Just finished watching Legend of Galactic Heroes. Now planning to watch Saint Seiya. Is this show any good /a/?

Pic related.
>>
Yes.
>>
It's pretty much a really old version of Bleach.

So lots of resolve wins and no one dying?
>>
>>10290343
Unlike other pansy shws of this era, people died back in the day...

It was serious buisness.
>>
>>10290343

Pretty much. I mean, they revived every saint at least a dozen times.

it's the DBZ of latin america. shit was big, so i heard.
>>
Wow. Just flipped through the first episode. Pretty violent stuff. Saw a flash back of some kid get his ass kicked, an ear get ripped off and rock smashing. Is it like this through all 100+ episodes?
>>
>>10290391
DBZ was big in latinamerica too you know, years before you amerifags even knew about it.
>>
Is there a massive torrent of Saint Seiya with english subs? I never bothered to look, but now I want to watch the whole thing again
>>
>>10290391
>>latin america
Not really, shit was big all around the globe (except America), France, Spain and Italy come to mind.
>>
just watch 1 season since it's exactly the same plot during all of em (ZOMG the stupid goddess is in danger of dying lend me your cosmos my friend we don't have a day to save her).
I suggest you to watch the asgard season since it's considered the best of all and for once something made as filler was even better than original story.
>>
>>10290431

okay, so you're older than me and watched cash cow anime and got warped in before i did?

uh..... good job?
>>
>>10290411

>Is it like this through all 100+ episodes?

Yep. Those examples were pretty tame compared to the regular impalements and other brutal stuff later on.

Granted, medical science in the Saint Seiya world is awesome, that even after dying you'll be up and ready to get your ass kicked in the next story arc after spending the rest of the current arc in the hospital.

what a FAG you are.
It is in Spain and Latin America (Mexico especially) where this anime rocked fucking hard. Ironically, in Japan it was just another one of the bunch.

As for if its worth it... yes, has tons of GAR moments although the plot is fucking repetitive and one can't help but to wonder what superb medical insurance these guys had. Aside that, its awesome

Thats kind of disappointing considering how cool the first episode was. After watching LoGH, Rose of Versailles and the original Gundam, I was hoping this would be just as good.
>>
>>10290411
Pretty much, yeah. The flashbacks aren't constant, but you can expect a lot of child abuse whenever there's one. There isn't much mutilation either, but you can expect ridiculous amounts of blood in most major fights.
>>
Classic.

Oh, and Shun/Andromeda is a guy. Back when it was aired dubbed at my country, Shun was given a female voice and with that pink armor, everyone thought Shun was a girl...
>>
>>10290543
but his aniki was the MANLIEST and GAREST character of all!!!!!

Fuck yeah Phoenix!

It's cliche as fuck and as it has already been mentioned, all the arcs have the same basic premise.
But somehow, it is still actually pretty cool.

Nostalgia makes everything better.
>>
Saint Seiya is the kind of show you need to have watched as a kid.

Too bad you didn't grow up in Europe faggot.
>>
>>10290543

Shower scenes.

Hell, Shun's got more shower scenes than Saori. Then again, most of the male main cast has plenty of female fanservice moments than the rest of the female cast.
>>
>>10290509
No sir, YOU are the fag.
It was a big fucking hit in other countries as well, why else do you think there's so much fanworks from french fans? Heck, it was the frenchies who did that short clip of Hades animation years before Kurumada decided to get off his lazy ass and get it animated.

Protip, Saint Seiya was so huge in France that Japanese Saint Seiya related publications and Art Books featured interviews with the French staff that promoted the anime

No one gives a fuck about Latin America

Welcome to shonen.

Especially with thematic elements like "Fight for my friends" and such...those were the days, anon.

Wierd. Around that time, Hokuto was shown, too. Only it aired at an earlier time slot and had blood substituted for whiteout.
>>
almost al the golden saints get kill and end up being revived in saint seiya hades sanctuary (that's some spoilers, right there, lawd)
>>
no, it's not good. few anime are good compared to legend of the galactic heroes.

it's basically about the main characters getting nearly beaten to death by incredibly strong bad guys. but because they're so resolute and won't give up, the bad guys get impressed and stop beating them.
>>
>>10290729

LoGH is shonen?
>>
>>yes, has tons of GAR moments although the plot is fucking repetitive and one can't help but to wonder what superb medical insurance these guys had

>>medical insurance

they had insurance? is that why never really would die?

damn, i want some saint seiya unsurance.
