Have you ever downloaded anime just because you couldn't bear to leave your internet connection idle?

I figure it's best to hoard now rather than regret later when piracy has been eliminated.
>>
Yeah, I store the stuff I enjoyed on 2 external drives.

good joke

Only the shortsighted do not hoard anime. I've been squirreling away my favorite series plus a bunch of series in my backlog for years now.

If shit ever hits the fan I'll have hundreds, if not thousands of hours worth of anime to watch, a big chunk of which will be new to me.

But OP, don't you know the FBI will also come to your house and check if you have any illegally downloaded chinese cartoons in your computer?
>>
>>115285928
I usually just delete my animu once I'm done with them. I don't see the point of stuffing a 4TB drive with cartoons. I should start hoarding though.
>>
>>115285974
Yeah and santa claus doesn't give christmas presents to bad people who don't pay for their anime.
>>
>>115285800

I do that if only because it reassures me that I'm still connected. I don't really care about wasting bandwidth.

>>115285874
>>115285919

Of course it seems bizarre but with new and unpredictable 'internet policing laws' ever at the forefront of governements minds it will only make it harder/more complex/irritating to get stuff which was previously easily pirated.

Heck, when nyaa went down all the newfags asking for alternative methods and who weren't familiar with backup methods in the first place coming out in their hoards. All it takes in one unpredicted curveball...

You wait until the feds can inspect every bit of traffic to and from your computer because they need to prevent terrorism.
>>
>>115286054
Can they build a supercomputer powerful enough to actually handle every packet passed around in the whole internet?
>>
>>115285928
It's more likely that your hard drive fails and everything gets corrupted than shit ever hitting the fan.
>>

It's like you actually hate anime.

You must be young. Pirates always find a way. ALWAYS.

They don't need to, eventually you'll be required by law to have a government rootkit installed and running on your OS, it will report to them if it detects anything suspicious.
>>
>>115286138
No, but they can try.
That's why I'll see you all on the deep web in a couple of years from now trying to download anime and browsing some obscure, almost unknown forum.
>>
>>115286173
I hoard but only stuff that I like, why would you keep everything?
>>
>>115286187
>Having roaches in your home
>>
Just wait until the day they require you to have a license to browse the internet so they can keep track of you.
>>
As long as the internet exists, piracy cannot be stopped. Impossible.
>>
>>115286324
They can already track you, look at your browsing habits, they know your favourite anime, they know your waifu. They know everything already. Keeping it this way keeps normalfags happy and that's what's important to them.

Piracy will never die, it may be blocked off to the average retard downloading music but if you have some technical knowledge you should be fine. Pirates and hackers are always one step ahead, they see a roadblock as a challenge and love when the government or what ever pull shit like this, both sides are necessary to each to keep technology going. Anyways I doubt anyone besides some pissed off Japs will care that we download Anime, its people who download games, big programs and games that may be threatened in the future.
>>
I have a 300 GB cap so I can't do that anymore.
>>
>>115286324
Have you ever used gmail, google chrome or simply the google search engine? If you use all three, google has a file on you and everything you do on the internet, as does your isp. Google and your isp know all about the doujins you fap to.
>>
>>115286144
I have multiple backups.
>>
>>115286681
N-no please don't say that
>>
>>115286681
I won't be scared until some politician gets caught downloading trap doujins.
>>
>>115286750
>>115286798
I doubt it will effect you unless the porn is illegal or your isp is a cunt, I had a cunty isp before it sucked.

It's required to play visual novels
>>
>>115286860
I'm scared of the day a list full of all the torrents I've downloaded gets to my parents as mail from my isp. They're the only ones that check that shit. They even hand me everything I buy from amazon, so if that ever happens I'd probably kill myself.
>>
>>115285800
Yeah a lot actually
Log horizon was my most recent
Wasn't dissapoint

I'm so glad I moved out. My technologically illiterate brother (He doesn't even use adblock, for fucks sake.) genuinely believes this so he tries to spend every possible moment downloading stuff while he still can and then burning it to DVDs and shit when his HDD is full (and it always is). He's run out of stuff he's genuinely interested in years ago but still downloads because he can so back when I lived at the same place I had shitty internet connection most of the time because he was wasting most of the connection downloading stuff like that campy Batman TV series from the 60s.

And we had a piece of shit router so I couldn't even limit his speed with it.
