elements. Furthermore, he wants to depict a Lupin in which conflicting elements coexist — hard-boiled yet comical, cool yet tongue-in-cheek.
>Chi lo sa che faccia ha, chissà chi è
Fuck kyoanus, this is the shit!
NEW LUPIN. SUPER HYPED. LUPIN A BEST.
>Play it up like she has some dark past that would actually make her character interesting for once
>Final minutes of the series
>Nah, truth is I really am nothing more than a big, greedy whore after all!
And despite the back story intrigue she was still a boring character. Face it, Fujitits filled her role in the original series, but she was never main character material. And it says something when the most interesting episode in the Mine Fujiko series was the one about Lupin and Jigen hijinks inside a pyramid.
I remember when I was young and I adored Lupin but my mother didn't want me to watch it because she thought is wasn't good for children.
Did the live-action movie ever get subbed? I wanna watch it.
It's not going on RAI but on RTI\Mediaset.
They bought the life-long rights for... apparently everything Lupin.
Yes, life-long rights. I think Japan gave them as a gift after the 100th re-air.
It recently came out in August the 30th. so, you won't be expecting the movie until at least 2 more months.
Fuck. And nyaa is down at the moment, so double fuck.
>not the Best O-pening
We will slave you, we will rape your soul
I wonder if the Lupin vs Conan is out.
That opening is great, the female voice is so damn sexy.
No it's not.
As an Italian, i'm way more hyped than any of you
>Fujiko Mine was good.
>Miyazaki Lupin fans please fuck off.
Fuck, now I really need to finish Lupin III. Just have to watch the 50 episode series. Here's hoping we get 50+ episodes. Hot damn, I'm extremely excited that this new Lupin is wearing my favorite color
I liked the first episode and the pyramid one. That's it really.
It's not, huh. Fucking /a/, lying to me.
IS THE KOIKE MOVIE OUT YET?
He's a nice man
Another image. Hope it strikes a nice balance like the some of the better Green Jacket eps.
What's the meaning of the jackets?
I really needed to get around to watching, but don't even really know where to start.
Try season 1 episode 1
This sounds great. I'm always up for more Lupin. Despite /a/'s hate for it, I actually really liked The Woman Called Fujiko Mine.
Na, Green Jacket is the best.
Lupin Part I, II, and II, then the TV specials and then the movies.
is that Palazzo vecchio?
With the first series, retad
Shut up retad
>Fujiko Mine was good.
It had a few great standalone episodes (namely ones that didn't focus on Fujiko), but the majority was garbage.
>It's not directed by koike
Into the trash it goes
Try a couple episodes of the original series, just remember that the first few episodes are somewhat rough. You can also dive right in to the higher budget stuff like Castle of Cagliostro or Fuma Conspiracy. The Secret of Mamo and the third series are interesting too, but you'll have to keep an open mind about how wacky it gets.
Fucking fuck yes holy fucking motherfuck yes
This is shaping up to be a good year not to kill yourself
that's a San Marino plat, on the Abarth.
Polizia's car seems like Subaro, when usually italian police have an Alfa 159. color is also reversed
the San Marino police uses Subarus.
So it's likely a San Marino scene.
If they can keep it realistic by having people in Italy actually speak Italian while Lupin and his group speak Japanese, I will be happy and commend them for doing so.
But anon I am Italian too.
Loving the designs, feels like just the right balance for a new series.
>walk out of the villa and yell out "HEEY RUPAN!"
>hear a distant "LO SO!"
Feels damn good that the news has spread over here.
The jackets' color corresponds with each era of Lupin III. Green, Red, Pink, Blue
In che città è Palazzo Vecchio?
>I actually really liked The Woman Called Fujiko Mine.
yes, it's San Marino
Internet exists, anon.
Why do I feel like learning Italian after this? Is it hard?
>In che città è Palazzo Vecchio?
>having people in Italy actually speak Italian while Lupin and his group speak Japanese
Multi-lingual anime just doesn't happen dude. Give it a rest.
If you're lucky, you might get a few random scenes that tell you they're not speaking the same language all the time like in Space Bros.
Or do you want Italian VAs trying to speak moon? Because that sounds like a terrible idea.
If you're familiar with any other Latin-derived language, no.
If you're just a dumberican, maybe.
Italian is relatively easy.
And there are tons of anime and comics waiting for you to read them.
Is this a joke?
do as italians to it: read Topolino
Lupin&co aren't dumbreicans, so they speaks Italian fluently.
Come on man, my family works at small fashion company. not my fault, I'm just excited.
What do you recommend?
Guess I'll go for this first.
Italian version will be full Italian dubbed if it's running on mediaset first
he might have translated the question with Google Translate.
There is something wrong with this post. Can you spot it?
Yes bur I like to speak with you more.
I'm always serious.
Lupin is French, so he'd be familiar enough to learn it. Goemon, on the other hand...
>Stardust Crusaders for the rest of Egypt
>Lupin for Italy
What the fuck are you talking about?
Please, I bet you know nothing about the place where I live.
So wait is this some shitty Italian thing trying to be anime like what those frog bastards do or a real anime that takes place in Italy and is going to air in Italy at the same time?
The second one. Did you even read the link?
If it's the former, I'll watch it, but I won't like.
If it's the latter, I'll watch it, and I'll like it.
yea, he's either faking being Italian or he's faking NOT being Italian
>Goemon, on the other hand...
Goemon, Jigen and Fujiko all have travelled enough they must have picked up it at this point.
Really, travel enough and you WILL learn at least some Italian. It's like Italians are everywhere.
What is the appeal of Lupin?
I've never cared for the series.
Kazuhide Tomonaga was the animation director on Fuma Conspiracy (as well as some famous US stuff like Batman TAS Feat of Clay II.) With luck we'll get a decent dose of TMS cartoony action.
Every time I'm getting ready to kill myself, Japan finds a way to stop me.
Fuck you, Japan.
Kazuhide Tomonaga is one of the best animators ever.
He's way, way too old to be doing animation though, you won't get him. Unsure what sort of staff they'll bring in for the animation side, can't infer anything from the key visuals
What the fuck is up with Jigen?
Utsunomiya seems to be hanging out at TMS lately, maybe he'll do some key animation?
Really? It's so fucking Quality, I thought Jigen just had a fake mannequin.
She sure must have had weird experiences with Italians
>not Funny Mexican Boy Tricks (...).jpg
What the fuck? Why don't I remember this at all. I remember the scene but not what she said even though I'm Italian myself.
She met Berlusconi 200 years ago, when he still middleage.
The cels were placed out of order
2015 is gonna be pretty good so far.anyone made a list to not kill yourself in 2015?
Did anyone else realize the lupin banner is gone? I just realized a ton of banners I remember seeing are gone. Did moot stealth remove some?
Which Lupin banner?
The faggot should add mine.
The S1 part where the money rains behind him as he laughs.
>namely ones that didn't focus on Fujiko)
>series all about Fujiko
He fucking removed that? It was gold.
what movie, the live action one? your not counting the conan one, are you?
A goofy master thief and his cohorts traverse around the world to steal the world's riches and have adventures ranging from the fairly straightforward to the extremely weird.
At it's best it is the quintessential fun anime.
The soundtracks are fucking amazing too.
The art for Mine Fujiko was nice but the story was fucking weird. Hated Oscar, didn't make sense for him to tag along after Zenigata. I have no clue what they were trying to go for.
This looks like it could be the more fun Lupin I grew up on watching, hoping it's good. Interesting he has a blue jacket now.
>Zenigata looks comical again
Already picked up.
Bump this shit to page 1, where it belongs.
It was all for the homolust drama.
I just found it hilarious that Oscar would get upset at Fujiko when Zenigata obsesses over Lupin. Shows how much he knows about his husbando.
I remember when people were hyped for Fujiko.
Seriously, how is this not sticky worthy? Lupin is a national treasure of japan, and a real series hasn't happened since the 80s.
/a/ does not give a shit. Stickies are used as containment threads, not as a measure of quality.
I remember when people were hyped for a Lupin III series but then became disappointed because it was focused on Fujiko.
That said, I don't think it was all that bad. I just wish it could have been a bit more tongue in cheek. As it was it was just really not fun to watch.
Sure but in this case it should be used to teach newfags what Lupin really means.
I remember when people were hyped for Tytania as anime of the decade
>Sure but in this case it should be used to teach newfags what Lupin really means.
Since when has /a/ ever been about "teach[ing] newfags"? Are you fucking joking?
But will they learn to pronounce it correctly?
I just don't understand why you would even put homolust drama in fucking Lupin. I'm not a homophobe but it just felt like it was done for a shock effect for no particularly good reason.
Enjoy your announcement thread about a new Lupin series that gets no replies and 404s in half an hour.
Seems like you're fine with it.
More like people are wary after the last Lupin TV series.
So will Lupin loop through every colour of the spectrum until he finally reaches enlightenment and wears the white jacket?
Me neither. Comical homolust is superior and Lupin III has that in spades already.
Because it was written by a woman.
>Lupin becomes middle-aged
>wear is a white Jacket
>turns out to be pic related
I hope you're just pretending.
We're you not here when The Woman Called Mine Fujiko was airing?
I hope you realize that if the thread is still alive it's because a couple of people, myself included, kept it alive for a long period of time, surely not thanks to /a/ users.
>people are too stupid to differentiate between two different works
Am I supposed to feel empaty for such a stupid userbase?
Someone should pat you on the back for doing such a good job.
I rike it.
Lupin had an amazing penis all along.
Clearly you weren't then. The threads were actually a lot of discussion not about the Fujiko series.
Also, it's ALL Lupin you stupid faggot.
>Jigen is alive
Fucking spoil that shit.
>Am I supposed to feel empaty for such a stupid userbase?
If you feel that we are stupid, why are you still here? you've shown that you haven't lurked on /a/ enough and forget that Lupin threads were always a thing here.
Hell, a fucking anon pointed out that one of the banners were gone
>seriously expecting him to die
Also this could be a prequel to that.
What the fuck are you on about? Are you trying to imply that Lupin fans aren't the same people who watched Fujiko?
I wonder if it'll be quasi-episodic like Fujiko Mine, a bunch of seemingly unrelated heists building towards something huge.
I thought we were talking about the effect that that series had on this announcement.
Are you the userbase? Are 50 people the userbase? No.
I'm here because this is the best place for info and to discuss anime and manga. That doesn't make it any less shit.
What are you even going on about?
>Are you the userbase? Are 50 people the userbase? No.
Are you the user base? do you speak for the user base?
>I'm here because this is the best place for info and to discuss anime and manga. That doesn't make it any less shit.
Then why the fuck DON'T YOU MAKE MORE THREADS INSTEAD OF WHINING.
I'm tired of babies like you. "Why isn't "x" talked about much here? x is the greatest thing ever, you have shit taste /a/!"
You bring no attention or desire to make a thread, for all we know, there could be people who haven't seen this one.
will there be owls?
this is very important
Hope not. That shit was retarded.
on the other hand it got me that image, which made it all worth it
Way to miss the point.
Will it have rape?
you're an idiot bitch faggot
I watched it because it didn't have censorship on the TV airing. Lucky to find uncensored airings these days.
No need to be upset.
What exactly was your point?
>white knight DEEP fags btfo
Who are you quoting?
Manga translation never. What the fuck, people?
Watched my first movie when i was 5 or 6 years old
>And it says something when the most interesting episode in the Mine Fujiko series was the one about Lupin and Jigen hijinks inside a pyramid.
That and the painted lady episode, which ironically threw Fujiko's character in her face
Or at least somebody tearing apart and scanning the licensed English ones.
The guy initially tried to justify the lack of interest in this announcement with the fact that the last series was a disappointment and I responded that not being able to differentiate between two things is stupid and implied that I don't give a fuck if normally this wouldn't be a sticky-worthy thread, it should be stickied exactly because the userbase, not few lupinfags, are that stupid.
TokyoPop had shit translations, someone really needs to redo the series.
That tells us nothing.
Lupin was always good and you should watch the movies if you haven't yet
I just realized I'm going to watch a real televised lupin as it airs in my lifetime.
that's what we said last time, anon
But you responded to me pointing out that there was a lot of Lupin III discussion when there was a series airing. Surprisingly a lot of it not actually about the Fujiko anime. A lot of us were watching the other TV series and movies.
But yeah, that guy is a faggot. There'll be a dedicated thread, but it'll probably be a bit slow moving and chill.
Why anyone would want to read that shitty translation? I don't want people to suffer through that.
I hope it is set in the 60s-80s rather than modern times.
Why is Lupin a chimp though
He's a cheeky monkey
I think she could have been interesting if the series was written to be a more comedic dissection of the character. Basically, not at all like what we actually got.
>monkeys like to steal shit
Yeah but we were discussing the lack of interest of this news not how much discussion the franchise had while Fujiko Mine no Onna aired.
monkeys are complete assholes
Slow down, man. I only JUST found out this was happening.
Proboscis are pretty chill, despite being made fun of on /pol/ all the time
The discussion was, in so many words
>Enjoy your dead threads when the show comes out
>They weren't when Fujiko aired
And then it went in some other direction.
pretty sure that's how you get the 'bola
It's his appeal.
pretty sure that's how AIDS caught on
>when the show comes out
I meant this one, the announcement thread.
I'd expect a thread like this to reach the bump limit in half an hour, in a normal world.
Hot Monkey Dick
Kazuhide Tomonaga is that legendary animator who worked with Hayao Miyazaki in the Cagliostro movie in 80s. Recently he was also mentioned in Blue Blazes live action drama as "legendary anomator". What's surprising is that he is 62 now and one of the board members of the animation company, but still draws every day and now he is the director of Lupin. It's like Walt Disney directs the newest Mickey Mouse movie.
Still haven't read the manga. Maybe this will spur a new scanlation effort.
You mean Ub Iwerks, pleb
This will be the Cowboy Bebop of our generation.
How much shitposting would Bebop get if it first airred today?
Hopefully. Tokyo pop's releases look like ass and they are never going to get reprints.
Or scanning effort period. Don't even think the original manga is available online in its entirety.
Basically Space Dandy.
Have you seen the Green Jacket series?
Cowboy Bebop? More like Cowboy Beflop
Or something like that, I'm rusty in my shitposting
so i'm completely new to this series, is watching the previous generations before this starts required to know what the fuck's going on, or just merely a good idea?
There isn't really a story bro
>Just tried a bit too hard to be gritty.
Have you seen the Green Jacket series or read the manga?
Not really. Lupin's one of those shows where you can jump in just about anywhere and be fine. Fujiko Mine has an overarching plot, but the rest of it usually doesn't.
Each series also has a bit of a different tone than the rest, so most people have their preferences.
Green and Fujiko are gritty
Red is the more fun one
And Pink is just kind of out there
Those manage to offset the grittiness with humor.
They also do grittiness far far better.
Speaking of the manga. I kinda wish that the chapters about Lupin when he was young would get an animated adaptation.
>They also do grittiness far far better.
Definitely, but I didn't think The Woman Called Fujiko Mine did it poorly.
But here's the thing. Space Dandy had a lot of stigma simply because it came saddled with the fact that its pedigree and Adult Swim/Toonami premier meant it could attract undesirables.
Now if Cowboy Bebop didn't exist until 2014? Toonami in its turn-of-the-century form is a long time gone so your /v/-core lists have been long codified. Keep in mind it had a really strong reception on both sides of the Pacific when it did air.
I think the bigger issue is that there was only a scant amount of humor in the series.
It really could have used more moments like Lupin's face on the Grande Odalisque.
He is better than actual BetaMC in any anime.
More Jigen? Count me in.
It's interesting that he's very hit or miss with women, barring his rapist tendencies, especially compared to contemporary protagonists.
Other anime will have the MC just kind of passively exist and the romance fall into place, and any other guys in the show that express interest in women can only be treated as a non-threatening joke.
But Lupin can try, express his libido and be shot down or even taken advantage of without getting flustered by the mere presence of a woman.
I hope that quality carries over into the new series.
I thought that maybe the movie was going to be a last hurrah for Jigen's VA after 45 years of voicing the character. Seemed like an appropriate place to end it, but I suppose they'll still bring him back for this.
I dont know how I feel. I didnt think I would ever get to see a "real" Lupin as it aired.
Last time you said you'd call Sears.
And also fucking Mari Okada was the lead writer, holy shit whose terrible idea was that, why does she still get work
>mfw I still haven't seen the Castle of Cagliostro
Is it worth it?
I'd say yes.
Yeah, but it's not the best Lupin. It's also has more in-common with Miyazaki's other works than other Lupin works. Watch the 1st series as well.
Yes. Enjoy what is essentially a Ghibli film minus the old fuck trying to force his shitty agendas on you like usual.
>Not already being onboard with the ideas of "War is bad, but often more complicated than we make it out to be" and "Flying is fucking sweet"
well, alright then
First 6 episodes are good the rest are really bad
Great music and a good first half.
Didn't like how it went really dark at the very end
I'm talking about his environmental ramblings, genius.
Such a difference.
I think that is the perk of being a character established long before the demand for virginal protagonists even existed.
On a semi-unrelated note, I think most of the Lupin III fans I've spoken with in the past have been women.
Fucking reddit man.
>Miyazaki Lupin fans please fuck off
>not liking Green Jacket
You ain't my nigga.
Can I be your nigga?
Goemon best girl.
So what are the chances of us getting a Lupin VII anime at some point? That dubless pilot was golden.
Probably none. Goemon in the samurai space suit was great, though. I could totally see them making a movie based on the pilot and it doing well, but they probably wouldn't take the chance that it would fail.
Never. We are lucky that TMS put out the pilot so nobody ever has to watch the deteriorated VHS copy again.
Well...There was also apparently a manga. Somebody could find that I guess.
I enjoyed it very much. Guess I'm in the minority here. I'm a bit of a fanboy for the series as a whole though.
Been out. Check it.
So hyped for this!
When Fujiko wasn't around, it was a pretty cool show. Unfortunately, Fujiko was the star of the show.
I liked her in the train episode because it felt, well, actually like Fujiko.
Second comment sounds like /a/.
And why the fuck would anyone here care? If I did, I'd post there instead.
The original were pretty bad, but the Shin manga series are alright. Unfortunately they never completed it and dropped it after volume 9. I have all of Tokyopop's stuff, so I can definitely vouch for it.
Favorite Lupin tracks?
I love Super Hero, but this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXucEYwOXc4
Green jacket is my favorite. There are moments where it really feels like I know which parts miyazaki had more control in.
>that promo art
Literally cumming everywhere
Italy → TV series is scheduled to premiere in Spring 2015.
Japan → To be determined
Why they do this to us???
yeah, the worst parts
So is this italian languaged? Is italy co-funding like how big o, space dandy, and the second season of GITS was?
Kobayashi Osamu confirmed he's doing storyboard/episode diredtion for the series.
No biggie, i'll sub Eng it for you guys if nobody else is doing it.
Regardless of how badly they did the original manga I still bought it. I never did get around to getting Shin Lupin, though.
>Nagi no Asukara
That's good to know. Did he also say Hisao Yokobori is the show's character designer?
Yep. He also said he animated (all ?) that Jigen bike commercial, which is something I'd been wanting to know for a while.
That movie is snot that bad.
Put on a trip so we know you to yell at when you flake out.
It was a bit of silly fun.
Oh shit, i better start to understand how subbing works then.
But i doubt it'll be much of a feat, since i'm native italian.
Is subbing so stressful?
Zenigata is atrocious and there is no Goemon but other than that it was good.
Also, the song the nun assassins sang was catchy as hell.
Best girl list: Jigen> Goemon > Zenigata > Lupin > Fujiko
fujiko miine was so so for its actually plot and the ending was kinda shit
the art style, direction and each stand alone episode minus oscars were pretty good
the plot for fujikos identity is shit though
I'm interested with this too-
Wut. Interesting. Will watch it sometime later.
I wont stand for it.
A little perspective correction. probably still off
>in a shitty fiat 500
It's not an ordinary Fiat 500, it's the Abarth version.
As always MC is the worse.
It's his slightly more reasonable classic car.
Is S1 really that good? Ep1 was a bit boring, and feels more Bond than Lupin. Weird.
I feel like the show would have been a lot better if the plot was like the cute and wacky hijinks of Oscar and Fujiko.
Around the first three episodes are pretty misleading.
Then it becomes awesome.
It also has one of the best soundtrack I have ever seen
Daily reminder Italy has MADE official made-in-Italy Lupin III comics for years
I once saw Castle of Cagliostro.
Was pretty okay. Not sure why Lupin III is such a huge fucking deal for some people. I guess because it's been around for fucking ever and so greybeards follow it like Star Trek?
It's fun projecting, right?
Meant to quote >>115312029
Too bad the best Lupin's italian dubbers are deaths
Has anyone told mr-famicom yet?
I don't want to hear any italian shitdub, I want japanese
>Lupin II part IV
fucking yes, holy shit yes.
as long as it doesn't go full on retarded quality like part III did then it will be great.
He's totally in as art director.
he was an animation director and character designer on Fujiko, probably the same this time.
Hisao Yokobori is the character designer.
I always thought that Lupin enjoys to put on the act of raping etc., he's more of a serious guy that just loves to fool around most of the time.
What a bummer.
I bet you also think that a journalist should be impartial.
There's nothing wrong about his agendas either, if you're not a stupid fuck.
It's fine. Maybe it wasn't his fault but I don't think Koike's Lupin has turned out that well.
Yokobori is a good animator and the key visual looks good. Hopefully they will have a better schedule this time.
With Yokobori on board, hopefully he can animate some car chases. He's pretty good at that sort of thing.
RUPAN. RUPAN. RUPAN, RUPAN, RUPAN DA TURD.
All bashing is on how story was focused on Fujiko, plot and everything that followed that decision. Art is praised by practically everyone.
>It also has one of the best soundtrack I have ever seen
Really? I mean I knew Lupin was a nice man but I didn't need to hear it every other episode
The worst part of this shit is that it will probably air in SD with a starved bitrate on Italia2 like Fujiko Mine no Onna did.
Enjoy your shit rips, if you'll ever be able to get them in the first place.
I say this as an Italian.
Oh, enjoy your cencorship.
Yeah, the "Kappa Boys" did, I don't remember if Monkey puch was involved at all. Monkey Punch has a long-time hard on for Italy, that's probably why he permitted that.
I take it you know nothing about the 60's and 70's at all, uh?
nice guy means lady killer in japanese.
>hating on based french cartoons
Someone should tell r9k.
>franchise made of hundreds of episodes, countless movies and ova
>he watches one movie and wants to criticize the whole thing
You are the cancer of this world.
Too bad, this is all you'll get >>115315042
Hopefully it'll just be good ole' fun Lupin, and not the pseudo-deep bullshit they tried with Mine Fujiko. Such a shame that such a great art style was wasted on so many dull episodes.
Way to be an presumption bastard.
I'm 23 and I think most Lupin is probably better than your favorite anime, faggot.
Ehhh, as disappointing Mine Fujiko was as a whole, there are some great standalone episodes.
Also, the pseudo-deep bullshit your talking about isn't that great of an argument against Mine Fujiko when Green Jacket is a common fan favorite.
CAVERNADIPLATONE sei una testa dde cazzo.
Non si parla al di fuori di 4chan, soprattutto su jewbook.
Aww shit. I better hurry up and power through the series so I can watch this as it airs.
If you want to get into new Lupin, just watch Fujiko Mine and wait for the Daisuke Jigen movie.
If you want to get into classic Lupin, you don't even need to watch the looooooong TV shows. There's plenty of movies and specials.
I recommend watching the first Lupin TV series, Green Jacket, as your first Lupin experience.
It's 23 episode it's dark and black humor with the of slapstick-y gags near the end is the perfect blend of the great quality that is Lupin.
Then I would say watch literally anything Lupin related in any order.
I dislike Pink Jacket, season 3, overall, but even that can be enjoyable.
I only know of the original Lupin books.
How does it feel compared to it ?
I feel like this Lupin is more goofy than the super suave and ironic ancestor.
I liked when Lupin the first makes fun and tease Ganimard (the cop that is always trying to arrest him). Hopefully this one delivers.
Everything is right in the world for me after this news.
To be honest it's probably going to be super mediocre and nobody will really care after few episodes.
Almost all remakes of old hits are like that. Most of these series were actually very mediocre and people only still love them thanks to nostalgia. Making cashgrab remakes is only going to kill that love.
Go suck his withered, old balls you faggot. I don't need to be force-fed HUMANS BAD, NATURE GOOD all the time.
>Most of these series were actually very mediocre and people only still love them thanks to nostalgia.
You've never watched Lupin, have you?
Hopefully they will choose a better channel to broadcast the show, and there will be no censorship unless it gets aired on mediaset.
Please let me hope.
Lupin III is a fair bit more comedic in style then Arsene lupin but both have their good points and there are throwbacks to him as well.
I did. Ages ago when I was like 14. It's a fun show when you are a kid and still fun to watch from time to time just to enjoy the silliness.
But if you think a new Lupin season can be a big success you are very wrong. Maybe if they manage to make it really good, but I doubt it.
Goemon was super moe in fujiko.
I bet the fangirls love him. He's like a dream husbando.
>fair bit more comedic
When people want to show someone how ridiculous anime can be they often use Lupin.
It's one of these series where physics don't exist.
Who cares if it's popular. Anime fans these days have awful taste. As long as it's good, and the team behind it seems to suggest it will be, I could care less. Why do you think it's airing in Italy first? Italy is one of the few left countries with taste when it comes to Chinese cartoons.
did you seriously just type that and then add a Madoka picture and from the THIRD Movie no less? the fan service movie made to set up more cash grabs later on?
>Call new Lupin a cash grab
>Post Madoka Rebellion image
Lasciamo perdere il shitposting ma per caso dicendo che quel ciccione rincoglionito lurka /a/?
The fact that lupin together with mazinger, The Rose of Versailles, hokuto no ken etc. had such a influence to change their culture; make the decision more reasonable.
I would ask for Italian translations of the Lupin manga, but a three-pass translation would probably end up just as bad as TokyoPop's.
Please leave italian outside of 4chan, 2 years ago there was a lot of shitposting related to italian's threads.
Te lo dico da italiano.
Look at yourself and then tell me you're not part of the cancer that ruins the world.
This. This so much.
No one cares about the economical success, retard, we just want the good old Lupin.
Do I have to remind you that SAO and Fairy Tail are extremely popular, not to mention Seo's works.
Italy has taste only when it comes to Lupin and oldfag cartoons.
>Mazinger, The Rose of Versailles, Hokuto no Ken, etc.
Like I said, they have taste.
They said that they will take a different approach and do the series more faithful to what manga Lupin is.
Well, that is what people tend to say about 4chan posters.
no more new info but this is an official site.
Another example, in Italy the last Harlock movie grossed more than 5 million of euros.
>no Roberto Del Giudice
>no Sandro Pellegrini
>no Enzo Consoli
Just as hard as learning spanish. It's just not worth it if you're going to learn it only to watch a Lupin cartoon.
And they're fucking out of print now. I found only one volume at Cartoomics last year.
Is the problem with their release tied to censorship, or is it just a lousy print?
You mean a great and incredibly successful cashgrab movie?
If you think this new Lupin series is going to be good and not something on the level of Sailor Moon Crystal you are just lying to yourself.
Brace for deep and serious Lupin. It's going to be a joke.
Anon, I have some very bad news for you. Unfortunately.
>Sailor Moon Crystal
>Keep using madoka
Anon do you really need to troll this much ?
So liking SAO, Naruto and old mecha crap is what /a/ calls taste these days?
Normally I type in English but sometimes the occasion requires the use of the Italian langauge, as I thought it was the case for that post.
>Using Crystal as a comparison
Anon, you don't have a clue what you're talking about. Kindly fuck off.
So even you think Miyazaki is right.
I've translated this Kon story from Italian, a kind anon corrected my mystakes and adapted it, the fact that I had two different Italian translations helped a lot, though.
Shit, this reminds me that I still haven't uploaded it on Batoto.
Read the books, animefags.
Fuck yes, always happy for more lupin.
Rate my taste.
>how to easily get good ratings.jpg
Pretty odd choice to put it there as well.
Nobody cares enough to waste so much time.
You can bet this is going to get like one 100 posts thread per episode when it's airing and that's it.
Are you retarded? From the two images we have now you can already tell this is on a completely different level than Crystal.
This one has a larger budget than Fujiko, it's actually being funded by foreign money. It's airing first in Europe (Italy, then France).
Honestly, Leblanc is pretty damn great.
Manga doesn't count, italy get most of the good shit, even the obscure one.
San Marino is pretty much Italy and it's somewhat close to Venice and Florence.
Lupin with a higher budget can only be a good thing.
Look at Crystal threads back when it was first announced and call me again.
An adaption of the Leblanc stories would be better, still.
Most of the EU is like that.
Budget doesn't mean shit, it's Lupin.
I care more about the talent working on it.
When will you comprehend that monkey punch's lupin is a completely different beast ?
Being funded by foreign money don't mean a higher budget at all.
He's Leblanc's Lupin's grandson and much less competend that his grandfather.
GUYS, GUYS, WHAT IF... WHAT IF THEY SET AN EPISODE IN THE ACTUAL CASTLE OF CAGLIOSTRO?
I've visited it.
Do you even know what you're talking about?
Your face when next Berlusconi founds a new series of Dragon Ball.
Nah,just look at the prom images. They are probably trying to make him more like manga Lupin
>So even you think Miyazaki is right.
That was a joke anon. I know, truly a foreign concept in this world that knows only of trolling and shitposting. But fine, nature is good and humans have ruined some of it. In other breaking news, grass is green and water is wet. But if every time I spoke to you you felt the need to tell me about the miracle of wet water, I'd tell you to go fuck off already with your same, tired spiel. I don't need you repeatedly stating the obvious when I already get beaten over the head with it at every turn. I just want to watch some chinese cartoons.
I was merely talking about my personal taste as an Italian, even I know that we have shit taste as a whole. Like any other public on the planet, let me add.
>people seriously keep thinking this is going to be sailor moon crystal levels of terribad when the primary reason for why it was complete shit was Toei
>implying toei is working on this.
0/10 see me after class.
But the point is that you can choose what to see, just because you're tired of a concept you can't call a product that uses it bad.
No thanks the last 2 where really shitty.
You got the first part wrong and the late right.
Those are your personal tastes as an individual, nationality means nothing anon.
And yes, those are decent tastes.
Good thing I never once said that then. Not liking one aspect doesn't mean I have to dislike the whole product.
But everyone is influenced by its environment.
If you can find the Shin manga series it's definitely worth checking out. The print job and art style are much better.
Great news, it will be fun to see him in Italy as he's one of the greatest and most beloved anime heroes over here.
>But everyone is influenced by its environment.
And so what ?
You are still yourself, there's no reason to identify yourself with a group of people that come from your same country; do it as an anon.
I can already see Lupin hang gliding from here.
>And so what ?
>You are still yourself, there's no reason to identify yourself with a group of people that come from your same country; do it as an anon.
Hope you undestand this is an oxymoron.
Upload that shit nigga, we need more Kon. Illuminati Manga wants to work on some more Kon as well.
It's in the archive. Let me search.
I've posted it but no one gave a fuck.
OP can't bump their own threads, it probably just fell off before someone noticed it.
Very fine, good sir.
May I recommend Heureka?
It's sort of a prototype to Historie. Very good read.
Here's a picture of carefully selected books from my shelf, not that I also have shelves full of tasteless porn and mindless shounen manga... which I do.
at least I get to watch it directly on tv.
Oh wait I don't have a tv anymore
I was waiting for the typeset version, I read it in the archive and then forgot about it because I thought you were doing more chapters.
fucking youtubers ruining the internet ever since pewdiepie became famous
This is the thread made by the kind anon who typesetted the thing.
I've read Heureka but it's not published in Italy.
Sei invitato a casa mia, ho un plasma da 42 pollici.
He's plenty competent, just less popular with the ladies and goofier.
>Looking at my shelf
>Remember when I had to sell my entire collection of JoJo because I couldn't find a job
>First Star Comics edition
At least I still have some old stuff like Shadow Lady and DNA²...Forgive me /a/, for I have sinned...
It's bretty gud though. Well, if you're into books, that is.
But there is no moe Goemon...
jokes on you I have an usb tv tuner
B-but I just wanted to watch Lupin in company of another anon.
Dove vivi Anon? p...potrei guardare Lupin assieme a te...
Eh, a Bolzano.
Ah, troppo lontano...Peccato.
Is it funded by the mafia?
Depends: do you count Berlusconi as Mafia?
When autism bux ain't an option, man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
I'm sure he had links.
If it bombs in Italy I'm sure someone's getting whacked.
Well, I do have an old ass copy of The Crystal Stopper that I need to finished reading.
That depends on the writer.
In the manga he's definitely a lady killer.
Actually very few person watched SAO on Rai 4.
But overall Italy has pleb-tier taste
It's been quite a lot of time since I had a TV, did they make an Italian OP like always? Is it cringeworthy?
Incognito mode. The one in Castle of Cagliostro apparently had a retrofitted Porsche engine and drive-train.
No, the stuff aired on Rai4 all had original openings.
> Over Jigen, Zenigata, and Lupin.
No, you just have the worst taste imaginable.
They don't do it anymore, it would have been hideous
What is that cunt doing above everyone else?
Eh, thank God for that.
>it would have been hideous
Dude, we all grew up with that shit, though I was always puzzled by the fact that the second series of HnK retained the original OP and ED.
Goemon is the most honorabru Lupin character, you waito piggu.
Too bad for Ai wo Torimodose, it was awesome.
Might be the fact that I grew up with it but I like Tough Boy more.
The metal version of the game is great.
If you like old mecha anime, Italian is the second best language you could learn next to Japanese. They got literally every goddamn series over there.
hmm I guess I'll have to finally watch lupin.
good I've been putting it off for too lang
I meant Fujiko. I thought "cunt" was the giveaway
I just like sluts.
Guess I value them because they are so rare nowadays, I'm getting tired of pure virginal waifus whose only purpose in life is to please a shitty harem MC's dick.
What is this anime about?
Can you give a little summary?
A monkey steals things. Sometimes joined by friends.
Isn't Lupin also a slut?
Yes. That's why they are perfect for each other.
got a question for you
Why the cover for Black Jack Yoroshiku first volume is so off-putting?
Is it actually good?
Lupin > Jigen > Zenigata > Fujiko > Goemon
Like Cobra, Lupin is one of the few MCs that outshine the supporting cast.
This nigga gets it.
it's "howaito", get your weeaboo right!
Lupin and Cobra are practically the same.
Which is actually why they're cool
Cobra was sold to me as "Lupin in Space"
Huge news, made my day
>equating Lupin and Cobra
Adding to that, Saeba Ryo was basically the next generation of the staple MC in the tradition of Lupin and Cobra.
Too bad the fad pretty much ended with him...
Furthermore, the OP and ED of Cobra sound eerily similar to the first OP and ED of the second series of Lupin
Honestly everybody in Lupin is great. Ensemble of this century and the next.
Yuji Ohno composed them, that's why.
You can record your shit in BD and call it Lupin and it'd sell anyway in Italy.
The first TV series of Cobra theme songs were written by the Lupin composer.
And to add another interesting info, the first candidate for Cobra's voice was actually Yamada Yasuo, the voice actor for Lupin. They scrapped that idea because it would make the two characters even more alike.
Fun fact: in italy you can see some old uncensored Lupin episodes on TV BUT you'll get to see only season 1 of Sailor Moon since they won't rebroadcast the others due to "nudity" issues
Yasuo Yamada actually did voice Cobra in the PC Engine CD game. And Nachi Nozawa voiced Lupin one of the versions of the pilot film.
Man, I can't wait for the US to get some Lupin BDs. How are the BD releases for the first and second series?
Monkey Punch sure liked to pretend to kill Jigen all the time
borderline serial rapist, even
At least we have Favaro this season.
Guy had real boners instead of pansy nosebleeds...
Maybe one day, the sissy mediocre MC will die a little.
yeah right, you mean Angel Hearts Ryo?
Didn't he kill Jigen for real a few times too?
> tfw no more exhibitionist MCs
Well City Hunter, Angel Hearts came after.
What about Gifu Doudou?
I know m8, i was joking. City Hunter's Ryo was funny as fuck.
>mfw in Italy Ryo is called literally City Hunter in the first season
>The persons on the anime calls Ryo "Mr. Hunters"
>Kaori "Creta Mancinelli"
Does it have bits like when Ryo was posing in front of a window in women's lingerie?
This is extremely important.
Shit nigga this is great news
yeah it was a pretty common thing in Italy when mediaset bought an anime series, after naruto (2004 in Italy) they stopped it to change names.
Kimagure Orange Road -> È quasi magia Johnny (It's almost magic Johnny)
>Kyosuke -> Johnny
>Madoka -> Sabrina
>Hikaru -> Tinetta
Captain Tsubasa -> Holly & Benjy
>Tsubasa Ozora -> Oliver Hutton
>Wakabayashi Genzō -> Benjamin Prince
>Hyuga Kojiro -> Mark Landers
>Luffy -> Rubber (nickname in the last season)
Lupin the Third
>Fujiko -> Margot
And so on, basically they mediaset censored the japanese names
Anyway all the Italian companies except Mediaset always uses the original names for characters and anime title and even the original intro and ending music with japanese lyrics and they don't censor nothing.
No offense to you Italian friend, but your country has really shitty localization taste.
How the fuck do they explain Tsubasa and team wearing the HINOMARU JAP FLAG in the world youth cup while having names like Benjamin and shit
So wait, new Lupin series? Whatever happened to Fujiko Mine's series? Didn't it end on a rather lackluster note?
Will it be a revival of fun Lupin again?
So, I watched season 1 of Lupin a few months ago and I really enjoyed myself so after seeing this announcement last night I figured now was a good time to start season 2. For some reason the torrent I got was missing the third episode, To Be or Nazi Be, so I had to go find a stream for that specific episode to watch it. I can maybe see why it would have been omitted from an official release because wow, they did not hold back on the Nazi shit at all, but to keep it out of a torrent? Are there any other episodes that might've also been left out?
But they would always end up loving it.
Even in the Shin Lupin manga.
According to the commentary track on Fuma Conspiracy, the switch from Lupin's Hitler-owned Mercedes to a Fiat was because the Mercedes was too detailed and difficult animate and keep on model, and apparently the Fiat was a car someone on staff drove (it might've been Miyazaki) was one they noticed in the studio parking lot, and figured that would be way easier and time efficient to animate.
It's berlusconi's fault, is his companies
Basically they changed everything before the world cup, even sponsor names and the banners. But when the world cup came the national team where the MC played was Japan. But in the '80 and '90 we don't knew nothing about japanese culture, so for us english name in foreign country weren't so odd
But times has changed, so now we use original names, but most of the Italians dub companies buys the anime from the america counterpart, so most of the time we have the english version termines
like in Eureka Seven, instead of the Limit of Life we have the Limit of Question (Limite di questione). But Italian dubbers at least are god tier than english dubbers.
Kamina from Gurren Lagann in Italian is so fucking epic
I mean terms lel
The first series was scanned from the film, so it's already an upgrade over whatever ratty standard def materials are out there.
However, TMS (I assume they were behind restoring it) applied this bizarre restoration method to the footage where the grain stops when there's very little movement on screen. So scenes with a lot of action have apparent moving grain, but say when it's just a scene of someone talking, the grain will freeze everywhere except around the mouth of whoever is talking. I guess they thought this was a better way of preserving detail in the image than using DNR to filter grain out and smear the image (even though it's a simply drawn and animated show from the early 70s).
2nd series is, from what I've heard, an upscale;_;
Come to think of it, her name is Margot in Toho's English language airline dub of Secret of Mamo.
A monkey, a fedora neckbeard, a virginal samurai, and a slut steal things and go on adventures. Sometimes chased by pops.
Please. Jigen's beard is perfect.
Oh come on, I love Jigen and his beard too, but look at it, clearly a burgeoning neckbeard.
If you got the Season II torrent from BakaBT, To Be or Nazi Be is still there, it's just episode 26. The English release initial cut the episode, but later decided to include it.
