Well then, old news but I've recently re-acquired an interest in finding the Nitaboh OST.
In case you haven't seen it (unsurprising), Nitaboh is an animated movie showcasing the story of the founder of a popular style of Shamisen play. Not exactly your typical /a/sshole kind of show.
That said, the music is absolutely stunning - worthy of a movie about the founder of a style of play.
The OST is fucking impossible to find. Only place I've even come remotely close to finding it on is a fucking paysite (downloadanimevideos.com should be shot). Needless to say, there's no fucking way I'm paying for a download, especially one that's practically guaranteed to be shit quality.
This is where /a/ enters the picture.
If anyone happens to know where I might obtain (even as far as buying a CD) this OST, for the love of loli let me know!
To make this a less-than-blatant /r/, I'll be posting pics of Shamisen as I find them.
Pic related (it's a great movie, definitely worth watching)
it's harder to find these images than it would appear... the Shamisen isn't a very popular instrument in anime it seems
fuck yeah! demon music!
I watched some Japanese woman play one of those instruments once. She sang along with playing. Too bad her singing sounded like a poodle barking.
There was a shamisen player in Samurai Champloo. It was beautiful. ;.;
I've seen videos like that before. I must admit the general singing accompaniment is a bit.. unique. Nitaboh features very little talking compared to the amount of instrumental music however, one of the reasons I like it. It is a true "musical", not a singing harmony movie, an instrumental musical.
This is my last pic, so I'm also adding a youtube link to the final showdown between Nitaboh and another musical prodigy.
hell.. posting random instruments now to generate more interest
You guys should check out the Yoshida Brothers. They're a band that plays a contemporary shamisen/rock hybrid.
I saw a few videos of theirs when searching for shamisen on youtube. They have an interesting sound but I'm looking for the simpler shamisen solos from the Nitaboh OST. Thanks for the tip though. I'm sure others in the thread will find it awesome.
moar pics (unrelated of course)
and I'm out of regular instrument images as well
I should start an instrument folder, oh well
begging for your help /a/
internets in advance, etc..
As a tripfag on other boards... your secure trip annoys the fuck out of me.
Hmm......I approve of this thread. I will go watch this movie. As soon as I free up some hard drive space.
thank you, I'm not a tripfag for your enjoyment after all
bumping for more relevant to OP information
bump because I know night time /a/ is my best shot at this
