>...has anybody else noticed that [as] is relying more and more on new anime rather than their standby of American comedies a la American Dad and Family Guy? It seems Busou Renkin will get aired along with Gundam 00 and I've heard rumors that, because Bandai Entertainment (not the ones with shit high DVD prices, the ones that released Cowboy Bebop, Haruhi, and now Lucky Star) has the license, Gurren Lagann may actually air on the network. This isn't too far-fetched as [as] has had a good track record with Bandai stuff (if you forget Gundam Seed) and is one of their main partners in airing anime on American TV (the other ones being Viz and FUNimation). Code Geass and Gundam 00 are not being advertised to their maximum potential but I think that may be it, they simply want the fans to watch it so that they might actually buy the DVDs of said shows so seeing GL in the future seems somewhat plausible. Plus it's easy to make fun of which [as] loves doing with it's newer anime properties.
Now /a/ discuss.
>GL on adult swim
SHUT THE FUCK UP UNTIL IT'S OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED. I AM NOT GETTING MY HOPES UP FOR NOTHING
>has anybody else noticed that [as] is relying more and more on new anime rather than their standby of American comedies a la American Dad and Family Guy?
No. What fucking planet do you live on?
this wouldnt be so bad if adult swim didnt always eventually lead to hot topic
i thought all they cared about was shitty flash "humor" and family guy.
Did you even keep fucking reading? He says later that they appear to be adding more anime to the lineup. Of course they fail to mention this is mostly on Saturday and Sunday rather than the actual week.
Adult Swim is still reeling from losing Futurama.
I kept reading. Still doesn't change the fact that they recently cut ALL animu out of their weekday timeslots so they can spam more Family Guy reruns (which get more than five times the ratings of any of their anime). They might be getting a few new series, but they're probably just looking for shit to fill the void when Death Note and Code Geass are over.
Relying more and more on anime?
Don't the currently have the least anime airing that they've had in a long time?
I mean it's just Bleach, Death Note and Geass at 12:30-1:00-1:30 respectively last I checked.
Gurren Lagann is a Toonami grade show.
Hurray! More mostly shitty anime! What a dream come true...
All for the better as long as they cut nothing out. Better air time means more exposure, more DVD sales.
Even on Saturdays, their "designated" animu night, they don't start showing anything until midnight.
Well written post but I have to agree with >>11296081. There are only 4 (if you count Shin-chan) anime being aired right now and, compared to Family Guy and all the other "humorous" shows they air, they get very, very low ratings. Now, if you were talking about a few years ago I would have to whole-heartedly agree with you. Of course, that was when anime was the shit rather than mostly shit.
Actually, its their designated "action" night. Dispite the Family Guy and Shin Chan. Venture Brothers, I feel, works fine in action.
And I've heard multiple complaints that 1:30 is really damn late for a lot of people.
Of course, Venture Brothers is actually good so...
ur a faget
I hate that stuff
It is really damn late.
It is too late. Why did it even get that time slot? Because of the ecchi?
Metalaploypse is on Saturdays now.
Arent they putting back shitty ass Inuyasha for an hour on saturday?
It's understandable that Cartoon Network of all stations might be hesitant about showing it earlier.
They've showed shows with worse. It's a simple thing to censor.
Hell, Geass in Japan censored out more than it showed on tv.
