So what are the popular trends of anime back then? Based from what I know,

2007-present: the MOE factor, parody anime
2004- early 2006: ecchi-harem anime
2001-2003: ??????
1998-2000: cyberpunk, the future
1993-1997: mahou shoujo

I dunno if this is correct
