How does anime subbing work? On what day do most animes usually come out in Japan? Is it Saturday morning deal?

It doesn't matter when the show airs, someone records it and uploads it on online. Fansubbing groups download this raw, and add their fansubs via encoding to create a multitude of different filetypes. After completion, they upload for us to download.

The Stork bring it.

Also, if your imagination somehow can't think up how fansubbing works, you're fucking retarded. Isn't the process obvious?

What if everybody forgets to record an episode at the same time?

Then they fucked up. But the people who do it seem dedicated.

Most of the anime /a/ talks about airs around midnight to 3 AM Japan time someday during the week.

Hope that the show re-airs later on? With automated recording this is unlikely and it'd be like everyone forgot to record the latest House episode.
