Has everyone bought their copy of Lucky Star Volume 1 yet?
I would never buy it, and I even enjoyed the series as it was airing. I almost feel like re-watching it, but not spending money to achieve that end.
i already watched the 24 episodes, sage for american fail
Oh, and extras is just going to be some previews for other shows..big whoop.
Hueg subs are hueg. I recognize that this really isn't the company's fault, it's the fact that they have limited choice of what styles of subs they can add.
I have no idea whether I want to buy it or not, I'm very confused here.
sage for lucky shit
Go back animesuki faggot
2chan level otaku, ect. copypasta.
Do some research before you post, faggot.
With my economic stimulus payment
No. I don't like it enough to buy it. I did just buy Big O, though.
Is this dubbed?
I'm definitely buying it. Just not sure if I can do that this month.
It is, indeed. Actually a pretty good one, too. I was expecting shit but... there was none.
Nah, the subs aren't that big. If you want to see huge watch something like Kashimashi that takes up 1/3 of the screen.
Anyway I feel bad for anyone who bought the LE box set on this. Not only did they get the covers wrong (r1 releases switched the japanese LE and regular version's cover around) but the extras are udder shit (t-shirt, some pastry screen wiper, and 2 cds for double the price).
Did you get that cute box thingy?
You know what's the saddest part?
the original lyrics makes even less sense
Comic Sans <3
I actually like that particular cover.
where is my fucking torrent for this masterpiece?
Actually the original lyrics make a lot more sense than the mangled fan translation.
> You know how in MAAHNGAAH and ANNAMAAY
I stopped watching right there.
and so on...
Are these real subs or are they just some English words pulled out at random?
At least the subs aren't yellow
They are the real subs translated from the official lyrics.
Much superior to shitty fansub crap translation.
The subs are yellow.
English is not a bad language per se. But Americans mispronouncing Japanese just sounds so fucking horrible to me.
Manga is actually pronounced right.
Anime isn't though.
Damn I just pulled the image off of /jp/ as well anon. I rushed over here to post it and was beaten. :(
>Comment: it comes out on DVD May 06, 2008. i can't wait! just a few more days!
This has got to be a viral marketer, hasn't it?
I'm choking with laughter here, this is excellent
> Manga is actually pronounced right.
But still with a horrible accent.
I have the regular version preordered at Amazon for about $20.
what the fuck am i reading?
Soon I shall have the shirt.
You have to post a picture of you wearing it too
Wouldn't you love to have that job?
Fuck you anon
Couldn't close that shit fast enough as soon as I heard konnichiwa
See this large pole , it's a large pole it takes a crane to lift the pole.
Unless i'm holding this pole i won't go near the lucky star dvd.
evening time /a/
She ain't got no money, clothes are kinda funny, hair is kinda wild and free.
Oh, love goes where my Rosemary goes
and >>11333684 like me.
It's A-Okay when the Japanese mispronouce engish words 25/7 right?
VASHU DE SHTAMPEEDU
No, we laugh at them too.
See: any Beck thread.
Speaking of Beck, Beck was fucking awesome in English.
Raspy Greg Ayeres is raspy.
Good point. In the context of animu, yes it is. For me anyway.
Right, it's a little thing called 'fashion English'.
Just because it's "Fashion English" doesn't change the fact that they horribly mangle the words.
You'd still be pissed at Japanese misinterpretation if we had Fashion Japanese
raspy because he smokes, he's also a flaming faggot
As long as they manage to laugh at themselves because they know their English is shit, I'm OK with that. Adds to the comedy.
Still a better singer then the Japanese one
white people look stupid when they mispronounce any thing other than english incorrectly, don't get me started with quesadilla.
Quite frankly Anon, I don't give a damn.
If you don't pronounce it the way she did then you're one gigantic faggot trying to sound Japanese
9/10's of the time it isn't for comedy. That crap in Beck or Genshiken 2 isn't fashion English.
Ha ha, oh Wow... Genshiken 2.
Did you know that Japanese people are SENSIBLE?
Why is there an emoticon in the subtitles?
Sensible, Sensibility, sensible, sensible JAPANASE PEOPLE ARE SO SENSIBLE.
it was subbed by the lowest form of weeaboos.
Because it is kawaii ^_^
We'll when I went to Japan my Australian friend in Osaka pronounced it that way (English teacher at a University there). My Hawain friend who brought along a japanese couple to dinner with me pronounced it Anime with a short "me" not a prolonged "mei"
So I figured the native speakers were correct rather than then the linguist, must be mistake.
the site, it does not work
Native English speakers generally suck at pronouncing anything other than English. German, Japanese, doesn't matter what. Linguist, teacher or just a regular guy, doesn't matter either.
Yeah thats why I thought in that video she said "anime" wrong as the Japanese couple pronounced it with the short "め”.
At least they have one thing in common this japs then
