Hey /a/nimen, I just finished Elfen Lied and I'm blown away. Fucking. Masterpiece. The only anime I've enjoyed as much are Attack on Titan and Death Note.
I love how it tackles so many sensitive topics, from what it means to be human to how dysfunctional society is to rape culture in Japan.
I do have a question, though---I didn't really get the ending. Why was #35 shown at the door? And what was the symbolism between the clock working again and her sudden reappearance? Are they showing her retribution?
Also, why was she no longer in a wheelchair? Is she using a cane now? Furthermore, will #7 forgive her for their past?
I really hope a sequel comes out soon! I'm super excited by this anime and will recommend it to everyone I come across! I already e-mailed one of my professors who I'm trying to introduce to the anime genre (he's big into Asian cinema).
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this instant classic. I know I'm a little late to the party, but I'm excited to have this discussion.
Read the manga dipshit
Is it really worth it to read the manga? I enjoy watching anime and reading the source material would just be a rehash, no?
>implying that will answer thier questions
Anyway, OP. I think you should familiarize yourself with board culture before posting. This is a staple on any board and will lower the likely hood of trolling
I've lurked for a while and have read the board rules, so I'm not trying to disrespect the culture, but isn't it sort of self-defeating for the board to not entertain discussion in an attempt to shut out newcomers?
I'm only asking for those who love the show as much as I do to talk about it if they wish. I'm not sure why certain posters are being so disrespectful, especially when it is against the rules to name-call.
