I loved:

Fullmetal Alchemist, This Ugly Yet Beautiful World, Speed Grapher

OK with: Cowboy Bebop & Samurai Champloo (wanted a better plot)

And tons of animes that I rent I think are totally lame. Any ideas for a good series? I liked the depth of the characters in Fullmetal and Speed Grapher.
>>
GitS, Outlaw Star if you don't mind older stuff
>>
>This Ugly Yet Beautiful World

I really don't know what to tell you. May I suggest you eat a bowl of shit? I think you may enjoy it!
>>
If your fine with manga there's Battle Angel Alita.

Boku no Pico
Pico to Chico
Battletoads
Bible Black
>>
Texhnolyze (First episode is kind of weird, but it get's better after that. Gang wars and Mafia.)
Last Exile (Airships and whatnot.)
Ergo Proxy (Crazy androids and mutants.)
>>
Serial Experiments Lain is more cyberpunk than sci-fi, but still good enough to check out.
>>
>noco

Just get out

noko is spelled like that, not the way you spelled it.

This has to be a subtle troll or something.

OP here.. I just added Texhnolyze to my netflix queue, it does look really good.

Does Ergo Proxy get better after the first DVD? I started getting annoyed with it lol when everything was a flashback scene and nothing seemed to be happening. Plus I watch them with my GF a lot who has less patience with this stuff then me. We are both fans of Fullmetal and Speed Grapher though.

Gilgamesh was pretty cool. Not a purchase, but definitely worth seeing. Also, you are a faggot for not seeing Stand Alone Complex.

Seconding Outlaw Star. FMA is perhaps my favorite anime, so I know where you're coming from. Get OS, it's a pretty fun ride.
>>
>>10268351
Yes and no, personally i like it because its different then most series and has a ton of philosophical elements in it. However i still have 3 episodes left and it can be very boring, but this isnt a series for DBZ fans anyway.
>>
>>10268366

Sweet, just added to netflix.
>>
I never understood why it's called Boku no Pico if the main guy is called Mokkun. Shouldn't it be Mokkun no Pico?
>>
>>10268351
The beginning of Ergo Proxy has very little to do with the ending. I expected Scifi CSI when I started, and by the end it's about something completely different. The girl isn't even really the main character by the end. Still worth watching though.
>>
>>10268355

Sweet, those all look great! Except Air Gear... in line skating?

ITT trolls

True true. And I really liked graphics quality of Ergo Proxy. That was totally awesome. I'll have to rent the 2nd dvd and give it another try.
>>
>>10268365

Haha, will remedy.
>>
btw, it's not sci-fi exactly, but Paranoia Agent is really, really good. We seem to have similar tastes, and thus you will probably like it.

Also, Noein.

Forgot to mention Noein. You'll be hooked within two minutes, guaranteed.

btw, it goes first movie --> SAC --> SAC Second GiG --> Innocence movie --> Solid State Society movie

Innocence will make your jaw drop with visuals, then fuck your brain while you're still in shock.
>>
>>10268555

Fucking sweet. Noein looks awesome. All this should hold me over for the next year lol.

I remember when my GF and I discovered Fullmetal, we watched a dvd every other day for a month!
>>
>>10268591

I hope you don't really think that the GitS movies and SAC take place in the same continuity.
>>
>>10268555

OMG yeah I saw Paranoai Agent. That one was fucking awesome too!
>>
>>10268224

Try Gungrave...
>>
>>10268707
Second. Also not really sci-fi except for like five episodes, but a very good crime drama with a sci-fi twist.
>>
Again, thanks everyone for the great recommendations :)
>>
Ghost in the Shell is a definite must watch. Just remember that the movies and the series are on totally different continuities, simply using the same characters.
Noein is pretty badass, but to explain the plot whatsoever is pretty much a spoiler.
Lain is good, but definitely not for light entertainment.
Ergo Proxy is kind of weak as a complete project, but a lot of its individual episodes are freaking fantastic.
Also, 12 Kingdoms. It's not sci-fi whatsoever, but it's goddamn fantastic, and you should watch it anyway.
>>
Well since we're marginalizing the sci-fi aspect more and more as this topic continues:

Elfen Lied (inb4 sux, but don't watch with your gf)
Gatekeepers 21
Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi
Wolf's Rain
Big O (do it, faggot, it is great)
Now and Then, Here and There (also not to be watched with gf)
