Hey /a/. What's your favorite anime ever, and why? Movie, series, whatever. And be honest; don't be afraid of the trolls. Personally, I think I may have a tie. Emma: A Victorian Romance Haibane Renmei Both of these series have moved me more than any other, including live action films. There was something that they both portrayed that I feel is timeless.

Haibane Renmei? I liked it better when it was called the Bible. Seriously.

>There was something that they both portrayed that I feel is timeless. Way to spam pretentious artfag words without any actual meaning. Let me rewrite your post to make your sense: "Hay guise I liek these animus taht u say r rly deep so i must b deep n awesoem for lieking them too amirite? can i join ur club nao?".
>>11313388 You fail so hard at failing, it went all the way around to good and back down to fail.
One is not much, but in my current state I will say Mushishi. I have never seen such a strange atmosphere and such poetry in anime, except maybe in Kino no tabi.
>>11313421 I guess it shouldn't be surprising.
Lupin the 3rd. At first I liked it for the old school look (red jacket season) but then I got into more and more of it. And coz he's a badass.
KnJ moved me. In the pants.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It had just a little bit of everything and blended them together well. Plus interesting characters, good humor, and great animation. For me anyway, it also has a lot of replay value. Plus it was just fun to watch.
it's a bit of a tie for me there are 2 series 1. high school days 2. serial experiments lian why? because 1.both have engrossing story lines that are hard to watch and a bit confusing at times (face it all the good one's have that at times) and 2. both endings left me some what stunted in a way, and thinking about it
Black Lagoon. One of the first real adult movies outside of Berserk that I loved. Guns, gratuitous violence, borderline realism, badass women and men. I can't stand shows anymore where kids save the world or some shit aka Evangelion/Fafner/Digimon/you name it.
Grave Of The Fireflies.
