Whenever it's about technology in daily life, there is always some God, soul, etc or other metaphysical concepts thrown in, from shounen to magical to demential-psychological (arguably the best examples).

Dennou Coil took the road of making it actually people-based. Personally i was pleased to see this path being taken.
