Oh man, I haven't enjoyed watching an anime in long time. I have no negatives. Great film up and down.
Time Through Leapt Who Girl The
SAD ANIMU IS FUCKING SAD
welcome to the club
What? It's not a sad film, I mean she cried and all but the dude's just a friend
but happy end is happy.
Toki Wo Kakeru Shoujo was pretty good. I bawwwwwww'd
It was good, it's not a masterpiece or anything like that though.
One of the best anime movies out there, but when stacked up to actual movies it hits an 8/10 at best.
Man, a great bittersweet anime
I wanted her and the red head to kiss so bad. SO BAD!
HAPPY END FUCKING WHERE? seriously
i actually think it beats anything live action i've seen
Watch more movies.
What was up with her aunt knowing everything?
Well expected from someone who doesn't get out much.
from what i gather, her aunt is supposed to be the girl from the live action Tokikake movie (it's really old btw)
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time us a sequel to a popular novel written in the 70's where her aunt is the protagonist in the same world. And she had already experienced what the girl was experiencing.
And by 70's, I mean 60's.
Great story, I have absolutely no complaints. The constant crying was kind of annoying at times, though. Oh well, people cry in real life too so I guess it was kind of realistic in a way. I cry sometimes for no real reason just for the heck of it.
>I cry sometimes for no real reason just for the heck of it.
I'm here for you.
Anything similar to this?
I loved her personality. I know a lot of tomboyish chicks IRL, but they are slight attention whores that "hate how girls act around each other." Makoto was comfortable in her own skin, and can take a hit.
Good movie, best parts were her constant tries to crush her own skull against hard, blunt objects. And rolling down the street.
The end was shit though, she's supposed to waste her entire life for some guy whom she'll never see again?
The song at the end hinted at that she would fall in love again but that she'd always treasure her first love.
I loved it. Ending made me fucking bawww, though I really liked it. Good to see something where everyone doesn't live unrealistically happily ever after.
Voices of a Distant Star.
Whisper of the Heart
Ocean Waves/Umi ga Kikoeru
for more coming of age goodness
Millennium Actress if you want something with a similar romance/tragedy.
...why did they change the character designs?
There were a hell of a lot of plot holes though.
Why was the painting important?
What was the Aunt's story? I know she's the protagonist of the novel but no-ones read that.
What's going to happen when Makoto and Chiaki meet in the future? Are they going to get together when he's in his teens and Makoto's an old wrinkly grandma?
Go and read the novel, seriously.
this thread is girly
Too GIRLY for you?
>Why was the painting important?
Why is any painting important?
>What was the Aunt's story? I know she's the protagonist of the novel but no-ones read that.
She could timeleap in her youth. It was implied by the movie. You don't need to know any more than that, and it's not important that you do. If you do want to know more: Read the book.
>What's going to happen when Makoto and Chiaki meet in the future? Are they going to get together when he's in his teens and Makoto's an old wrinkly grandma?
They won't meet in the future. Ever.
those aren't plot holes...
No MEGABUSTERS references? Come on /a/.
"Plot hole" now means "Shit I don't understand because I'm dumb."
Where do I readed the novel? Is the live movie good?
best sister ever, she can have my pudding any time
but Chiaki said he'd wait for her, she said she'd 'run' there.
Nothing that says he can't pick up a recharge in 30XX and drop back to the 2010s or something.
MAKOTO IMOUTO MOOOOAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or Yuri. Yuri's fine too.
seriously, the "don't die nee-san" scene was moe...
This anime is epic. One of my faves, no doubt.
I want this to get dubbed and seen in America. There are some anime the world has to see
