What do you think about the new Yu-Gi-Oh!?
CV: Ono Kenshuu
A 2nd Year Middle School Student who loves to entertain people. Even though he is kind of on the short side, he has a tough body with which to hone his skills in Action Duels with. His dream is to become an “Entertainment Duelist” and give people smiles from his Duels.
CV: Inamura Yuuna
Yuya’s childhood friend and someone who gives very powerful pep talks. Her father runs the “Yuushuujuku” and she and Yuya spend their time there to hone their Dueling skills.
CV: Hosoya Yoshimasa
The second CEO of the huge Leo Corporation. He is also a Super Elite Duelist with a genius brain.
Fabulous, as long as he is not a scrub and they don't have to explains the basics of the game.
will he ignore the rules because his hair is green?
Also what are they gonna do now, play card games on hippos?
Well I will start watching it. To see how it goes. I could never follow Zexal. I didn't manage to like any single character of that season.
But the basics are fucking complicate this time.
Major Rule Changes Coming:
The player going first cannot draw on the first turn!
Both players can both have a Field Spell Card on the field, simultaneously!
1. There are two new Pendulum Zones on the field
2. There are new Pendulum Monsters with "Scales" to the left and right of the card (the red and blue things)
You can place them in the Pendulum Zones, if you do they becomes Spells instead of monsters differnet pendulum monsters have different scale numbers
3. Once you have 1 pendulum monster in each p zone, you can perform a pendulum summon - you take the numbers between the two scale numbers, in this case 1 and 8, so 2-7
4. In this turn you can now special summon any number of monsters from your hand 2-7 times with that level(?) and you can only do this one time, so you can't summon something now, draw some, and then summon some more later in the same turn, also when pendulum monsters die you can play them face-up in your extra deck, when you perform a pendulum summon you can summon 1 of them from your extra
Not Ono Kenshuu, It's Ono Kenshou. The dude who voiced Kuroko (Kuroko no basuke) and Ren Hakuryuu from Magi
I hate how they carry over the dual color hair thing from Zexal. It makes the show feel more like an extension of Zexal rather than a new YuGiOh.
Also, Pendulum summon doesn't sound as cool as Synchro or Xyz. But eh, we'll see.
what are you talking about?
Just normal duel now but the monster and the impact are real. By real I meant fucking real, not just shock wave like in Zexal.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, set to premiere this spring in Japan, will introduce fans to Action Duels, where characters and monsters interact. The newest star, Yuya, is a 14-year-old boy learning to become an “entertainment duelist” at one of the many Preparatory Schools children attend to hone their skills and become professional duelists. Yuya duels using the Pendulum Summon, which provides access to many high-level monsters.
What the fuck it's a completely different game now
So he is going to be Jaden/Judai 2?
I don't think he would be that edgy
Best series is GX.
Best character is MANJOUME THUNDER.
Prove me wrong.
Multiple colors used to apply only to the main character. Now it's applied to everyone.
that opinion is so shit it proves itself wrong
Yu-Gi-Oh! is ruined!
Can you write that in normal english now? I don't understand jackshit.
what the fuck? i might need to watch this to understand it.
dng must be up in flames
Pendulum Summon requires two Pendulum Monsters that can be either monsters or spell cards, you can play them as spell cards in a new Pendulum Zone where they have special effects. If you have a Pendulum Monster in both zones, once per turn you can do a Pendulum Summon, which special summons any number of monsters from your hand whose levels are in the range between the "Pendulum Scale" numbers of the two monsters. So if you have one that's 8 and one that's 1, you can special summon any number of monsters in your hand that are between level 2 and level 7. Also, if a pendulum monster is destroyed it goes face up in your extra deck, and on your next pendulum summon if it fits into the two pendulum monsters' scale range you can special summon it back from your extra deck as a monster.
It's YOLO: The Mechanic
How can it go to the extra deck if your extra deck is already maxed out (has 15 monsters)? Also if you place the Pendulum monsters as Monsters and not in the Pendulum zone, their effect doesn't activate?
Also isn't this broken as fuck because you can, for example, have 3 level 5 monsters in your hand, and you can summon all 3 of them in the same fucking turn? There might be new spells or traps which counter these monsters. Not to mention if they are in the pendulum zone you can destroy them with MST or some other similar card.
>she and Yuya spend their time there to hone their Dueling skills
So a primary female character that duels? That doesn't sound too bad.
You can put two Pendulum monsters in the "Pendulum Zones" (two S/T zones only for Pendulum monsters) and they act like Continuous Spells. Both Pendulum monsters have a special number on them. Once per turn, you can special summon all cards in your hand with a level between the two numbers of the Pendum monsters. So it's YOLO: the mechanic
konami lost it already
I can imagine black hole getting the ban again.
That is really a guy isn't it?
On one hand that's a pretty interesting new system. On the other, Xyz monsters exist and the game just broke even more.
Oh how I yearn for pre-synchro era yugioh.
>for example, have 3 level 5 monsters in your hand, and you can summon all 3 of them in the same fucking turn
Yeah sure, thing is if you are running so many high-level monsters and are not playing Hieratics you will get a lot of dead hands. Not to mention swarming from the hand and running into a TT or BTH means you just lost the game
>The player going first cannot draw on the first turn
Why? The first player can't attack so that's enough of a disadvantage already
>Both players can both have a Field Spell Card on the field, simultaneously
This is just retarded, that makes Field spells continuous as they will stay on the field even when your opponent plays his Field. Also how will they show that visually in the anime? Will one side of the field have one terrain and the other side the other field?
>Oh how I yearn for pre-synchro era yugioh.
>Perfect Circle vs DDT
>no Archetypes viable
>Why? The first player can't attack so that's enough of a disadvantage already
You don't play much YGO eh? The disruption traps allow means the 2nd player is at a massive disadvantage if he play any-kind of Combo deck
>Oh how I yearn for pre-synchro era yugioh
I actually think that Synchros aren't that bad. They are less broken than XYZ at least. Though I got used to playing with XYZ, so it would have been the best if they didn't add any new shit for the new anime. How come GX didn't introduce any new mechanics when it came out?
>implying I'm always going to draw god-tier traps
This isn't the anime where everything is convenient. Second thing you're going to tell me is that you use a Destiny Hero deck.
Oh well maybe next time
>not liking the best character in the entire franchise
> They are less broken than XYZ at least
Synchro spamming is much easier to achieve then XYZ spamming. The only XYZ deck to ever get close to spamming shit like for example Karakuri was WInd-up and that deck was killed with an axe and it's corpse was burned
Card games on pink hippos.
>implying I'm always going to draw god-tier traps
You haven't played this game in a long time?
I play Infernity, if I go first you lose that duel 90% of the time.
No questions asked.
>You haven't played this game in a long time?
Nope, I play it often.
>tfw you will never experience a relatively balanced yugioh ever again
Chaos started it and konami learned the art of rarity and aggro boosting.
>This might kill the YGO tournament
More like reform
Well then lets see
Compulse, BTH, TT, Warning, Vanity, Mistake, Gozen, Balck Horn, Chain, PWWB, Fate, Wrath, DNA, Skill Drain, Soul Drain...
Anyone of those is extremely disruptive to a combo deck. On the other hand the one going first only has Veiler and Maxx "C" to fear
Meta has been pretty diverse this last format
i feel this new mechanic is gonna bomb
but that's only my opinion
Konami wouldn't bother releasing a mechanic that's so shit you won't play it and players aren't going to stop playing the game because there's a new mechanic so there's no reason it won't be played.
Yeah needing 2 monsters to summon even more monsters from your hand seems bad
> school again
Oh, come on, not again.
I imagine it will be easy as fuck to destroy these pendulum monsters
As far as I understand they are treated as spell cards in the pendulum zones. So you just MST them
Rank-up Magic was a garbage mechanic nobody used. Until the mother of all sack cards was made
>The player going first cannot draw on the first turn!
The cards not even out yet, definitely not a fair example.
>The story is set in Maiami City on the coast of Japan. Leon Corporation is run by its president Akaba. Thanks to the spread of the company's "Solid Vision with mass," "Action Duels" are born in Maiami City and has reached worldwide popularity.
>Children look up to star-level Pro Duelists, and they learn summoning and duel styles at various large and small cram schools, including the Yūshō Juku that Yūya attends and the largest such school, Leo Duel School (LDS).
>One day, Yūya ends up fighting an exhibition match with the current champion of Pro Duel world…
This sounds kind of like how Zexal started but is this basically confirming the previous seasons don't exist?
I wish they stopped giving everyone rigid as fuck hair that looks like a crazy helmet instead of hair.
It was fine for the first few seasons, but now it just looks silly.
>It was fine for the first few seasons
It became a staple. It can't be helped
>The player going first cannot draw on the first turn!
That's what you get fucker, 2nd place in Rock-Paper-Scissors feels pretty good now.
>Storm banned forever
Feels eh man
I don't even
>What do I think about the new Yu-Gi-Oh!
>Implying I give a shit when the main character isn't Yugi
I'm going to miss Zexal, that's what I think. New girl is a qt 3.14, but I miss the tits. New rival looks gay. The brief summary tells me nothing.
>CV: Hosoya Yoshimasa
The fuck, didn't he also do IV in Zexal?
Yes, yes he did. And wow, he's cute too.
Pendelum system as dng says is yolo overdrive
I wonder if the pedelum summoms work on only other pendelums or any leveled card
But personally i wouldve liked to see a yugioh set in the past with new ritual mechanics
It's FAN SERVICE!
>with new ritual mechanics
>Ritual Monsters are now kept in the extra deck
>The dude who voiced Kuroko
They sure know their target audience.
No, but when Pendulum monsters are destroyed, they go face-up to the extra deck.
What the fuck were they smoking when they thought up of these mechanics?
Also I'm not pleased by yet more text taking up the cards.
The effect numbering is neat though
>Ritual monsters now in extra deck
Perfect herald and gishikis tier 1
That's just for japan, they never got the problem solving card text the TCG did.
Instant Fusion time ho!
DARK/Spellcaster/Fusion/Effect/2200 ATK/800 DEF
1 “Shadoll” monster + 1 DARK monsters
Must be Fusion Summoned and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Cannot be destroyed by your opponent’s card effects. While this card is in your Monster Card Zone, neither player can Special Summon more than 1 monster per turn. If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 “Shadoll” Spell/Trap Card in your Graveyard; add that card to your hand.
So is this a new Archytpe?
A fusion archetype, yeah.
>These new rules
Guess I have to watch the first few episodes to see how it works
Synchros and XYZ were pretty easy to grasp
can you use instant fusion with this?
Instant fusion says to treat it as a fusion summon anyways
He looks like Durbe and Seto's love child.
IV was one of his best roles. That batshit insane personality turning to pure voice fanservice when he wasn't being crazy.
Can pendulum top this?
That doube up chanced hope was hilarious. It was predictable but I didn't want to believe I'd see it at 200k attk.
>hurrr 1000000000 ATK
Trap Stun :)
Seven Tools :)
Dark Bribe :)
Royal Decree :^)
>Chaining a normal trap to a counter trap
First warning, two more and I issue a game loss
Jokes on you I'm playing a Secret village spellcaster deck and you have no spellcasters on the field whereas I do.
Magic Jammer :^)
I was friends with a couple of the top judges in my tiny ass country when I played, it's was funny as fuck how much more stern they would be towards my opponents when I called judge compared to how they were with others.
I crie ebry teim
Don't worry you always have Lightsworn Rulers
>Summon Blaster by removing 2 Eclipse
>3 JD on the field
Why is he so perfect?
Damn she's a cutie.
>4.
