How does /a/ feel about the Angel Beats! VN incorporating eroge elements? Personally, I feel like it'll cheapen the emotional impact the series had on me, but that could be me just being a little bitch
Spare me the ">liking entry level anime" shit, please
Which eroge elements? The game is 100% all-ages.
Good news you don't need to think about it
From what I'd heard/seen, there were at least moderately NSFW parts to the game, like panty shots and the like
Just seems really unnecessary
Is there an official release date?
How could they include panty shots for my beloved Iwasawa?
As long as they don't do lewd Yurippe or Kanade I'll be fine with it.
Also, will there be gay routes?
AB is shit
I don't think so, but if I'm not mistaken, the first chapter is supposed to come out in the spring
>fanservice just seems unnecessary
You must be new to these parts.
It just kinda feels like a really weird thing to add into a story that was in absolutely no way sexual in nature
And yeah, I think you can go in a gay direction with it
It just doesn't fit into the AB! story imo
Like, can you imagine a Clannad VN with fanservice? *Not saying AB! is Clannad-level sad, but still*
Is that... official?
At least they don't have lewd Kanade.... right? Please don't tell me all the girls have panty shots
It's funny how people sperg about VN with ero scenes where "serious" literature and movies in the west have tons of graphic sex scenes and no one bats an eye.
It's like anime is your only reference point or something.
SEASON 2 WHEN?
Just the way the world works. Most eroge are fine without the H-scenes, or could've been better without having to incorporate H-scenes, and yet...
Also, AB isn't even that "sad" by eroge standards. If it were anyone other than Key, it'd probably be a bona fide eroge. Honestly, I'd prefer that
At least Kanade and Yui don't have pantyshots.... right?
Not sure about Kanade, but I'm guessing it's not impossible.
Right after Nichijou's
I mean, there are definitely sadder anime/VN/manga/etc that include it in some way or another, but at least to me, it seems like it's serving no real purpose
The story progressed without any kind of sexual reference or implication *aside from the "Are you gay?" moments if you can even count them*
So the idea of putting them in the VN seems like they're just going to be there for the sake of them being there
The purpose of fanservice is fanservice. I don't really see the big deal with it.
Bad taste anon, bad taste. Inappropriate to. If this were a comedy or a romance series, fanservice would be fine. But a series as sad as Angel Beats? It's like when Nagisa died in Clannad, then TORCH suddenly played afterwards. Highly inappropriate.
Again, not really that sad. Plus, they'll probably only have a couple of them near the beginning in the common material, and you'll have forgotten about it by the time you start digging into the meat of the characters' routes.
>If this were a comedy
Good thing there was tons of comedy in it. You act as if they'll be throwing out fanservice during the sad moments. Why not add fanservice to all the scenes that, you know, were fun and comedic?
You clearly haven't read VNs.
There are many drama VNs with a very sad story that still have sex scenes. Sex is part of life and I don't see how anything NSFW is inappropriate just because it's a drama.
I just want to romance Iwasawa and Yui. That's why the first volume will be the best.
Little Busters anime also had panty shots. Not sure if only Komari had them though.
Also, usually in VNs, lewd scenes are at the end, not the beginning. They're kind of like a reward for playing.
But they were intended to be eroges from the starts. Angel Beats was already stated to be all-ages.
Even in a visual novel Chaa still gets shafted by being given no eyes. Also Yuri seems happiest with Hinata, despite her attitude.
Prequel really makes me feel like there might potentially be a Hinata and Yuri route.
>Also, usually in VNs, lewd scenes are at the end, not the beginning. They're kind of like a reward for playing.
Ero scenes, yes. Ecchi CGs, don't have a rule or anything. I would assume, based on what I've read, that they'd be mostly, if not entirely, contained within the first 50% of the novel
We Little Busters now.
Why did Maeda let PA Works fuck up his story so bad? This should have been a VN from the get-go, and then PA Works could've made their lackluster adaptation afterwards
Actually, when I look at the baseball team that Hinata assembled, it really was a shadow of the former team, where Otonashi replaced Ooyama and Yuri got replaced by Yui. I guess that's part of the reason why Yuri was so unsatisfied at the end of that episode.
Are we having a TK route?
Shut the fuck up, retard. The reason AB visual novel is a reality now is thanks to the huge success of the anime.
get chance luck
Please tell me there will be Yusa route in the VN
Yeah, because that's how it works. Kanon, Air, Clannad, Little Busters, and Rewrite would've never existed were it not for those anime
All those were visual novels first, sherlock. AB is the first and only Key IP that started as anime.
Which means it forged the success from the ground and still managed to outsell all the others, without help from already existing fanbase.
>All those were visual novels first, sherlock. AB is the first and only Key IP that started as anime.
Thanks for pointing that out. What did you think I was trying to say?
Angel Beats is the only Key work that got this weird backwards adaptation, which I don't get.
VN begets anime adaptation = fine
But when does an anime ever get a VN adaptation. It's silly. MC's backstory and Kanade route are already, well, spoiled, basically.
>MC's backstory and Kanade route are already, well, spoiled, basically.
Yes, but you wont see that till 2015-2016. Besides no one said it will play exactly like the anime.
