Did anyone else think the ending was better than the show? As much as I remember liking it as a kid, I can barely remember what Outlaw Star was about besides a gun, a catgirl, and a spaceship that fought with a knife.

But that ending was always inspiring as a kid. For a few minutes, it took sci-fi for me out of the gun metal grey world of robots and space ships and made it into something beautiful.

It had some awesome 10/10 episodes that I will always remember, and rank amongst my favourite episodes of anime. But it also had some mediocre episodes and as a package the show was good, and entertaining, but not outstanding. It's still one of my favourite space animu.

And yes, both the OP and ED were great.

space dandy is kinda giving me some outlaw star nostalgia

Was there ever a BD release? It's high time for a re-watch.
