ITT : `Villains` who are more likeable than the MC(s) of their respective series
That's wrong though.
Right, Sybil is the villain, and they are not likeable at all
Akane is way more likable than that faggot.
Akane is a steaming pile of moe cancer who should drink bleach.
Gendo was willing to sacrifice the world for his waifu.
Common theme in parts 6 & 7, maybe 8 too
>MC of part 1
All of the Jaegers
I see dead people.
He may be a cookie-cutter emotionless sociopath, but at least he's not an obnoxious cunt like everyone else in the main cast.
I've never rooted for a villain unironically this hard.
Tsunemoe is very likeable
This. All the likeable characters in Night Raid die immediately in AgK
RIP Bulat, Chelsea, and Lubbock
That being said I do like Leone, but Tats is boring
Even though the second season is just an episode in, I can only imagine myself liking max 2 characters. I definitely miss everyone from the first season, it was stupid to post Tsune to another squad.
Pucci maybe, but Valentine was shit, especially compared to Gyro and Johnny.
Makishima was adorable. I would go on a murder spree with him.
not anime but related
You're joking, right? The only Jojo part with a more likeable antagonist than protagonist was IV.
Why couldn't he just walk away?
Good taste anon, but unfortunately the Gessen girls are superior.
He wasnt even likeable. Ill give you that he was not detestable but if you put him on a scale I would say he was leaning in that direction.
As for being more likeable than Acorn-chan, you would have to have some severe mental disorder.
If you can count him as a villain
Come on man. Kogami was pretty good.
I agree. Josuke wouldn't be as great without Okuyasu and they come in a pair.
Kira was great all on his own
Even Tusk wants the Valentine D
I would watch the hell out of a show about Esdeath and her people; I find the night raid heavy episodes to pretty meh.
Your issue is that you watch the anime rather than just read the manga.
Well I'll be able to judge that tomorrow now won't I?
If you consider him a villian.
What should it be, just her Yayoi, and Gino? It wouldn't make sense to leave one division at half strength.
She wasn't even posted to another squad either.
He is the villain. The mastermind.
did you just forget about Sheele faggot
Technically, he is an MC.
I consider him an annoying asshole.
He was a villain when he was first introduced and if you look at it from that perspective, he was not more likeable than Touma at that time. So that Anon is more likely drawing on all the events after that while only using that time in the timeline as as a relevant date, in other words, complete fucking moron.
I love her so much
>More likable than Kyon
It's not that MCs are bad, it's just she's way too charming.
Even the protag agrees.
I loved him as a villain, he was so badass. There was no reason Touma should have won.
But of course, rejoice!
>killing bitches for the sake of his waifu
Say whatever you want about his methods, but his dedication is admirable.
Makishimapan was not a villain though. More like the antihero of the story.
This guy and pretty much everyone from Tres Espana is 10 times more likable than anyone on Musashi.
Touma was and still is a boring protagonist in my opinion. Accelerator was cooler even as the villain he was portrayed as in the beginning. And as the series goes on, I think he becomes a cooler protag than touma as well. Opinion though.
>MUH ENDS JUSTIFY THE MEANS
Yeah, nah, Nox was a faggot.
He has so much charisma that naturally he overshadows everyone else, but what he put all those teens through was horrible.
Now here's a smile that can do no wrong. He's like the Jesus of Lux.
Much more interesting a character to watch than Ichise and his 3 modes of silence, screaming, or punching things.
She was just kinda forgettable to me; she made no lasting impact
Wait which madara are you talking about?
>Liking beta MC in SS1
>Liking Shittiest MC who ruin the show in SS2
Why Akanefag are this cancerous?
I liked him more than misaka when they showed his motivations for the level 6 shift planin railgun S2
MFW Akane becomes Kogami at the end of Season 2
MFW Shinya becomes Shogo
It never ends it's just one big circle
Haven't you heard the radioplay? Post-killing-Shogo Kogami still wanted the opportunity to give Akane the D and she still wanted it. A year and a half later, I honestly doubt that has changed.
genocide never happened. Just like he had planned. The only bad part is how he risked destroying the entire universe if it doesn't work. Nothing much
humanity did nothing wrong
You're gonna need to post the radio play
I'm not talking about Edo Tensei Uchiha Madara. I'm not talking about Gedou Rinne Tensei Uchiha Madara either.
Hell, I'm not even talking about Juubi Jinchuuriki Gedou Rinne Tensei Uchiha Madara with the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan and Rinnegan doujutsus (with the rikodou abilities
and being capable of both Amateratsu and Tsukuyomi genjutsu), equipped with his Gunbai, a perfect Susano'o, control of the juubi and Gedou Mazou, with Hashirama Senju's DNA
implanted in him so he has mokuton kekkei genkai and can perform yin yang release ninjutsu while being an expert in kenjutsu and taijutsu. I'm talking about sagemode sage of
the six paths Juubi Jinchuuriki Gedou Rinne Tensei Legendary Super Saiyan 4 Uchiha Madara with the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan, Rinnegan, Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, and
Geass doujutsus, equipped with his Shining Trapezohedron while casting Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann as his Susanoo, controlling the Gold Experience Requiem stand, having
become the original vampire after having absorbed Alucard as well as a God Hand, able to tap into the speedforce, wearing the Kamen Rider Black RX suit, with Kryptonian DNA
as well as Batmans brain implanted in him and having eaten Popeye's spinach while possessing quantum powers like Dr. Manhattan and having mastered Hokuto Shinken.
who even was the villain?
was there even a villain?
Not quite a radio play, but a call that seems to slip in some time between the ending and the post-credits scene from the last ep of S1.
you guys forgot someone
But Light was the MC. Being the MC does not exclude being a bad guy.
>inb4 Light did nothing wrong
You guys know what I mean.
That one is Kira, despite that filename, as in "the bad side" of Light Yagami. What I meant is that Kira was more likable than Light, his "righteous one".
but he was a massive megalomaniac faggot who liked his dick only
Don't get metaphysical on us you fuck.
Tell me you wouldn't do the same things in his position, its like his name implies, he's honest
>implying helping a man to permanently cure his alcoholism or trying to help a little boy to find his mother is wrong
Johan is a hero and you know it.
>more likeable than MC
>bland self-insert character for wannabe psychopats (aka edgy teens) with laughable motivation and Hitler-Jesus psychological powers
Kenzo and his sister carried that show. Johann is boring and poorly written.
>complaining about blandness
How the hell does that even work?
At least she'd just kill you if you're lucky.
That makes her ten thousand times more likable than Fran who would make you want to die because she's a stupid bitch who can't do anything right.
Funny enough, he did both.
The man stopped drinking and the boy likely found his mother.
Way to not understand anything about Johan.
He has no powers, did you even watch/read Monster?
Different anon with the same opinion, obviously he had no powers, it just came across like that because of how ridiculous it was. But go on, enlighten me about Johan.
Agree with Fran but moeblob and Okita were more likeable.
Kaiki is infinitely more likeable to Araragi
Can he be held ac-count-able for his actions?
Johan is a multifacet character that is literally fighting fate.
He was ridiculous because that's just how powerful, influential and smart he is.
Basically, the story is about Tenma trying to find Johan, why he's doing all of this killing and what he's after.
At first, Johan has no goal, he's just randomly killing people for the sake of something which I'll explain later.
Then he gains back his memory from reading a book and goes on a quest to find the person who created him.
He kills the guy for his mother's sake and plans a grand murder suicide of everyone and break the person hunting him.
But he fails twice, one by not breaking the guy and forcing him to die and Tenma actually sticking to his morals and saving him. Since Tenma will save anyone if he gets the chance.
But there's a bigger scope to the story which can only be understood if you understand the character of Johan.
Johan is insanely mysterious and unknown the entire time and a lot of people don't understand him unless they rewatch or reread a few times.
The point of Johan is that he has no goal. It's all a lie.
He doesn't kill people for fun, for pleasure or for gain. He doesn't even do it just because he's bored, he does it just because he can. And even that is a lie.
You get the sense that there's a monster inside of him but that's just him bullshiting you and Tenma.
It's all a lie.
''help help, the monster inside of me is growing''.
Like that psychologist said in one episode, psychopaths know their own mental condition and will lie and fake just to fuck with people. Johan is no different.
At first, when you meet Johan, you think 511 is the reason for why he's gone insane.
But then you learn that he was the one who fucked up everyone and that he was insane before going into the institution.
So then you get hints that the Rose Mansion is what drove him insane.
But then you learn it was Anna/Nina that was at the mansion and saw the deaths, not him.
Nothing suggest he is even evil or has anything. The more you go back to his origins, the more you find out there was nothing to kickstart his intents.
And it all comes down to one thing, why is he doing anything?
The answer is that he's trying to get someone to kill him. Because he's bored and above humanity. Like he says, he's just messing with the line of ants to see what happens.
But the reasons for that is much simpler and he shows it with his actions; he points to his forehead to where people need to shoot and kill him, tempting people exactly where to do it.
Johan is on a quest to fight fate itself and to try and have someone kill him while he barely avoids getting killed by doing as little as possible.
The more depth you can find from him is when he talks to children, the people he most relates to.
That game he taught children, the rooftop walk where you might fall.
That's the game he's playing with the world.
Mess with the line of ants until they come push him off.
And then escape suicide by doing as little as possible. And he pulls it off.
Johan doesn't give a fuck about anything.
He just creates the illusion that he has goals or motives but he doesn't.
He never gave a fuck about his sister. He just wanted to make her go to a certain point and see if she could try and kill him and then try to get out through simple words.
Everything about him being a monster or becoming built as a monster is a lie. 511, the Rose mansion and in the end, even his mother being the reason he became corrupt.
He fucks around with people to get them to try and kill him, tempt fate, and get out without barely lifting a finger.
In the end, in the village, Johan corners himself perfectly, getting all the players in a specific spot.
Bonaparta is dead and he's about to win but fate intervenes and he's about to survive fate again.
Something unpredictable and beyond his calculations get him outside of his perfect suicide.
Afterwards, Tenma meets up with his mother, and he tells a comatose Johan that he understands everything about him.
And Johan just lays doubt on Tenma just enough for him to fuck with him and then escapes.
And in the credits, Johan is off to kill more people, to tempt fate again.
To try and get people to kill him and to get away with it with the smallest amount of leeway.
You cannot understand Monster without understanding Johan.
The issue is that most people simply do not understand or catch his personality since he's so quiet.
Well, he was made specifically so you'd like him, and she was made specifically so she'd annoy you (in the first part of the manga at least)
True hero and patriot/10
Seriously though, I was so sad when he lost.
Also saw the "queerats are genetically modified humans" thing coming since ep 5, but it was still a shock to hear about it
Good night, sweet prince
Johan's character is a non-metaphorical drive for characters to seek him out and he fucks with them out of boredom to tempt fate until he remembers a single action in his past and goes out of his way to resolve it while it having no actually baring or need.
What did Albert whisper to him that Gankutsuou disppear?
Psycho Pass wouldn't work without Akane, though.
That's precisely the problem, that there's no real rhyme nor reason to anything he does. No substance or compelling driving point. There is simply nothing to make out of anything he did. It's poetic, maybe, but meaningless.
That's also, to me, what makes him great.
There is no real point to how much of a villain he is.
You get glimpses of what might have turned him evil and it just becomes something else and then something else until Johan gives you that bullshit story that seeing his mother make an impossible choice is what fucked him over, which I highly doubt did anything.
Hell, Johan doesn't even seek a goal because he basically got everything he wanted.
He controlled the stocks of the richest man in Europe, can control any number of criminals without doing a single thing.
People want him to become this messiah or leader but that would reduce him to something manipulable and Johan gives no shit about that. It's falling in line with the rest of the ants.
But what's funny is that once he gets his memory back, he does have a goal, a driving point and it doesn't stop him from being manipulable or evil.
It's also funny that it's at that point that he stops murdering people just for the sake of it until he actually finds Bonaparte and decides to kill all loose ends before starting his village suicide.
The point isn't that he's doing all of this without reason, it's that the reasons he does them has absolutely no value because he sees no value in everything else.
I'm not even Akanefag but Makishima is an edgy fag with entry-level philosophy. There's no way he could be more likeable.
Exactly why he appeals to edgy fags with entry-level philosophy
rip in peach ;_;
Damn, that guy is awesome. Time to rewatch.
>implying IoE isn't the true villain
>IoE more likeable than Guts
That wasn't what I was implying, you stupid moron. Back to your containment thread.
This isn't a ''who's the actual villain'' thread either you fuckwit.
Do villains who become friends with the MC later count?
You know the Gessen girls have flat personalities compared to Hanzo and Hebijo's girls (Homura's squad not the new ones).
Aha, but as the actual villain, IoE is not as likable as Guts. Why don't you have a name, by the way?
>but as the actual villain, IoE is not as likable as Guts
And that's what I implied.
>Why don't you have a name
God every time. She looks like she has downs and is ugly as shit to boot. Why do people like this again?
I don't like liars.
Like that even works.
Looks like it does.
Huh, I was sure that interfered with filtering systems.
I love u makashima
this is the only answer
>you put on the no name in the first place in order to stop people from filtering your bullshit
sasuga no name
I don't get it. I thought Shogo was a really interesting character and Akane's alright, she's the kinda mc that wants to save people and whatnot. Why do so many prefer her?
Why the fuck do you stop being anonymous if you don't want to be filtered.
Are you this much of a faggot?
Not entirely true.
I am anonymous, I am nameless.
He wants the attention.
Well, yes. He's one of three posters that bring ruin to the Berserk threads by talking about stupid theories. Anons are naturally provoked into getting pissed off at him, other anons get mad at those anons for responding, and amidst the chaos no name starts blogging about his life. That's all I'm going to say now, don't want this thread getting ruined unless you people think it was shit to begin with.
Pretty much. If you're not anonymous, you're an attention whore. Lelouch, Mami Kawada Lover, Hawk, all sluts for the sake of a response.
Can someone explain to me why the hell did he chose to die like a little bitch? He was a badass smart motherfucker, I fail to find logic in his actions in the last episode.
I suspect that there's some people who like Shogo because he gets the cool scenes and kill people, and that those same people find Akane boring because she doesn't.
I find Shogo and Akane equally engaging because she's a cynical Conservative in the tradition of Burke, and Shogo is, when all is said and done, a doe eyed Romantic.
It's not very often one gets to see a moeblob voiced by KanaHana that represents the ideals of traditional Conservatism.
Akane shot out the wheel of his truck which caused him to crash and start bleeding out a bunch. He DID try to run away from Kogami but succumbed to exhaustion
What I want to know is why he spared Akane when he had her dead to rights
You just implied that conservatives are retarded. That's rude, man.
Shogo spared Akane because he noticed the gun in her hand was Kogami's. He pulled the trigger but realized the gun was empty, and deduced that Akane took it from Kogami
Or, to put it bluntly, he realized Akane gave as little a shit about him as he did about her.
In that way, they were alike.
>What I want to know is why he spared Akane when he had her dead to rights
I don't really remember in detail but it was something to do with him having newfound respect for her because she stuck to her principles.
She transcended his principles.
If the gun in Akane's hand was hers(and thus, packed with bullets), then her actions were just a vulgar redo of the Yuki test. A wounded dog learning to make the right choice(i.e. killing Shogo) after being whipped.
But because it WASN'T her gun, because it was the gun taken from Kogami, Shogo realized Akane's aim wasn't to defeat him, but to "defeat" Kogami.
Shogo realized Akane didn't care about him in the slightest, and I suppose that made him develop some form of respect for her
lol what? What principles?
The principle of not throwing the baby out with the bathwater
I'm cool with taking down Sibyl, but he was far too much of an edgelord to be likable.
I loved him. Guess I'm a sucker for edgelords
Would you a helpless Kotomine?
I think he realised that his life was meaningless. He hated the reality around him and chose to quit in the most fitting manner that made him feel alive.
Sibyl fucked him over in the end
Why does stuff like this exist....
Because he never gave Akane the D
Is there anything the brains did not fuck over?
Wait what? That's Kotomine Kirei from Fate isn't it?
Griffith is just a Godhand pawn.
>inb4 Griffith sides with Guts to fight them if we ever get to see Berserk end
I hate griffith, definitely not more likable than MC
favorite character in the whole show
For as long as they were villains, anyway. Then they were just the more likeable supporting cast.
I like both too
