Are 90% of the sketches based on nip puns or is it just LOLRANDUM humor?
Either way I don't get it. My guess is its puns. Why the fuck do elevens love puns so much when every other country in the world stopped using them as their main source of humor in the middle ages.
At least the professor bits are acceptable.
Nichijou was a flop.
It's not that you don't get the puns, it's just that it's not funny.
Here's a successful comedy series with 4 seasons
30-90 percent of the sketches weren't very funny, depending on your taste. It's the main problem with the show.
Also fuck you puns are awesome.
Ok well thanks, I did really want to know if was just I didn't get the puns.
So this is basically the tim and eric of anime.
There's little wordplay in the show, nor do much of the jokes rely on some understanding of Japanese culture. You just have a hard time dealing with betrayal, which is at the heart of Nichijou's comedy.
You're supposed to watch it for the animation, stupid
It has good slapstick though. Why does no one even notice slapstick anymore.
hardly any puns in the show, but references that reached further than most fans' understanding. it also had actual jokes and sketches, which is quite unique to anime comedy. that's why it flopped with the ching chongs
There aren't many puns in Nichijou, there are a few culturally relevant jokes but for the most part it's straightforward and you'll either find the skit funny or unfunny depending on your sense of humor rather than the nip joke being invisible to your gaijin senses.
Types of humor in Nichijou -
Types of humor not in Nichijou-
>Complains about not getting the humor
>Praises the worst parts of the show
This thread is full of dumb shit.
Lyl, I was thinking the exact same thing when I watched it... like Tim and Eric though it's tolerable to watch while high
Nichibros > Nichijou
>You just have a hard time dealing with betrayal, which is at the heart of Nichijou's comedy.
I found most of Nichijou funny. The cute parts were nice too, while not being particularly funny.
It was almost always enjoyable to watch, and I was sad when it was over.
because puns of a language will be lost in translation. yay
Nichijou > Nichibros > Azumanga
everyone i know who's watched nichijou thinks it's hilarious.
i don't know how to explain the humor, it's just enjoyable.
either you think it's funny or you are wrong.
I haven't seen the show but i understand what people mean when they say LOLRANDUMB just by looking at that gif. Why is there a cat, why is she abusing it, what's so funny about this, why are there no backgrounds?
Professor a shit.
Nichibros is not very funny.
Most of the humor in Nichijou is very straight forward, you're just too stupid to get it.
It's not funny to you because you haven't watched the show, moron.
I found a lot of my enjoyment from the show came from looking at the situations that I can relate to or have been in, and just laughing about it. Really helped me enjoy the little things in life.
You see, you'd understand if you actually had watched the show. The cat is Sakamoto-san a cat given the ability to talk by the professor who is an eight year old genius. She throws the popcorn at him because, A, she's a bratty eight year old, and B, she has a habit of blaming Sakamoto every time she does something wrong or something goes wrong. Much of the humor in Nichijou is based off personal quirks with each of the characters. Thats why this is funny.
it's a filler, not an actual scene.
i didn't really get it until i watched the show.
it's a nice steady stream of amusement with a good laugh every now and then.
honestly, just watch it. you might like it.
It's a little girl throwing her popcorn at the cat because she is frustrated at failing the trick.
The OPs are God-tier.
Definitely in the the top 5 of anime OP's.
>there are people on /a/ right now that didn't understand 90% of Nichijou jokes and didn't enjoy it as a result of being stupid
Autistic people struggle with humour. It's not your fault. You didn't choose to be autistic. Just accept your flaw and move on.
hit the nail on the head.
