Holy tripping balls.
I knew this would suck but I never thought it would suck THAT MUCH. WTF were they thinking?
Astro Boy director.
FUCK YEAH 1960'S ANIMU.
Same shit that happened with the air movie.
Dangos, now with 40% less cuteness.
I fucking loled.
At least there were some good Sunohara moments.
FUCK YEAH, BEIJING OLYMPICS !
Except the AIR movie was actually good.
I like how most characters were almost totally out of characters (WTF KYOU). At least Sunohara's got the strongest lunch thanks to that.
No it wasn't you stuuuuupid faggot.
Yes it was. And until you provide arguments on why you think it wasn't, this won't get anywhere.
Did they change where she gives birth in the movie or something?
shit sucks gtfo
No it wasn't. And until you provide arguments on why you think it was, this won't get anywhere.
Kyou is TOEI UGLY
Ushio is dead and you should feel bad.
Yes. And that's not the only thing they changed.
Well, >>10227708 started off by saying it sucks. So the burden of proof isn't on me.
Lol if you can't see whats wrong with the Air (and clannad movie) then you opinion is invalid by default. Now gtfo tripfaggot
shit sucks gtfo
Fine then, here you go:
Air the movie (lol Toei) has:
-tried to cram too many shit into 90 minutes
-gave the protagonist guy a shitty personality, that completely differs from the source material
I liked it, a welcome variant of Nagisa's route. I was expecting another rehash of the same story, but it was somewhat original and kept me interested. My only gripe would have to be the constant double takes.
I'm surprised someone else thought of that.
i cross-eyed just to shat bricks
I disagree for the most part. While some events, especially by the end, came very suddenly, everything flowed pretty well as both Yukito & Misuzu and What's-his-face & Kana's stories progressed slowly in parallel to one another.
>-tried to cram too many shit into 90 minutes
It didn't all of the side characters you've seen in the AIR visual novel and TV series were rewritten as mere cameos. The director knew full well that a movie is a fundamentally different format from a visual novel, so he did all that was necessary to maintain a good pace.
>-gave the protagonist guy a shitty personality, that completely differs from the source material
That's entirely subjective. He's just more broody and bleak. However, Misuzu was also made with less Down Syndrome and much more mature than in her previous incarnations.
I can see why some would prioritize adaptation loyalty over all, but personally, I prefer good storytelling, and I felt the movie did much better than the TV series did (lol Yukito suddenly turns into a crow?).
I rather enjoyed it too. and I like how there's no magical revival hacks.
