I buy every show I watch.
how many people here actually DO buy most of the anime they watch and how many are just thieves who just d/l the DVD rip?
in b4 shitstorm but I am trying to do a survey. Personally I have NEVER bought a single anime DVD or any anime related material myself
suuuuuuuuuuuuuuure you do
I have honestly bought more anime than I have ever downloaded.
I usually download ... but if I really really like it then I'll buy the DVD. Total count bought - 4 DVD's so far
i buy the r2 discs, rip them and put subs on them that piss anons off.
I buy the most i can.
Well if liked, that is.
in what, a year? 2 years?
I don't watch shit anime, which means I watch about three shows per season, tops.
I like this anime. I'd buy it if it was sold in the US, and if I wasn't poor.
OP is a faggot. You fail at surveys.
I am a pirate.
I love animes, games and the likes. And yet I have never ever paid for any of them. If there is a title for king of piracy, I would be in the top few.
I am ashamed of this but years after years of piracy and living in a developing country in which piracy is rampant killed my moral values.
I haven't bought a single anime in all my life
i download cartoons
I only buy like one box set per year. and its usually the limited edition kind, so its more expensive than usual.
if you're also a book pirate, a movie pirate and a software pirate, then yeah, you WOULD be considered one of the candidates for the title of King of the Internet Pirates
Only anime I've bought is voices of a distant star
Why the hell would anyone pirate a BOOK?
Hey there Bandai.
Books are fucking expensive man. Have you ever bought one? Especially college texts. Fucking Rudin cost like 150 bucks for a 300 page book.
cuz ther are damn expensive these days. and cuz some people STILL like to read
A FUCKING LIBRARY.
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN INSIDE ONE?
i don't buy anything that i can download
Last book I bought was the Zombie Survival Guide. Well worth the money.
Have you ever been to college? The library only lends you a textbook for like two hours.
You actually have buy or borrow the textbook for convenience.
Besides, not all library have books you need.
Some books aren't available in some libraries. They have interlibrary loan, but that shit fucking takes forever.
I buy lots of show and d/l. Usually not the same shows because there's alot of older stuff that's so cheap it's practically like stealing (CPM's catalog for example) and there's modern stuff that almost NEVER gets released on R1.
I download way more than I buy, but I DO buy somethings I like. I consider it cutting down 10 trees, then planting 5 in it's place.
I guess we should get rid of libraries then; they're clearly obsolete now. Waste of money.
Downloaded several TB of animu, bought around 20 series and a few more films, several because I knew it would be good (Haibane Renmei, Kino no Tabi) and several because I enjoyed the series enough to warrant a flashy package and proper dvds.
which college are you going to?
they let me borrow the book for four days
The only anime related stuff that I buy are obscure manga that I can find copies of online.
>4chan killed my moral values
I generally don't do either. I just watch the broadcast and that's it. Exceptions being nanoha (which I would have bought) and OAVs.
I see no reason to buy or watch the dvd of anything that came on television, let alone buy into and/or support that SUPERSPECIAL EXTRA quality UNCENSORED DVD BUY NOW bullshit.
I have over 2 TB of anime, but I'll buy stuff that's really worth it - ie guitar ninjas and Giant Robo. I also own Gankutsuou and Escaflowne.
You missout on ALOT of shows that way.
Really, CN doesn't play must anime anymore.
i think the only stuff i buy is one piece and full metal alchemist manga
I watch all my anime through the internet for free, but I buy the DVDs of the anime I really love.
If there's that much difference between a broadcast(rip) and a DVD, I'm especially not inclined to pay for a show that should have been finished the first time. Or torrent it twice for that matter.
fuck the anime US industry
I buy manga I like, but not anime.
I usually stick to fansubs and I very rarely look towards DVD-rips (for anime at least).
I usually buy domestics of shows that I either like a lot after I watch the fansubs, don't have readily accessible fansubs or are such a good deal that I can't pass up.
As a result I have a modest collection, but I haven't bought anything lately.
hmm after checking my collection i have about 2.6Tb of stuff that i have pirated; about 2/3rds of that is anime and i own nothing but hardware
I buy anime I love whenever I get the chance. I just burn DVDs of stuff that's out-of-print or won't be released in English.
For awhile I tried to be a moralfag and only buy VHS/DVDs, individuals, which worked out pretty well, because DVDs initially were actually cheaper than subbed VHS, and I had a job in high school. The straw that broke the camel's back was the Bebop movie though, I knew there were fansubs and I knew it wasn't going to come out in Amerikka for awhile so I just downloaded it, never really looked back. Now at most I buy 2 or 3 series a year, box sets only, because I have student loans to pay back, and it's only ever shit I've already watched and know I'll rewatch.
