What does /a/ think of Suisei no Gargantia?
Personally I thought it was bloody good, I'm looking forward to S2.
It was sluts.
Been considering picking this up because I really liked psycho pass.
Is it really that bad?
I enjoyed it. The OVAs were kinda shit though
The Alliance was right, squids are jerks.
i enjoyed it, but in no way do i want a second season of it
Pretty dman mediocre after all was said and done but such delicious character designs.
Still awaiting these two doing ---
---> this in some filler flashback episode/OVA.
TOO MUCH FUCKING DIGITAL
It's okay. My beef about it was that most of the girls aside from maybe Ridget did nothing of plot significance and were just there for eye candy.
The plot itself is good, if not a little cliche, but if you're expecting some space drama then get out. It's more like if a soldier crash-landed in a totally peaceful country.
Also one of the girls is named Melty, which is one of the best anime names I have ever heard right behind Caesar Clown, REO Speedwagon, and half of the new names Tite Kubo has given his characters.
>My beef about it was that most of the girls aside from maybe Ridget did nothing of plot significance and were just there for eye candy.
Very true, Amy and Ridget were the only women that served a purpose, oh and the pirate woman.
The manga (some sort of BD bonus? Only 3 chapters IIRC) had Ridget wearing the dancer costume(not dancing) Bellows wearing the dancer costume AND dancing. But yeah, it's not moving.
I dislike how they shoehorn how the 3rd party ( those lived on earth) made the right choices and somehow fixed the sun and how they brought up squid = human it was kinda pointless
And the final fight should have been captain vs Ledo
Could be good if it was more about exploring and all those characters that stay background. and less retaded retarded shit like muh pirate rights, this is just beyond of any stupidy.
What a fucking waste.
Leftist garbage is this entire anime.
"It's a sin to kill."
Not enough SENMETSU.
Check your hominid privilege, scum.
Are you kidding? It was fucking garbage.
I still find weird that Ledo Senmetsu'd a whole bunch of pirates without batting an eyelid, but when the squids that's been trying to kill us are humans, it's too much for him.
It was shit. Only thing it had going for it is motherfucking Chamber.
Well he had some character development at that point.
Chamber and Pinion end up being the only two good characters. Ledo has potential but they ruin him. Crap anime. Nice eye-candy.
>and half of the new names Tite Kubo has given his characters.
It was a decent anime.
I do not regret watching it.
I liked it, but I'm not very sure about an S2.
I thought there will be a sequel, not a second season.
At that time he wasn't seeing life entirely as a military operation anymore.
Why did nobody pick up Bellows manga?
We got a few chapters of the official manga several months ago, but nobody bothered with this.
The first tankobon came out a few days ago...
Dropped after episode 3. Fuck this shit. All the Gargantia hippies deserved to get raped and killed.
Team rocket pirates too.
got bored halfway through episode 6,
shift deleted it
Hoping that S2 will be a prequel, or a sequel set years later with Ledo's descendants as the MC's.
That's kind of a main point in the story. He goes from being a military dog. He have been taught that he is to fight squid things and it's to save humans. That gave him a mission and a reason, he needed nothing more. He saw the pirates as a threat to the rest of the humans, those he didn't hesitate to kill them - they were like the squids for him. He starts to become less of a military dog on Gargantia and at time he figured squids are somewhat human he was at the point where he didn't see things in black and white anymore, those he couldn't just see them as an enemy for the heck of it like he did with the pirates. Add to this that his whole reason to fight were the squids being humans enemy - this reason suddenly collapsed as he was no longer just a human fighting for humans but also a human fighting against humans aswell.
Very underwhelming. It seems like they had a good thing going and then did nothing with it.
Second is more likely since they must brough back Chambro, his descendant piloting him would be best outcome.
They released the first chapter of the Bellows spinoff for free on a webreader, so at least there's that.
I thought it was going to be good but I was severely disappointed. The only episodes I remember liking much were when that Robot started killing all of the baby fish people.
It was supposed to be Heart of Darkness: the anime.
But it failed to live up.
Also cute squidgirl would betray race for.
I get the reason but squids are less human and more destructive then the pirate ever are. So it seem retarded as a agreement it would saying I should feel terrible for killing gorilla since we shared a common ancestor
It was never supposed to be grimdark.
I want a chamber model but there doesn't seem to be any.
I just know that the bellydancer gif is from this show so it must be the greatest show of all time.
Quite promising start, but wasted its opportunity to make me care enough about the setting/characters for anything that followed to be effective.
Motherfuck, where can I get it?
No offense intended, but it doesn't seem like you get the reason. The important thing is his character development - he had become less of a killing machine and more of a human you could say. Also, it's two different things.
As for pirates he made humans that were criminal and dangerous his enemy.
As for the squids, it were his eternal enemy that suddenly turned out to be what he was trying to protect.
As you can see, there are several factors in play that makes it pretty understandable - it's not retarded if you pick up what's actually happening in the show - not just what is straight up told, but also the things you have to look for yourself like character development and how the characters backstory plays into it.
That would be good. Hopefully there would be a little bit more action, Galactic Alliance remnants coming to Earth (thus messing around soo very much) and space squids coming ala Tyranid style.
First few episodes were pretty good and showed a lot of promise for the future, but then it just fell flat on its ass.
I still enjoyed it greatly, but mostly because of the sluts.
it's probably not yet released, but I don't know where I got the pic.
The Beach Queens that were announced when the anime aired aren't all out yet.
Also got this (poor man's substitutes).
>Without best Chamber
>it's probably not yet released, but I don't know where I got the pic.
Righto, thanks anyway, I'll keep an eye out
looks like I don't need to watch it then, thanks
Urobutcher said always said it won't be dark. Just retards on /a/ never listen to
They know they can't leave him there.
It was a preview at WonFest, so you'll probably be waiting a while before it comes out.
>Bring him back
His sacrifice meant nothing, it becomes whitewashed, and thus shit
>Leave him dead
It's automatically shit right from the start
They can't win
This skin tone doesn't fit Ledo's silver hair.
Unless there would be a AI based off him...
It was okay but I'm really interested in what they do with S2.
the other 2 mecha shows were betterbut that's just like, my opinion
Just Ledo can't be pilot anymore since he move on.
Descendant in future is best outcome.
I kinda get that ledo growth as a character and how he see thing now less black and white. there is also the fact that everything he learn was a lie.
However like chamber pointed out the squid are no longer human and how ledo also point out the squid are not attacking cause the humans now are still caveman and not worth attacking.
>rules of engagement
How is Ledo going to function without chamber?
All the questions, Hope the OST Is good as the first.
I hope Bellows becomes more relevant in S2.
That last part you said is quite important aswell - they are not hostile toward the humans on earth. On earth squids and humans coexist quite well, and that is something that makes see them as less of devils offspring and more as just a living being like himself. Also he sees the squid children, making him realize further that they are not just monsters trying to kill humans, but living beings like himself.
So all in all I don't find it weird that he could attack pirates at one point and later on was conflicted with killing squids
That pussy is bigger than a mans balls.. I call trap
yeah, just found the page:
This. This show should have taken the one piece route. Exploring the last emerged lands, discovering the past of the earth through clues thanks to salvaging, not fucking videos with a narrator that explains you everything. Contact with the galactic alliance, battle of the hippies against mechas, hippies counterattack thanks to the technology and the few overpowered magnetic canon they found undersea.
So much wasted potential.
The show could be about people discovering and salvaging Chamber years later after Ledo and crew are either dead or just too old and busted to do anything but make a cameo. Really the humans weren't shit. They're easily replaceable. We all know Brobot is the main draw.
Best part about the show was the /pol/ tier threads on /a/
It was awesome i really loved the OP
