Second amendment anime.
Freedom of the press. Serious fucking business.
book defend'n animu kicks ass
I've been trying to decide whether the shrimpy drill instructor is the main character's hero or not. It seems too obvious.
There was shooting. Yet, there was no "I DON'T WANT TO HURT ANYONE" monologue or crying.
That alone elevates this above most anime.
So far, I LOVE IT.
It doesn't spout positive ideals so it must be better right?
Me too.. I LOVE the characters. The setting is laughable, but I see the message they are trying to send. I want more. With better subs.
Library War? I liked it better when it was called ROD.
>>It doesn't spout tired cliches
I still don't know what to think of this series.
It is like a "librarian civil war" with one faction wanting to destroy MOST books, and the other faction trying to protect ALL books.
At least there were rifles in episode 3. I hate seeing massive large scale battles where everyone has submachine guns.
This could be /k/ worthy. (Betetr then asking /k/ about dual weilding pinky shooting from soul eater).
Lamest premise ever is lamest
Awesome show needs awesome subbers.
Wikipedia: the anime.
As a bookworm and a /k/ommando, I gotta say this animu is awesome.
It's not really, it's just that the anime hasn't done a good job of explainnig it yet.
Froth-Bite (and Menclave, but who cares about them) put out subs this afternoon.
Everyone is tsundere for Iku and they are mean about it.
Think about some of the anime that's come out in the past two years and tell me if you honestly believe that.
I think I will pick this up, thanks guys.
Who does the best subs for this?
Can you really call what is happening to Kaiba "subbing"?
Froth Bite - Menclave.
Just hope that Menclave keeps the faggot-levels to a minimum this time around.
Isn't F-B subbing Kaiba?
The only ones subbing it.
Not as bad as Eclipse subbing Code Geass when they're the only groups subbing Kyouran.
This show only has two shitty groups subbing it, not a billion.
I hate you for being right.
Could be worse, Kaiba could have a grand total of zero fansubbers.
WHY THE FUCK 300+ MB subbed shows?
Fuck that shit!
Pretty sure it's less about the ideals themselves than it is about trite storytelling.
What's the matter too HIGH DEFINITION for you?
Learn to Broadband. C'mon anon, stop living in the past.
Is it? IS IT!?!?
It's worse than what Triad did with Kaiji. At least we knew in our hearts they were trolling us.
There is no hope here for that.
YESSS GIMMIE JPG ARTIFACTS
It's not THAT lame.
- Government tries to censor media
- It fucks up and ends up killing a bunch of people
- Citizenry forms a militia centered around protecting the freedom of the press
- All-out civil war is very narrowly avoided in exchange for a tense give-and-take relationship between the Library Task Force and the Media Enforcement Agency
Sure, the JSDF and/or the police should've busted the militia before it formed an intricate chain of command and equipped itself with equal weaponry and armor, but that will likely be explained some more later on.
Two weeks behind... so far.
Yes, it is. Compare Kaiba being, what, 2 weeks behind with other shows that have been out for eons without subs (see Aria fans, and while AEN is catching up, they don't count as fansubbers).
Meh ureshii is known for being slow, fuck off.
ITT people who don't know the first from second amendment.
Government imposes tyrannical censorship laws. Citizenry takes up arms to defend their rights.
Washington would love this shit.
It's anti-censorship (1st) not anti-gun restrictions (2nd). The later would get raped by Japan because they do not have the 2nd amendment, despite having a very similar constitution compared to the US.
Sage for illiterate moron.
The idea of an armed citizenry is very alien to Japan, it hasn't been permissible for over 400 years for civilians to own most weaponry.
Of course, one could argue that it does present a second amendment message as well. The librarians would have gotten stomped out if they hadn't armed themselves to the teeth.
I must have watched the second episode of The Daughter of Twenty Faces half a dozen times by now. Nothing good besides Kurenai is being subbed regularly this season.
Paramilitary gun ownership != private gun ownership.
The library defense forces aren't government-run. From the sounds of it it's pretty much a bunch of ex-military soldiers and citizens who took up arms, which eventually coalesced into a military organisation with a solid command structure.
Doesn't mean they took all their weapons out of the closet. when governments start going to shit other governments are more than happy to help out the rebels, especially if the governments they're fighting have opposing agendas. Look the americans sold weapons to both the Iranians and the Taliban to help fight their wars. Whats to say it isn't the same here. No citizen would have enough guns nor enough ammunition to support themselves in a war with out greater organization and outside help.
