New here. Never got into anime as a kid, but after watching Ghost in the Shell and Spirited Away I've just fallen in love with the animation and art style with anime. The detailed realistic backgrounds and cartoony characters that are full of expression. The amount of detail that goes into the most mundane things like putting on shoes or dusting something off your shirt is crazy. Western animation just doesn't compare.
I'm not going to lie, I haven't lurked this board too much because it's a bit intimidating, I don't know any of the anime's you all really watch. So I'm not sure if this sort of thread is acceptable. Nor do I know whether or not you guys hate Spirited Away. I just watched it because it was on a list of greatest movies and now I want to watch more anime.
If there's anything you would recommend to an absolute pleb and beginner to anime, please do. I would really like to get into this community.
Thank you guys.
You lurk or fuck off.
Recommendation threads are not allowed and also try google
Lurk more, avoid posting, always.
ok. Thanks anyways guys.
protip: just look at what everyone is discussing and go from there.
Google top 10 animes etc the lists are usually gateway animes
I feel bad you're getting the usual treatment if you typed all of that honestly. Really, google will lead you to a fairly /a/ approved set of stuff.
You seem like a cool guy, so I won't tell you to fuck off entirely.
But the "cooler" shows you would see on Toonami and such, they are a good starting point. Google and lurking a bit will get you far.
I have no idea why you would feel sorry for the guy who couldn't even check the rules before posting. Why have any consideration for the guy who shows us none?
Yeah I did that after I watched Spirited Away and that's how I found out about Ghost in the Shell. I've heard of it before but I was never interested in watching anime before I decided to watch Spirited Away. I guess I can just watch the rest on the list. Thanks
Sorry, I didn't see a sticky so I just went to the rules page on 4chan. I didn't know there was a rule about no recommendations.
