SOCIAL COMMENTARY ON THE AMERICAN ANIMU INDUSTRY
I WAS COMPLETELY SERIOUS!!!!!!!
1 episode of Fooly cooly. no extras. approximately 60 US.
fucking do research. US anime dvds are a goddamn godsend compared to Japan.
American anime DVDs aren't expensive.
They're actually ridiculously affordable.
Shigofumi and True Tears.
WHAT IS THIS "FOOLY COOLY" YOU SPEAK OF.
That's the Japanese industry, you idiot. The Japanese company is the one doing that.
That's not the American industry.
Fucking hell, you are a retard.
Compared to Japanese DVDs? Yep.
Compared to what I'd actually pay for them? Still expensive.
Another ZSZS thread?
Japanese prices for anime are just a trick because the otaku will still pay those prices. An illusion if you will.
Five episodes for the price of a meal-for-one is expensive to you?
Do you live in the ghetto? What do you want?

I want it to be broadcast on TV, of course.
Also: It's perfectly reasonable to not want to buy an anime DVD for an anime you didn't like. I wouldn't buy Rasario + Vampire unless it was like, 5 bucks at a local store... and even THEN I could think of better ways to spend money.
You buy what you like.
So do I, but free fansubs = TV.
The American DVDs are perfectly priced. If you're complaining about it, then I'm going to assume that you are living in the ghetto.
Despite what answerfag said, a lot of anime is disposable because it's good for a quick watch only once. Naming anime that can justifiable be bought and re-watch numerous times is kind of hard.
I will have to agree mostly here too. I've seen pretty fair anime prices when they're not at MSRP. Best Buy is a good example of this.
TENGEN TOPPA GURREN-LAGANN
speaking of buying animu, why can't Bartender get licensed? I'd buy that. So much garbage gets licensed nowadays.
Only reasonably priced because of the extras, comentary and otherwise content I didn't see when it aired. Once anime DVDs reach that level of extra shit, then I'll start buying anime in DVD form.
lucky star got licensed, i dont see why your complaining
>Naming anime that can justifiable be bought and re-watch numerous times is kind of hard.
Agreed. However I must mention Azumanga. Bamboo Blade too.
I got the whole fucking Azumanga box set for 30 bucks.
American anime is priced perfectly.
I didn't say you couldn't name any, what I meant was that it's hard to continually named shows like that.
I got the first and second seasons of GTO for a total of 84 dollars, shitty subtitles and even shittier dub included. I also picked up the REC DVD.
Haven't bought for a while after that, because my budget is limited. Fansubs are the way to go.
