Would anyone like to share their experience using Fedex (through FromJapan's proxy service) to ship to the United States? Their rates are much cheaper than EMS, according to the shipping estimate calculator.

An MFC user claims that Fedex charged them outrageous taxes, so I'm a little concerned.

>>102266478
Just read Yahoo! Auction Japan's FAQs on how to set it up. Basic accounts are limited to 3 alert setups, but you can easily get around it by creating a few dummy accounts with e-mail addresses that redirect to the same e-mail (e.g. by inserting a period) and set more up on those. You can set up alerts for when specific sellers lists items, by keywords, by excluding keywords, and boolean searches. You can also select time of day for mass alerts (up to twice a day) or immediate alerts on any item.
>>
>>102266522
Third season is already confirmed though.

If you are afraid, get two figures and blast away, do take pictures for research purposes.
Or get a bargain bin figure from a respectable manufacturer, put it a bucket with water and soap (the same one you are planning to use) and track the progress. You should see some results from now until the day the figure, you want to do it on, is released.

The problem with anything fucking shipped to Chile (hello living there kek) is that the customs don't give a fuck. They literally have packages sitting there for days since they are understaffed and underpaid.

For EMS packages, it takes more than the average time (+3-5 more days added on to the ems average of 3-5 days) and it can even take up ten days.
I hate living here too. Can't wait to get outta there in a few years.

Does anyone know any good places/methods to sell anime pvc statues without boxes? Back when I first started collecting I kept all the boxes, but then I ran out of space so like an idiot I got rid of all of them and now I'm starting to want to sell some of my old shit, but have no way to transport it. >good places/methods
State very clearly in product description/condition that there is NO BOX.
You're out of luck in terms of netting a good profit unless you find that one idiot buyer who, like you in your younger days, doesn't care about the outer box.

Which brings us to
>how to pack
Pack like how the figurine came. Use plastic wrap and/or clean, small plastic bags/sheets for each part of the figure to prevent parts from accidentally rubbing on each other during transportation. Wedge plastic wrap between layers of the figure's clothes if possible. You want to prevent paint transfer. Next, bubble wrap all over the figure. You can't have too much. Tape firmly. If you're able to do so, construct a smaller box for the figure and put that inside of the outer, final shipping box. Give your item a few inches of space minimum in all 6 directions in the boxes. Pour in the packing peanuts or AmiAmi paper to fill the space. What you want to ensure is that the figure doesn't shift around the box during transportation. When you close the box, shake it. If it's rattling, that means something is shifting and you need to pack/tape things down better.
If you're afraid of throwing the box across the room or at least a few feet, that means you haven't packed it securely enough and need to put more protective material in there.

Bubble wrap doesn't do squat to protect against dents or blunt impact, it's only good for preventing most abrasions.

It means late 2014 because that is the time frame that the manufacturer gave and no one outside of their company really knows exactly when other than it's sometime in the latter half of 2014, can be in September, can be on December 31. You're better off estimating an "earlier" release date than December or asking the manufacturer directly for clarification with your broken nipponese.

Sounds like someone hasn't played Rorona. Trying to go back into Rorona for trophies is mind numbing. Got too used to the refined system of Totori and Meruru that playing Rorona is a headache with it's insane strict time management. Still, Rorona has the best character events out of the 3 trilogy.

Yes because as long as you budget everything, you are guaranteed 100% to have enough money for literally anything that can happen, even if you just start budgeting.

Indeed, tracking your spending is important, in order to not spend money you don't have. Money you'll have to spend in the future *is not* money you can spend now. If you pre-order a figure, estimate the final cost and consider that money gone.

Really? They don't give you the full bonus if they cancel stuff? I could have sworn they did.

And yeah, I almost ran into the same problem. Singles were 24hrs or 1-3 days -- the set took like 16 days to get in stock.

For some reason the "sets" must be specially wrapped SKUs instead of just grabbing one each of the singles. As stupid as that is.

Even more stupid: They're the ones that decided to have a 10x point sale on sets to begin with. Why have a sale on things that they have a really hard time stocking? Pretty much any Set you order is 7-21 days AFAIK.

Speaking of which: I've got 900pts to spend on this months order before they expire, which is kinda nice. And of course there is another 5000yen gets 900pts sale right now, as well as 10x points on all comics until the 23rd.

I'm running out of full orders to place with doing this every month, though. Unless I decided to catch up on TWGOK (only up to Vol10)

Nisekoi also took over 2 weeks to stock, but that isn't surprising Vol10 would be sold out with the anime airing.

This is what they wrote in their email :

このたびのご注文は商品合計金額が5,515円となり、期間中に注文した対象商品の出荷金額合計が4,000〜5,999円のため、650ポイントの付与を予定しております。

At least I can make a new order and hopefully get the 900 points for reaching 5000 yen. When does that end? I hope Sakura Trick 4 and Forbidden Scrollery 2 gets in stock before the 23rd so I can make the order for the points.

Am I just more likely to get bootlegs or something?
>>
>>102292557
Bootlegs and retard high prices for old figs, although they have decent sales sometimes

Its totally fine if you aren't retarded, I've bought about 4 figs on amazon and all have been genuine.

Use your head, same with ebay, deals can be had when you factor in shipping.
>>
>>102292557
Because amazon/eBay are bootleg central, and it's not hard to get what you're looking for through other places. People don't use them as last resort and advocate the place, but don't listen to them.

The crossbars of the windows or whatever they're called get in the way. I'd probably just use that for books or something else and try to get a different display case for your figures.

They haven't given you the bonus points yet is all. If you read the fine print, they reserve the right to award them up to 45 days later. I usually get them around 30-35 days after the order date.

You should eventually see 3 things related to the order: The line for the base 1% points you earn on orders. A second line for the points earned on the 10x point sale. And eventually a third line detailing the bonus points rewarded for an order total over X amount.
>>
>>102292446
Also: As long as you place the order before the 23rd, it counts even if they are on backorder. (Assuming they come in stock within 21days then, of course)
>>
>>102294578
Oh. I thought the campaign points replace the 10x points. Well, that's quite a lot of points then.

>>102294610
Sakura Trick 4 is a preorder unfortunately, which doesn't apply to the campaign I believe. Actually, not too sure about that since it still shows up as 10x points. I know preorders didn't apply to the 1000 point campaign. Where is the 5000 yen for 900 point campaign you speak of, by the way? That's the main reason why I thought about the preorder thing. I can easily reach 5k yen without preorders though.
>>
>>102293319
Yeah, I can't find it on the site either, but I got an email for it. Lasts until the 23rd, just like the comic sale.

I know she's popular, but she isn't that popular right, it's not gonna be 10 minutes after she goes on sale... even so with her being #400 surely GSC have made more than enough of her to deal with demand.
>>
>>102294713
Nope. As long as the deals aren't of the same type, they stack. Also, be aware that any discounts count against any bonuses you may earn.

So if you use a large stack of points and a coupon off the order total. The final subtotal is what is used to determine your bonus points on that order. As well as the points you earn off the comics. (So if it was a 5000yen order reduced to 3000yen of comics, the 10x sale would award you 300pts then, not 500 AFAIK.)

Made an order when, and on what?
On comics during the current 10x point sale on comics?

If so: You should get 50pts for the regular 1% + 500pts for the 10x point sale on comics. And theoretically 900pts for the order 5000yen or more. Total of 1450pts then.

I'm not sure if you have to be part of the ad mailing list to qualify for the bonus points or not. If you aren't I recommend doing it unless its automatic. I honestly don't remember what I did.

Also: You can get insane deals on ebooks. They basically give them away for free. I constantly get 200yen coupons in email for buying ebooks. And you get 35x points on all ebooks. It works great for light novels, as you can cheat with KanjiTomo OCR to read faster.
>>
>>102295151

Yeah, LNs are a lot harder than manga. I started reading Kara no Kyokai a week ago and there's at least a few words I have to look up on every page. Using tools is a good way to go until you're good enough to ditch it, it's definitely not something you want to be using forever though.

I don't read them, but I really want to. I went to BookOff the other day and saw them. It interested me a lot, so now I'm looking at buying some. I plan on buying 恋騎士Purely☆Kiss由宇の願い because I like the character and wanted to play the game. Also buying 魔王さまと妖精さんは勇者にはデレない!? since the artist is the one that drew the picture on my tapestry. I have a ton of potential reading material, and now I found something else (adult light novels) that will motivate me even more.

Unfortunately, since I don't know much Japanese, I have no idea which ones I should buy. I'm really going by the cover or looking at what the pictures are if they are on exhentai. Most are girls with boobs too big for my tastes though, so I'm trying to look for ones with flat chested girls. I then have to hope it ends up being something I'd enjoy reading, but it will be a year or two before I even get to read it.
