Jesus, /a/ - did any of you expect KLK to get as brutal as it did in the past 2 episodes? Don't get me wrong, I like it, it's just that we've had:
>backstabbing and attempted matricide
>infant genetic experiments and abandonment
>a pretty horrific beating
>fucking Indian Jones-style heart grabbing
This show is so inconsistent. It has no idea what it wants to be.
I was going to disagree with you and say that it's just that it's a case of going from light-hearted to serious abruptly, but then I remembered only 3 episodes ago we had
>tons of nude/nudist jokes
I think you might be right, but it's only inconsistent in its mood. Quality wise, I think it's been consistently good from the start
I'm not saying inconsistent on quality, just want kind of show it is. So yeah, the mood and tone of the show
Every fucking question or statement does not needs it's own thread. Look in the fucking catalog
The mood is so fucking erratic
But Ryuuko and Satsuki being sisters was predicted from... fuck, I think from before episode one even aired.
Trigger's going to need to do something different to keep me hooked. Probably involving Mako. If they keep Mako as simple comic relief in the next two episodes then it's almost guaranteed that the show will end in a predictable as fuck fashion.
I never claimed that that was surprising - that, and Satsuki wanting to fight her mother, were some of the few things that were revealed in these episodes that we had guessed quite a long time ago.
I'd like Mako to just be a bit more important, even if it's still in a comic relief way.
21 I DIE
Though I do agree Mako being mere comic relief at this point wouldn't quite fit. Too much shit going on for me to buy HALLELUJAHS.
To be fair though, I think Mako and her family fit very well in the last episode. Sure, they were doing stupid shit like eating food and telling unfunny jokes, but that's a bretty gud foil to how fucking terrible of a mother Ragyo is.
The Mankanshokus represent the ideal family, while Ragyo, Soichoru, Ryuuko, Isshin and Satsuki represent a completely flawed family
I think it'd be funny if Mako were the dumpster baby. Simply because Mako's parents are the type of people to go dumpster diving.
I want Mako to do something as well. People have been saying they want her to defeat Nui but I don't know if she will get it the way of Satsuki getting the other scissor. Also Mako has the ED to herself so she better fucking do something.
Speaking of that weird, flawed family line with Satsuki and Ryuuko, do we know where Isshin fits yet? Presumably it's
>Ragyo + Soichi or whatever
>=Satsuki and Ryuuko
>Who was raised by Isshin, who's completely unrelated
But I'm sure Nui, or Isshin's wife fits here somewhere
While I doubt that she's the kid, that'd be hilarious. And her brother did say he was the first born last episode, even though she's older.
Trigger describes her as one of the three heroines, so there's that. But I'll be disappointed if all she does is give Satsuki and Ryuuko a speech. Nah, I want to see her with her banchou back taking a stand, even if it does have disastrous consequences.
And people argue this shit isn't edgy
He said he was the first born son, which he is. He's also the only son. Hence, the "joke."
I think there's a slim chance for Ryuuko not to be the dumpster baby. There's all that nonsense with Kinue, for example. Though it could have been Kinue's research + Ded Dumpster babby = Ryuuko.
>And her brother did say he was the first born last episode, even though she's older.
That's how Japanese works or some shit. He's the first born son.
I was, but I was also expecting it to happen 10 episode ago. It's been pretty boring up till now
>Isshin's wife fits here somewhere
He doesn't necessarily need to have had a wife.
I feel like Trigger is playing it safe. At this pace, what we'll get is the death of maybe one of the Devas, Ryuuko and Satsuki teaming up to beat the Evil Empire, then, either Ryuuko's ultimate sacrifice, or a final duel between Ryuuko and Satsuki.
Sorta boring, if you ask me.
I imagine Mako is going to be the one who kills Ragyo (or will play a significant role in her death.) Something like what happened when Vegeta turned into a giant gorilla in DBZ and his tail got cut off.
Seeing as how Teacher was debunked as Satsuki's dad, I'm beginning to doubt that shinning lights is some sort of familial signature and not just something the characters do.
>He said he was the first born son, which he is. He's also the only son. Hence, the "joke."
I suspected as much.
>here's all that nonsense with Kinue, for example. Though it could have been Kinue's research + Ded Dumpster babby = Ryuuko.
Ragyo experiments on dumpster baby Ryuuko > tosses her out > Isshin takes her > experiments with Kinue and Ryuuko in order to make Senketsu specifically for genetically-enhanced Ryuuko?
I love Satsuki. I do.
But I think she needs to die. She needs to go out in the best way possible, but it'd be a great ending if she died gloriously, although I can't see it happening anymore.
I hope Mako does do something, even if she dies from it. I like when the happy go lucky character gets serious for a change.
Are you kidding OP?
This is what I was expecting from the beginning, but with more TTGL craziness.
Overall, totally underwhelming for the most part.
That happens too much.
I'd be far more satisfied if she kept being a big 4th wall-y and over the top oblivious to danger and that leads to the death of Ragyo/Nui/Rei
Well, what it could have been is that Ryuuko did die, but the research from Kinue enabled her to come back to life. Then, Senketsu was extracted from Ryuuko's life fibers.
As an aside - Ryuuko really bores me to tears. I dislike her type, the hero that wins not due to skill, or smarts, but because she has everything going for her.
to be honest Ryuuko has the best odds of dying since she is like part life fiber or something
And yet despite being genetically engineered to be the strongest, having a super special sentient armor, and having Jetstream Sam's red katana from the get go, Ryuuko has found a way to lose and bumble her way through 18 episodes.
She's not malicious, but you could replace Ryuuko with a super powered dog and get the same results.
>Seeing as how Teacher was debunked as Satsuki's dad
>Character that looks exactly like him minus eyelashes with a weirdly similar name (kanji with same radical component+number+son) that wasn't originally a Kiryuuin is introduced as her dad
>Still has yet to appear in the show in the same suit as her dad that he wears in the official character design sheets
I mean I think uncle is more likely but I would not put it past Trigger to force another big TWEEST.
>Well, what it could have been is that Ryuuko did die, but the research from Kinue enabled her to come back to life. Then, Senketsu was extracted from Ryuuko's life fibers.
Maybe? It's possible, but I think the more possible part of this is the whole "Senketsu made from Ryuuko's life fibers" thing - Isshin probably plucked a few from her nervous system/heart and made Senketsu, hence why they have such a high sync rate.
>As an aside - Ryuuko really bores me to tears. I dislike her type, the hero that wins not due to skill, or smarts, but because she has everything going for her.
I liked her a lot in the beginning episodes, when she was just kind of a punk kid who wants to get some answers.
Now it feels like she's going along with the plot and got kinda boring.
>Sorta boring, if you ask me.
From one side, i agree with you: after latest episode, the upcoming developments could easily be the classic/predictable
>one ally die (deva)
>major enemies die (Nui/Honoumaru)
>team up of ryuko/sastuki (get second alf scissor)
>kill final boss (raygo)
>one/both/none of the 2 protagonist die inthe final battle
Trigger couldeasily do this and call it a day, even if it would mean getting a very cliche/unimaginative last episodes + ending.
On the other hand, given the people working on it and what we've seen so far, i'm somewhat expecting Trigger to do something different.
She wasn't all powerful in the beginning, she still had to figure out how her suit worked. As she is, she's only on par with her opponents, who are at least more competent if not more powerful.
It was about time honestly, the whole thing was getting pretty boring
This. So far the show has been skating in and out of cliche and what's a TWEEST on said cliches, so even with such a formulated set up I'm sure Trigger is gonna do something a bit different.
Especially because now the Life Fibers are going all 3rd Impact-looking.
That's kind of why I'm doubling down on Mako, despite my favorite character originally being Nui.
Nui's been worf'd already, losing to Ryuuko in a very lame way(Literally just Ryuuko glowing... and Senketsu and her jerking each other off for the fifth time), and the Devas are just begging to get jobbed by Rei and Ragyo.
Mako is the only one whose willingness to go along with the plot is fairly untouched. She might surprise me.
>Sou in Souchirou has the radical for thread
WHAT DOES IT MEANNN
They didn't have too similar of a design, though. I'm not doubting that there's a connection, but I am doubting that it has to do with Teacher being the father. Brother, maybe. Or Uncle.
Nah, she's not the type of hero you really feel an urge to root for. Everyone compares her to Luke Skywalker, but Luke had waaaaaay more depth than Ryuuko. Luke wasn't even that strong of a Jedi, he just knew that there was some good in his father.
Ryuuko solves all her problems because she is designed to asspull solutions. It's not examined, it's played straight, and it's irritating.
She hasn't totally lost to Ryuuko yet, but she's been brought down. I think Nui might have a few things up her sleeve - and she's definitely powerful enough to probably kill a Deva, and/or Mako.
>They didn't have too similar of a design
He's Mikisugi with kinder eyes and more hair
Right, but there's no tension in the fight between Ryuuko and Nui now.
I'm bummed, because contrary to what other people said, Nui was a bretty good villain. But now she's just lame, because Ryuuko can glow and beat her just... cause. .
Adding to this I doubt he's the dad too but the designs are still similar.
Luke had the balance of the universe on his side, it would have been impossible for him to lose. Ryuuko was more interesting early on though when she was embarrassed by Senketsu. Although even that probably would have worn thin pretty fast.
I'm still banking on her being some sort of life-fiber-in-human-clothing or some shit, who'll become much more powerful once all this life fiber stuff really starts going down.
She is not human, and I'd like to know what she is.
Well...yes. It was a long time coming and the only surprising thing is how they packed it into the last two episodes.
He's sure to sew discord, that's what it means.
Luke doesn't win because of "the balance of the universe", he wins because he plays it cool in his fight with Vader. It's a very touching, very well acted scene that ties up all the themes brought up in the show nicely.
Ryuuko wins because she and Senketsu have a conversation about how synched up they are then John Cena the bad guys.
That's pretty much the only option now that we know it's been done. She says she doesn't wear Life Fiber clothing, and she can't just be that powerful.
Isn't she just a hybrid like Ryuuko?
please don't be one of those guys that repeat what they learned in some classes and with hose redlettermedia reviews, is embarrasing
What? I didn't learn anything from a film class, or whatever website you mentioned. I'm talking about how Luke Skywalker is a much more interesting character than the Mary Sue delinquent who isn't even really a delinquent.
No clue - there's literally no history on her at all. All we know is that she's the "Grand Coutier", the highest fashion/clothing being and very obviously not human besides her appearance.
I'm guessing she's some sort of mouthpiece/intermediate between the Life Fiber race and their human "priestess", Ragyo.
Or maybe she's like a queen bee, the only female COVERS and far more power/advanced than the male worker bees/suits
Ryuuko could probably break the Mary Sue litmus test.
Tragic past where she is oppressed for no real reason? Check
Super Special Chosen one? Check.
Stupid Streak in her hair that's out of place for her world? Check
Super Special weapon? Check
Super Special Armor? Check
Always shown to be right about whatever she says? Check.
Villains who oppress her are sadistic jerks? Check.
The villains who aren't jerks thinks she's the shit? Check
Ryuuko may not be interesting, but she's no Mary Sue.
>Always shown to be right about whatever she says?
She's never proven wrong, really. And everything falls into place for her. Plus - she can't fucking die.
Scores about 39 on the litmus test. We'll see how it goes.
She fails a number of times, however, and it's not as though everything she says is correct.
Mommy Dearest, the Satsuki Kiryuin story
>parental child molestation.
Personally I'm glad that shit is finally hitting the fan hard with Ragyo's appearance.
Everything was way too easily smoothed over before.
Shoot, if you gave it another couple of episodes, the conduct between Ryuuko and the Elite Four would have been downright civil.
>>parental child molestation.
Did you see how she just about fingered Satsuki/flicked her bean to de-activate and explode Junketsu?
Shit for a second I thought I turned on some hentai. It was downright sensual.
You're missing one of the most important points, "Self-Insert Character in a Fanfic." It's kind of the gateway points to marysuedom; you can't be a mary-sue without it.
Just took the Mary Sue Litmus test for Ryuuko.
She scored 161. The point of no return is 50+ points.
>Mankanshoku is the flag dressing on a ship
>Flags are colored and look like a rainbow
>Ragyo also appears as a rainbow
WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
What the hell test did you use?
I think you're being WAAAAAAAAAY too generous with the scoring, I took it and Ryuuko scored 135.
It means delicious yuri ending
Fuck off, most of that shit is also Spider-Man. find something productive to do, instead of invading every thread for a show you don't like with your banner waving.
What? Spiderman is super strong and super fast. But his life sucks and he loses all the time.
Ryuuko is super strong, super fast, can fly, can reverse sound waves by folding her arms into a fork, can become Wolverine... fuck, she can do everything.
>Mankanshoku is the flag dressing on a ship
So "Mankanshoku" means "Flag" or something?
Yeah, but so can everyone else. She's not the only one with life fibers, and she's not even as good with them as the antagonist
Ryuuko is a pretty lame character. No one in their right mind is watching the show for her, they're watching it for Satsuki, the Devas, Mako, Ragyo, Nui, Tsumugu, and Aikurou.
>What? Spiderman is super strong and super fast. But his life sucks and he loses all the time.
>Implying Ryuko's life has been amazing
>fuck, she can do everything.
except win when it counts
She's better with them than Nui is, and odds are she'll be better with them than Ragyo soon enough, not out of hard work or training, but because she REALLY SUPER DUPER WANTS IT THIS TIME GUYS
I mean, hey, Monkey had to fucking sew his eyes shut, but I guess that's just what losers without plot armor do!
And I fucking hate Monkey, by the way, but at least he paid some sort of price for his bullshit
What's wrong with him? He's the only one who deserves to win, the show just keeps shitting on him.
Why does everyone seem to believe Dr. Matoi is not the father of Ryuuko and Satsuki?
Because his physical appearance changed drastically in ten years?
I'd say Ryuuko's life sucked for quite a time. Not to mention she's lost a number of important battles and lost Senketsu at one point. The whole evolution of her suit thing is more about her connection with Senketsu and was just a way of bringing her up to a level where she's closer to the actual power houses of the show
Is the 30 sec preview out yet?
Ryuuko's backstory sucks, her life as a hero is pretty good.
Spiderman gets fucking shat on the moment he gets super powers.
Why this is important is simple - Any prole can have a tragic backstory - We don't fucking SEE backstories.
Ryuuko can do all of those things because she's wearing an outfit made entirely of life fibers.
Nah, she is the life fiber, bro. No one can wear senketsu but her. Only the Mary Sue protag can get the Mary Sue armor, after all.
>implying she's better than Nui
Not until that bitch's head is off will we know that Ryuuko's better. Nui's probably some sort of alien and I'm sure we haven't seen everything up her sleeve.
>odds are she'll be better than Ragyo
Even with her high sync rates, Ryuuko was still only really on Satsuki's level, and Satsuki literally just got the shit beat out of her. Plus, Ragyo easily pulled out Ryuuko's fucking heart. She's nowhere near that powerful.
Kiryuun is also wearing clothes of 100% life fiber, and her mom is infused with life fiber, and Matoi is between them in power.
Mary Sue armor that
>nearly kills her a number of times
>gets destroyed at one point
>makes people believe she's crazy when she talks to it
>does not protect her from getting her fucking heart ripped from her chest
>Doesn't realize Satsuki is the star of the show now.
Deuteragonists, really. I'm glad Satsuki got so much of the spotlight recently.
>nearly kills her
While yelling at her to chill at and begging for her to calm down. In fact, it's not her armor's fault, it's her own fault, and might even just be another one of her many super powers.
>gets destroyed at one point
And comes back good as new in the next two episodes.
>makes people think she's crazy
It only makes her best friend who would die for her think she's mildly quirky.
>does not protect her from getting her heart ripped out
And if Ryuuko were to die next episode, you'd have a point.
>In fact, it's not her armor's fault, it's her own fault, and might even just be another one of her many super powers.
It's definitely not a power. It's a danger, because she had just been using her hotbloodedness to overtake every enemy instead of at least trying anything else.
>And comes back good as new in the next two episodes.
She still didn't have it. Her plot armor was taken out by an enemy no one has yet to take down.
>It only makes her best friend who would die for her think she's mildly quirky.
Aside from the teacher, no one really understands why she talks to her clothing. They think she's "crazy" or "quirky" but certainly not normal, and it gets commented on a lot.
>And if Ryuuko were to die next episode, you'd have a point.
She still stands no chance against Ragyo yet, even with Senketsu. He was completely disregarded when she stuck her hand in Ryuuko's chest.
don't forget, it also consumes here
>Plot armor taken out
She takes on the entire school without her armor twice. When they had super powered uniforms and she's mostly normal.
>Stands no chance against Ragyo
The hero never takes on the villain so early, that would be anticlimactic
Covered under the "nearly kills her" thing
>When they had super powered uniforms and she's mostly normal.
She's far from mostly normal. Her nervous system and organs are life-fiber infused. Plus, her weapon was made to cut life fibers.
>The hero never takes on the villain so early, that would be anticlimactic
But villains don't always get to do something like grabbing a protag's heart so early before their fight either.
Just picked this up, I'm on episode 3. Is it as good as you guys say it is or has it only gotten good in the later episodes?
I feel kind of bad not jumping on this bandwagon when it first left the starting point.
I found it pretty good throughout, first half is just a lot more light hearted in tone than the second part
It's consistently entertaining, IMO. Good is subjective but I like it.
It's good, just not as mindblowingly amazing as some people say it is.
i started watching it, too, don't worry.
i'm all caught up now, though, and in my opinion, it gets better. exponentially better? i dunno, but it gets better
Don't think much of it, it's a fun series. Enjoy yourself.
Erratic, not inconsistent. Their transitions from one mood to the next however are spot on. As an animator, I was honestly impressed at how careful the timing and pacing of the story was. Take for example Mako running in to save Ryuko from herself. Did you not notice how they smoothly they went from Mako's antics to a life changing dramatic event caused by the same character who just a minute ago was acting rather silly? Honestly, that was something truly meant to be appreciated. Trigger knows full well what they're doing and what type of show they want to be.
Besides, if it had one mood throughout, and tried to be one type of show through out, you'd just be bagging on it for being just another generic bland x anime.
I don't get this. Why is everyone saying it was the most predictable thing in the world now? The character designs don't imply sibling relationship at all. If Satsuki had a blue streak through her hair or some dumb giveaway I'd understand everyones "OMG IT WAS SO OBVIOUS FROM DAH START" claims, but it really wasn't. We were actually given a lot of information to believe that they weren't related at all. Since we didn't know until episode 18 that Ryuko's father wasn't her biological father, and the first time they showed Satsuki's father, he had a completely different build than Ryuko's father. I honestly don't see any merit to the "they were sisters", and wouldn't believe you had they not revealed it along with crucial back story in episode 18.
Anyway, what I'm hoping to see is Raygo being separated from the life fiber that's turning her into such a crazy bitch, just to see her collapse to her knees as her sanity restores and all of her terrible deeds flood her conscious. I want to see her the way she was before she became the monster that the life fibers turned her into.
Am I the only anon who misses the lighthearted first half of KLK? I knew that aspect wouldn't continue forever, but everything seemed so shounen-y and optimistic then, and now KLK is apparently a hard sci-fi that gets darker every episode.
Don't get me wrong, I still love KLK though. Just surprised at the direction it's took.
How are you comparing a finale to mid-season battles? That's like comparing the end of Gurren Lagann to when Luke shot some nameless clones.
I know what you mean. Kill la kill seemed like it was going to be a villain of the week type series where ryuko would work her way up and defeat satsuki.
no, I didn't expect it, but I like it
Do you not remember the entire first half of the series was just Ryuko getting shat on and running away from people who were stronger than her?
>Kill La Kill
>hard sci fi
More like first few episodes. She gets over that pretty quick.
I would have dropped the series. I was praying to god that it wouldn't end up being that and I'm so glad shit didn't go down that way.
I never expected this to happen. The first few fights were just a warm up for her abilities, she gets into the habit of beating the crap out of them pretty quick.
The real question is: Is it Ragyo doing the molestation or is COVERS pulling her strings.
Maybe she was a decent mom before being infected with fashion.
I liked to be strong,
because our world is very cruel
It is advisable to remove withered flowers
You ask me if I'll go with you
You whisper in my ear
You ask me if I take your hand
I have no reason to reject you
You ask me if I'll go with you
You whisper in my ear
You ask much, whether I'll define hand
(You whisper to me)
Yes, I am much stronger than I ever thought
Over much faster!
Do not forget the truth!
Yes, I am much stronger than I ever thought
I remove withered flowers
Why do you look so sad?
This world is cruel
It is sad but true
This world is strange
It is questionable but true
Is the flower garden real or fake?
What do you want from me?
I will or night, I must pursue the enemy
I am not free from this world
No matter how hard you're also
Over much faster!
You are very strong
You bind a wreath of flowers
Why do you look so sad?
>Why is everyone saying it was the most predictable thing in the world now?
They're trying to show their e-penises. Seriously I enjoy this series without trying to predict much, and it's fun. I didn't expect them to be sisters and I really don't know where these guys are coming from, but I read lots of KLK threads even before it started airing and I don't remember many people claiming that they're sisters or having any in-depth speculations about it before this episode aired.
Stop trying to shift the blame off Ragyo. Even if she's not doing it herself, she made the choice to implant the life fibers.
Heaven is high
>I remove withered flowers
You have to replace flowers at a grave
>Why do you look so sad?
What makes people sad?
>You bind a wreath of flowers
A wreath of flowers, a funeral wreath
>MC is in love with her clothing who is a telepathic superpowered alien who sucks blood
>Fusing humans with alien lifeforms
>The ball of yarn in Ragyo's basement is quite clearly an Outer God
>Apparently we might be going to space in a few episodes
>implying KLK is NOT hard sci-fi
but then again no one actually knows the real definition of soft/hard sci-fi, just like moe.
>that feeleroni pizza when it's not Thursday yet
Every other day of the week feels so empty
Glad I'm not the only one who's made this observation.
I expected a double-cross on Satsuki's part, but nothing on the scale of what she did. I also expected her to fail, but at least cause some major damage to REVOCS, maybe kill Nui.
All of that makes it soft as fuck.
But anon-san, it just became Monday! We're one day closer!
>no one actually knows the real definition of soft/hard sci-fi
Nope, that's just you it seems.
>maybe she was a decent mom
No, she never was. Did you miss the goddamn flashback of her giving birth to babies only to experiment on them? She couldn't care less when she threw Ryuuko to the trash. "Oh well" indeed.
Hard science fiction is a category of science fiction characterized by an emphasis on scientific or technical detail, or on scientific accuracy, or on both
That makes it soft.
Soft sci-fi is still good, but it's ridiculous to think KLK is hard.
Wasn't my intention, bro.
I just think some of her creepier aspects might be attributed to the alien symbiote.
Clothing has no concept of incest after all.
I'd like to believe that she was a descent person at one point. Obviously she fused with the life fibers well before she became a mother.
Not even close
Name a hard sci-fi work that does not have infodumps.
But was that before she got the stitchings.
This. Philip K. Dick is a hard science fiction writer whose prose focuses primarily on describing the technology, methods and physics of space and time travel, and the nitty gritty details of the inner workings of the universe, its technology, and its people. KLK doesn't approach that level of detail in its storytelling or the elements of its plot that it focuses on.
I'm surprised you guys didn't spoil anything. But thanks.
>hurrrrr KLK is not TTGL 2.0
there is your problem
Mako can see dead people
I think your confusion is resulting from what you consider to be an infodump. Explanations in hard science fiction tend to focus on extremely specific scientific and physical principles that help the reader to construct and understand the setting in their head. KLK's infodumps don't do any of that and just serve to explain the plot.
Dammit Bruce Willis
Are there any hard science fiction books that deal with the difficulties of not having faster-than-light travel?
I know that ftl is a "freebie" and even hard sci-fi can get away with having it, but I want to see something where it takes 25 years to go to another star, and how it affects the setting.
No, unfortunately I haven't come across Gunbuster: The Novel
Oh, no, sorry. I know that KLK has infodumps, but I was thinking more of the parts in Ringworld where it's just a description of the mechanics that hold the Ringworld together, how the hyperdrive works, and so on. It's interesting, but not exactly what I want.
Well, you're on /a/, I guess you know most spoilers already.
Ender's Game mentions it being important.
2001: A Space Odyssey?
OK, it's not another star, but they still deal with interplanetary travel pretty realistically.
I know that somebody is related to somebody and there is an episode my friends described as hentai. So I'm looking forward to that.
pfft I wish
your friends are obviously normalfags without a clue what hentai actually is
Hentai? Not quite. If I know what you're talking about, the scene is only there to drive home how evil a character is.
They are. So I got my highest hopes were it was hentai and my lowest hopes it was just very ecchi and incestual.
To illustrate anon's point: Snowcrash is a fun, fast paced science fiction book and then Stephenson feels a need to do a long expose about Sumerians, Babel,Enki and the idea of language as a virus.
The entire narrative screeches to a halt so he can share his cool theory.
Now that's an infodump
Time dilation means that the faster the ship moves, the faster time moves on the ship relative to everywhere else.
You can imagine what this means.
Your lowest hopes are spot on
It's ecchi and incestual but it will make you want to murder rather than fap.
Thanks. I've read Ender's Game, but not 2001. Never even heard of Tau Zero.
B- but I liked the Sumerian infodump
Oh, and also The Forever War.
Ender's Game, as already mentioned, but more particularly the immediate sequel (Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide, Children of the Mind). I'm also a fan of Mote in God's Eye. FTL exists, but not having it is certainly a difficulty.
Pretty much anything dealing with Colony Ships will center around it, but I haven't found many colony-ship novels to be worth recommending. I've heard Poul Anderson does some good treatments, but I've never read any myself, so I'm just throwing that out there. In general, I'd look for works from the late 60s onwards, paying special attention to the late 70s/80s. If you're looking for simply "The plight of man who cannot reach the stars", Philip K. Dick does that excellently, but approach him with your wits about you.
>But Ryuuko and Satsuki being sisters was predicted from... fuck, I think from before episode one even aired.
fuck off /lit/
>implying /lit/ has time for science fiction
/lit/ hates genre fiction with a passion.
No you don't understand. People /actually/ think they predicted Ryuuko and Satsuki being sister from the very start.
Doesn't mean it belongs here. Not that I mind, so whatever.
Is Satsuki anyone's waifu? I like her long hair and eyebrows.
Fucking everything was predicted, because that's what people do for shows with this much hype: They predict shit. Here, go on the archive, search "Satsuki sister" and turn on oldest first. I'm getting posts like >>94447676, back around October 3.
Of course, I'm also getting posts claiming that Mako is Satsuki's sister and all other kinds of stuff.
it were just people saying "lol I bet they are sisters" without any basis.
I know it's a debut novel and everything, but the Sumerian infodump was really clumsily implemented.
It's still quite interesting, but the pacing went to shit. Couldn't he have spread it out a little over the entire novel?
Nope, but she's become my favorite character in the show.
Then I will take her as a waifu.
The show took too long to get decent and now it's not even great, just decent.
'Take her' seem like the wrong thing to say all things considered.
Forget all the prequel crap. Luke didn't have any of that shit involved with his confrontation with Vader (and then the Emperor) in the original films.
Retcons do not a good story make.
Are you aware of the fact that many people share the same waifus, yeah?
Anyway she's my favorite character in the show. It's been a long time since i was this hyped about a character.
Those aren't predictions. Those are wild guesses. There is a difference.
Yes, but I will plant my flag into her and she will be claimed.
I don't know, I just really like her character design. I hope she gets a good looking fig/statue this year from the WonFes 2014. The prototype looks okay so far.
NO! My waifu!
But really, I like Satsuki. I'm surprised she's not a more popular waifu.
>expecting any restraint in KLK, or any imaishi show for that matter.
>Are you aware of the fact that many people share the same waifus, yeah?
>sharing your waifu
30 Sec PV out yet?
You act like I have a choice. Much as I would like to hunt down and forcibly change the waifus of everyone who has Satsuki for a waifu, I have neither the resources nor the time.
well she's going to be dead by the time this ends, I can almost guarantee you that
>Jesus, /a/ - did any of you expect KLK to get as brutal as it did in the past 2 episodes?
>This show is so inconsistent. It has no idea what it wants to be.
It knows exactly what it wants to be. Have you guys seriously never heard of anything by Go Nagai before?
Not expecting KLK's ultraviolence is kind of like watching Gurren Lagann and not expecting the robots to get bigger.
1) Not really. I can predict that the sun won't rise tomorrow, just as I can wildly guess that the sun won't rise tomorrow.
2) If this is a lead up to "There was no evidence," there was """"""""evidence"""""""", like hair color or framing of certain shots or whatever.
A prediction/wild guess for 17 episodes in the future is just as valid as a prediction/wild guess for 1 episode in the future: there is no real validity. The only difference is that sometimes, when you say "I called that X days ago!" you'll get the response "Please, everyone saw that coming", and sometimes you'll get the response "Please, you were just making up bullshit and got lucky". Sometimes you'll even get both.
It's not like you can keep others away. Unless there are clones, then you can claim to have the real one.
Please, Satsuki is the real main character at this point anyway. Ryuko will die, which will make me almost as sad.
Even her mom? Though I guess that's a different situation, Waifus at least get respect.
I thought it was pretty obvious that once satsuki took center stage it was going to get very violent
the real main character that can't do dick but spout monologues at this point, she doesn't even have her godrobe now
No. I would brutally murder her mother.
I would cut her open, and pull every individual life fiber out of her body with tweezers, then cut her head off with a kitchen knife, because she's not even worthy of a sword.
She'll get it back next episode, you watch.
She'll have him back by the next episode. Might even finally wear him. although I'm not sure that'll happen until 21.
I know one of those "they're sisters" posts in that thread was mine but I'm not sure which one.
What I predicted easily after Ep1: Sisters, Satsuki betraying her mother, some kind of high-power-level pink lolita fashion character later on
What I never predicted for some reason: Fucking aliens
I think I was too much in an Urobuchi mindset and thought for sure it'd be LIFE FIBERS ARE PEOPLE
I'm giving it 2 episodes, I mean how the fuck could it be that easy
>implying nui is not a physical manifestation of life fibers
I've posted this is plenty of threads, I can't think of any other explanation for her
At some point neither did Ryuuko, that got fixed. Satsuki is certainly going to go through her dark night of the soul moment, but then it's going to be time to stand up again.
If a sword didn't do anything I doubt a kitchen knife will
Same thing as Ragyo I would assume, just less powerful. Ditto for the secretary.
Ryuuko does something that solidifies her role as the protagonist according to her seiyuu.
There's really nothing else she can do at this point in the plot besides getting Junketsu back for Satsuki. Senketsu got the two episode treatment, but I think Junketsu will be back by fifteen minutes in.
Maybe. Now that Ragyo's got Junketsu, she's not taking him off, and the only way Satsuki will get it back is if Ragyo dies.
There's got to be a third kamui.
The sword did nothing because "lol life fibers".
If I pull the life fibers out of her body, I can decapitate her with anything I want.
how the FUCK do you expect her to just get it back there is no fucking way
also the covers are apparently roaming the city so that would make it even less plausible
That's what complicates things, If they're going to get it back they have to take it from her, which would imply her defeat, but then why do you need it back again? I'm betting Ragyo's not the final boss either. My guess is it will be life fibers themselves.
the infant that they experimented on is Ryuuko, the reason she has such an affinity with the life fiber is because she was infused with it as an infant and dr matoi brought her back to life using the life fibers
Where the fuck will it come from though?
I find it more probable that Junketsu rejects Ragyou for some reason; she's still using Override, after all, she's not "wearing it" any better than Satsuki was.
I mean, logically, SOMETHING has to happen right now to make her fuck off so Ryuuko and Satsuki don't just die here and now.
Everything except the last 12 words of that post was actually stated. There is no need to spoiler it.
Do you think Ragyo could just be dumb enough to take Junketsu off? If the final boss is just life fibers, there's nothing for the viewer to hate. Are life fibers even really sentient?
>she's not taking him off
Who said she would get the choice? Junketsu has ALWAYS been featured with multiple eyes - check the transformation sequence in episode 3 and you'll see what I mean. Senketsu has been shown to throw himself off of Ryuuko to protect her in episode 5..
> there is no fucking way
In episode five, it was established that Senketsu can talk to somebody if he's face-to-face with them. Junketsu is literally holding Ryuuko's fife fiber infused beating heart right now, there is just about no possible way he can get closer. She talks to him and then he leaps off of Ragyou to go hop over to Satsuki. It's not like discomilf NEEDS him in order to handle Ryuuko, it was just a way to humiliate her daughter. There'll probably be a retreat going on.
I thought that Override was the only way to use Junketsu. He's (it's?) not like Senketsu, who communicates with Ryuuko. Junketsu seems more...hostile, for lack of a better word.
Them getting it back because she's dumb enough to lose it without a fight would be dumb. As for life fibers, there's that weird face thing.
I'm so done.
The pinnacle of hostile vampire clothing who only wants to devour his wearer right here, folks.
IT'S FUN FUCK YOU
>Trigger reveals that Junketsu now likes Satsuki because he developed a femdom fetish from being worn by her
>I'm so done.
We tumblr now?
I think that would be a nice way to inject some camp back into this shit
No doubt it's fun, but these aren't predictions.
How are these not predictions?
I would certainly enjoy that.
The way Satsuki perhaps gets Junketsu back is putting him (or her) on again; Junketsu then tries the whole "I vant to suck your BLOOD!" thing, and Satsuki basically prostrates herself before Junketsu - asking the clothing to work with her, Junketsu appreciates this and decides to synchronize as a result.
Could be the way it goes. My two cents.
Yeah, it would be better than "lel mako so fahnny" it the most inappropriate moments
>I CALL IT GUYS THEY'RE SISTERS
I don't know if Satsuki can swallow her pride long enough, though. More likely, they'll come to and respect each other for not backing down.
I didn't call that until episode 10.
You need to be clairvoyant for them to be predictions, trying to guess future development with the information currently at hand is for hacks.
I wanted to cite meteorologists but I realized that would be making your point for you.
I feel it's a prediction as long as there's some logic behind them.
I'm thinking tsumugu is going to shoot a coagulant bullet from his sniper rifle which was designed specifically to take down Junketsu. (Let's not forget that Nudist Beach isn't ENTIRELY helpless). It hits Ragyo and start prevent her movement. Ragyo lets go of Ryuko's heart causing Mako to rush to the rescue with her family for emergency surgery. Elite 4 jump in and attack discomilf, and who the fuck knows what happens to Nui, there's way to predict what she'll end up doing. Cottonigger jumps in and pulls Ragyo out as a tactical retreat and continues plan to zombify everyone.
And what was your basis for that call in episode 10?
When are we going to get the 30 seconds preview?
I just need to see Satsuki's face
There were enough hints already by the end of Episode 1.
Nudist Beach is pretty much helpless. Satsuki might "ally" with them, but in reality it'll just be bringing all of Ragyo's enemies under one banner.
I think they should spell her JUN尻, if you know what I mean.
this is going to get ova's after the season is over right
I watched them all just recently all in a row for the first time and it felt pretty expected to me. I mean no less than TTGL.
Tell me more.
>now that i know everything it's so obvious in hindsight!
I think there's still a chance that we've been misled till now. The main reason why they've been so useless lately is just because of shit luck. All that build up with the anti life-fiber technology they've been developing has to amount to something at some point, and I'm thinking this might be the point Tsumugu cracks out the sniper rifle that was meant to take down Ryuko after being consumed by a kamui. If they had one prepared to counter her, I'm sure they had one in the work to counter junketsu as well
This doesn't make any sense. Where's Ryuuko's relevance here, the defining moment that will solidify her status as THE main heroine of Kill la Kill?
The second they revealed nudist beach was all grunts they made it pretty apparent that they were fucked. Grunts never mean anything in shows like this.
Nui is pretty pointless now.
The only one who she can have an impactful fight now is Ryuuko.
And Ryuuko can pretty much push her shit in now.
Should just kill her off.
>these ass fuck retarded vehicles nudistu beacho uses
I clearly suck at English. What Imeant was that I only started watching klk as of episode 17 and it felt fine to me.
Junketsu is not sentient, unlike Senketsu.
What is Ryuuko going to do. She has her heart ripped out by super over powered villian. She's worn out and out of aces. At there's not much that can intervene in her death.
1) Tsumugu who said he'd train his ass off to be strong enough to take down a kamui user. (And has a super powerful bullet that can one shot a kamui)
2) Nui intervenes for fuck all reason. Barely any logic has been revealed behind the way she acts as well as where she stands.
3) One of the elite four intervenes (even though they're incredibly underpowered, /maybe/ one of their situational abilities can do the trick)
4) Ragyo strips Ryuko of her life fibers and decides to let her suffer through the world as it gets terraformed by life fibers. (Too cliche, very doubtful)
5) Ragyo's husbando intervenes to protect is daughteru's. (Not enough build up for that to happen.)
6) Ryuko reveals some new super power even after she's be worn out and pushed to her limit (Trigger doesn't pull that shit unless it's for a bigger reason, I.e.: Senketsu being able to evolve at ridiculously high rates forms a toxic relationship with Ryuko, putting her at risk of being consumed by her own lust for power. Not just to get her out of a tight situation.)
There's really not many other things that can happen at this point. /Maybe/ Junketsu acts on it's own, but we've never seen it act that way before and I don't see Trigger pulling that one out of their ass holes
Idk, that's all I can think of. Intervention by Nudist Beach seems to be the strongest bet. Specially since the life fiber resistance team needs a strong footing to be established as a credible threat to main villain.
the husband is already dead man
Trigger already confirmed he has a voice, the only unknown is whether or not Satsuki hears him. He always looked at the foe in previous episodes, but this time he did a lot of Senketsu-ish things like staring at Satsuki depending on what was going on like he was saying something to her. At least, he was trying to.
> She's worn out and out of aces.
She talks to Junketsu.
Every single source has said that 19 will be Ryuuko's defining moment. One of the only things she can do right now that would really make people say that is having her talk to Junketsu. I'm not saying it's definitely what's going to happen, but it's pretty much the only option that would leave an impact. Anything else is along the lines of "She beats up Ragyo and runs away" which is not very defining. Even your theory is merely a variation on that simple idea.
what if she can like telepathically communicate with all life fiber
>this breaks the Bakuzan
>95% of all characters and including extras have black hair
>they both have black hair
omg dey sisters! called it!
>Stupid Streak in her hair that's out of place for her world?
Nigger what the fuck are you talking about there's a woman with fucking rainbow bird hair in this anime are you fucking stupid her hair is fucking normal compared to some of the shit we've seen
What if the exposing of the life fibers fused within he heart activates an absorption ability similar to Senketsu's ability to augment his own power by absorbing the life fibers from beaten enemies.
Ragyo's holding her beating heart, and that's when it starts to shoot out life fibers onto junketsu, unraveling it and absorbing it's power, leavng Ragyo naked and Ryuuko over powered. Even though naked Ragyo is still a threat within itself.
I like it
Maybe she can! Point is, the protag or one of his/her allies being able to establish communication with the alien force is a shonen cliche.
Not happening. Junketsu is Satsuki's wedding dress made by her dad and he has yet to show off his true power. I can't believe everyone keeps forgetting about that super-popular series where a certain multi-eyed living being, who could have been on-par or better than the protagonist's(at least for most combat situations), was crippled most of the time because her pilot didn't want to establish communication out of fear. When they finally did do it, she got a massive powerup.
Ragyo has merged with Life Fibers, and as long as a single thread connects her head with her body, she will fully regenerate.
Ryuuko is also infused with Life Fibers, and there is no reason to believe the same is not the case for her. She was in grave danger in the past, but never in truly mortal danger, and every time she got beat up, she got better the very next day. But then again, so does everyone else.
>2014 and thinking soichi and isshin aren't the same person
it was a disguise all along, he faked his own death
Isshin IS Nui.
Is Ragyo's going to have her hand chopped off as she puts it in inappropriate places?
maybe that's what will happen in the next episode
Senketsu might be able to suck her heart back in. doesn't seem like being limbs our organs ripped out is anything more than a momentary inconvenience as long as there are life fibres attached.
Alternately, Senketsu makes an artificial heart, making a complete bond with Ryuuko. Now they keep each other alive and the blood pumping. That might be cliched enough to work.
I still think Satsuki is in the wrong philosophically and her mother is right.
Satsuki is still on her 1984 Slavery is freedom shit, while Ragyo wants people to transcend to higher beings. I honestly don't see what Ragyo is doing wrong. You have to break a few eggs to make an omlet
>wants people to transcend to higher beings
there must be something I missed because I got an "I have been assimilated by this alien race and I am complacent in their plan to use humanity as food" vibe
>Ragyo wants people to transcend to higher beings
Happy meals for fibers from outer space hardly qualified as higher beings.
Ragyo is coco in the coconut
How many more daughters does she have to molest for you to understand?
She has two daughers and only molested one. she also only experimented and threw away only one out of two. so she could be twice as bad. That's math.
Saying life is full of contradictions is not the same as doublespeak.
For starters Satsuki is being sincere in her statement while The Party used doublespeak to manipulate and control people.
Ragyo is also very special.
Her weird hair hints it.
Wasn't it supposed to be a mutualistic relationship?
The life fibers feed on our bodily fluids, and in return, they give us power and knowledge.
People are just predicting everything in every direction and act as if they knew it all a long after it happened.
>Happy meals for fibers from outer space hardly qualified as higher beings.
The people aren't "evolving" they wont even have a symbiotic relationship with the Fiber like Ryuuko does. They're just bacon for space aliens.
Nope, life fibers mutated simians to humans because they couldn't feed on the primitives. Besides, if this shit was symbiotic, there would be zero reasons for rebellion other than MUH FATHER MUH SISTER.
>Satsuki is still on her 1984 Slavery is freedom shit,
That quote made her sound like a generic villain when she made it in the first episode, but in the last episode when she also said it after she rebelled against her mother it made sense in the context.
>Fear is freedom! Control is release! Contradiction is truth! That is the reality of this world!
She conquered Japan so she can create a force strong enough to fight against her mother. She brought fear so she can bring freedom through it, etc.
At least that's how I understood it.
You mean dotonbori robo?
I'm actually enjoying the new developments from the recent eps and this is coming from someone who thought KLK was an overrated mediocrity and came close to dropping it several times.
I didn't care about Satsuki before, but the last three eps have changed my opinion now that we know a bit more about her.
Took you long enough, Trigger and it looks like you weren't lying about shit getting real. Hopefully you finish strong.
I'm really thinking right now that Satsuki will defeat Nui, steal her scissors blade and wear her as a Kamui.
I wish Trigger would do that.
>was predicted from
That was just speculation 'wouldn't it be a cool twist if...!' that first episodes generate - no one actually knew for sure just like everyone was saying that Satsuki was the one with the other scissor half (which wasn't true)
I bet Ryuuko is gonna come with something like "we can have a simbiotic relationship with them guys"
And then set off for space with the life fibers set to Don't lose your way with Mako and Satsuki shedding tears.
I would like to see them make a plan to severe her connection with the life fibers not knowing that it would return her sanity but only thinking it'd make her less powerful than she already is. So when they expect to have the same Ragyo they've grown to hate, who they think is now cornered they have an entirely different person who's just suffering.
I want to see flashbacks of her when she was normal and then fast forward to her connection with the life fibers being cut off, her pupils dilating as all her actions flash before her eyes when she finally becomes sane again and just her
trembling before bellowing a blood curdling scream as she collapses to her knees, hitting her head against the floor while trying to scream all of her past actions out of existence.
Have her either kill herself at that point, go into a comma, or die of blood loss from being severed from the life fibers she fused with.
And then Ryuko + Friends go off and fight the life fibers. The rest isnt too important to me.
>it may be bad for your heart
I'm sure Ryuuko agrees with that one.
Aikurou fires the Starch Bullet at Ragyou and they run away. Watch the extended preview.
I can't believe people are rewriting the first 15 episodes of Ryuuko getting beaten up and humiliated and used as buttmonkey for jokes consistently just to fit their retarded "she is a Mary Sue" agenda.
How is Satsuki the main character when now the story is all about Ryuuko?
>infant genetic experiments and abandonment
it symbolized abortion
But he isn't. Ryuuko has gone through more character development than Luke ever did. Outside of the extended universe.
these are the flashback colors m8
That's my top guess at what's going to happen. I better win something awesome if that happens.
>Tragic past where she is oppressed for no real reason? Check
She was never oppressed, that's Satsuki's backstory. Ryuuko was neglected.
>Stupid Streak in her hair that's out of place for her world? Check
Like Inumuta's blue hair or Nonon's pink hair or Tsumugu's mohawk? Don't be fucking retarded.
>Super Special weapon? Check
Satsuki also had one.
>Super Special Armor? Check
Satsuki also had one.
>Always shown to be right about whatever she says? Check.
What the shit? She makes a lot of mistakes and apologizes for them. If there is anything Ryuuko isn't is being infallible.
>Villains who oppress her are sadistic jerks?
But Satsuki and the Four Kings just got rewritten into perfect saints.
>The villains who aren't jerks thinks she's the shit? Check
That's called a rivalry.
>She's never proven wrong, really.
She was wrong when she called Senketsu just a piece of clothing and almost gets it killed by Tsumugu. She was wrong when she underestimated Sanageyama in the second round. She was wrong for letting Mako take all responsibility and credit during the Fight Club incident. She was wrong when she went berserk and had to be calmed down by Mako. She was wrong when she was afraid of wearing Senketsu. She was wrong when she fell for Nui's Nagita trap. She was wrong when she exploded at Tsumugu in Nudist Beach and shit would have gone bad if it wasn't for Mako. Ryuuko is fucking wrong all the time.
They will explain how she got rescued as a flashback. The extended preview says "Ryuuko is bedridden" so she will already be half-dead but "safe" in the present time.
the rest of the world has been taken over by COVERS, good guys are the resistance
we early TTGL nao
I was on a business trip when it aired.
What was /a/'s general reaction to the episode?
I loved it. Satsuki's my favorite character and I still loved it.
For the last time it was not 10 years. He would have had to completely change his appearance in possibly ~1 year and even then that doesn't account for who the fuck would have been taking caring of Ryuuko until she was 4.
Satsuki's dad was still normal and with her when she was 5 and was saw old Isshin dropping a 5-6 year old Ryuuko at school, and she ended up moving there because they didn't get along while living together before that.
I thought they were just going to kill Satsuki off last episode.
They can't do that yet. They still have to do the Dante and Vergil esque combo final attack with Ryuko and Satsuki.
No one has died yet and you can hardly call what's happening brutal. I really don't know where do you get this impression from.
I was pretty certain she might live, but after I saw the energy blast I did have a thought that might be it. That's the first time we've seen this in Kill La Kill and I figured they'd use it to kill somebody. Instead we just got a bloodcurdling scream.
All the Satsukifags wanted to hug Satsuki, people were flipping out over the sister thing but you still had some people trying to say Ragyo is wrong and her mom is still Kinue and everyone hated Ragyo but respected her at the same time.
Is trigger going to show fake flashbacks of Satsuki or Ryuuko thinking what it would have been like to have a sister growing up?
I doubt it but, I would love to see it.
Funny i've always considered Luke to be a terribly boring protagonist. His character arc is cool and the circunstances around him interesting but he himself as a character is incredibly dull and underreactive. Han Solo or Vader are much more exciting to wstch than him.
Compared to Ryuuko who is very receptive and reactive to the thing happening around her i find the young Jedi to.be the boring one.
Are you saying that episode 18 wasn't METAL AS FUCK?
>Show Satsuki thinking about it
>She smiles(for once) about itwhile fighting through tears.
That rain looks warm and soothing.
It may be, but it's not really brutal.
Someone should add a rainbow
My theory is that Matoi Isshin was either the father of (Matoi) Souichirou or (Matoi) Ragyo, making Isshin the grandfather of Ryuuko
Otherwise having him be "just some guy who adopted Ryuuko and started an anti-life fibers organization just cuz" sounds dumb as fuck, so there must be some close connection somewhere in there
>I gotta find out who kill my grandadu
Isshin won't be related to Ryuuko or Satsuki at all, he is just going to be a scientist who found her.
I say this because I'm pretty certain Trigger is going to have Ryuuko completely denounce her Kiryuin name and say she is a Matoi and her mother died when she was born.
Who knows where that leaves Satsuki, though? Technically Satsuki's mother died when she was born too. Ragyo is not a mother, she's a monster.
I don't see why Isshin wouldn't start with being her grandfather, if that was the case, just acting as if her parents died/killed.
>Sorry Satsuki but I don't need half-assed allies
>inb4 they all start living in Mako's house because they don't have a Mom or Dad.
Nah that looks like a full ass to me.
Ryuuko's not a bitch anon.
>he is just going to be a scientist who found her.
Again, that doesn't make any sense in the way stories are told
Isshin is old, Isshin is a scientist who creates Kamuis and works with life fibers
Ragyo and Souichirou also worked with life fibers and we know that the Matoi family had a mansion rather than just a house indicating that they were of some wealth
Her parents were terrible people and he was probably ashamed to be related to them
Why does this remind me of those 17th century jap prints?
But it does please me for whatever reason.
Nudist beach seemed to make it sound like he invented other things and the money he got from those lead to his living conditions, he heavily funded Nudist Beach too, remember?
Having him being related won't make sense because it gets rid of that snappy line they usually have MC's say when it's revealed they're related to the evil monster antagonist. She is going to completely denounce having anything to do with the Kiryuins and if Satsuki actually reacts positively to being related to Ryuuko maybe she will as well, it's not like that name has brought her anything but bad memories anyways, maybe she'll want to start fresh.
It's not even "very ecchi", if you can quantify ecchi-ness.
>Satsuki actually reacts positively to being related to Ryuuko maybe she will as well
If she's not dead or her will hasn't shattered completely yet, maybe.
If Satsuki and Ryuuko are the grandchildren of Matoi Isshin wouldn't that enable Satsuki to give up the Kiryuiin name as well though?
Ultimately I'm leaning towards the possibility of Isshin having originally given Ragyo the first Kamui and Ragyo being Isshin's daughter, since it would explain why Ragyo originally had a Kamui
Are you ready for [Electric Shamisen fades out] next episode?
Satsuki's not dead, her inner skyscraper fell down but it will be built back up again and better than before. Probably with the help of others.
She kind of needs people right now, it's a bit of a shame that the preview seems to imply she's all by herself.
I can't believe some people haven't figured this out yet, it's so obvious.
>If Satsuki and Ryuuko are the grandchildren of Matoi Isshin wouldn't that enable Satsuki to give up the Kiryuiin name as well though?
I guess it might make more sense that way, but then Ryuuko isn't completely denouncing her Kiryuin blood unless I guess Matoi is just Ragyo's Father in law but this is starting to get convoluted. IF Satsuki reacts positively to being related to Ryuuko then I don't think Trigger is going to have they're going to have Ryuuko reject her. You could have Satsuki say
>I am the sister of Ryuuko Matoi, not the daughter of Ragyo Kiryuin.
Or something like that.
It's not obvious at all, We've seen Soichi when Satsuki was 5 and Isshin when Ryuuko was roughly the same age. Unless you're saying that he kept going back and forth and put on an old man disguise every single time.
If they're related all he's Soichi's dad, or something. But they aren't the same person.
Call me when somebody dies outside a flashback.
Seriously though, if you think this is brutal, maybe KLK really is babby's first anime.
Maybe, but having Isshin as Ryuuko's grandfather seems to me to tie all the characters together nicely without Isshin just being some guy who was digging in the garbage looking for life fiber babies
To be fair, so far we've had
- Slice of Life
- Straight up hentai
- Monster of the week
And episode 18 was an apocalyptic beat-em-up with post-human demigods and full frontal nudity.
And with episode 19, they should fire up the school Mech.
So we're either getting a cooking episode, beach episode with the Proto-Life Fiber, or perhaps some, like... western or tragedy or steampunk or a timeskip 1000 years into the future.
No pictures of them getting along, eh?
Everyone thinks that she would be thoroughly fucked if Ryuuko was in the picture.
>Indian Jones-style heart grabbing
She certainly grabbed MY heart.
>straight up hentai
Punch yourself in face please
Getting your shit handed to you and molested AGAIN by your psychopathic clown demigod mom and then watching your brand new sister get her internal organs ripped out of her seems brutal.
Unless our only metric for brutality is shitfuck gorefests like fuckin' Blood+C or Attack on Titan.
Why would they, Nonon's a selfish bitch
>Then brings up TTGL as an example
Yeah man, they should watch real brutal animes like ELFEN LIED!
I'm starting to think I'm the only person who's watched Higurashi and Umineko.
This is far from brutal, I bet you cover your eyes while watching SnK you filthy casual. You're the reason i can't enjoy KlK.
>Satsuki tells Ryuuko about the handholding thing Nonon said
>Every time both of them walk by Nonon
>"Satsuki-nee, hold my hand."
It's not brutal if it's without consequence. It's like seeing an anvil dropped on someone in Bugs Bunny or something. It may sound brutal, but it's not.
If nobody dies, this is just comic violence.
Done and done! What next?
Get out... GET OUT OF MY HEAD OoT!
>Not watching Umineko for it's art direction
I actually can't play the game. They all have fucking massive foreheads and It's distracting.
I've been waiting for someone to pilot the school mech since episode 1
Oh no, I just saw the 30 second preview
Monkey's really going to die, isn't he?
>Nonon switches sides because she knows she can't compete with imouto moe.
I can't handle this level of trolling
Now I want a little sister.
>I actually can't play the game.
You should probably go back to /v/ now
It wasn't funny though, it was brutal.
Nothing sexual about this at all right?
I had no problem with it, to be honest.
It was just Satsuki and her whore mother that got the violent treatment.
However, the very last scene of episode 18 just broke my heart.
I wish I could be there for her.
Episode 18 commentary:
>Even if he is not her real father, the relationship with Isshin will also be very important.
>How exactly did he and Ryuuko spend her childhood?
GREATEST OLD MAN GETTING FOCUS SOON
Ragyo is best girl.
Why would you pick anyone else over the most experienced woman in the cast?
such a cool mom
i'd rather cuddle with Nui though
Suck it Ragyou.
>cuddling with clowns
Isshin confirmed NOT to be Soichiro.
Fucking CALLED it.
He wanted to have sex with Ryuuko that's why he sent her to boarding school.
Where is the option for "a cactus made of chainsaws and razor-blades," please? I want something less hazardous to my health and sanity.
That ain't hentai. That ain't even nudity. Hell, that ain't even softcore nudity, that's just a skimpy outfit.
They are the same. Ryuuko never saw her father until the day he died.
Nope, he will be the greatest dad of all time. HE DID EVERYTHING FOR HIS ADOPTED DAUGHTER.
Nui reigns supreme.
No, Trigger confirmed they aren't related.>>102254972
>created a slutty outfit to fuel his sexual fantasies about a loli he adopted
>sent her away and never shown her parental love
So father, such great.
I made a joke in skype after the first episode.
After episode 18 I spammed the time stamped quote to my skype group. Before they watched the episode
DEE TEE ARRUH
>How exactly did he and Ryuuko spend her childhood?
Abandoned Girl Got Tough After Being Molested
>Look at how hardcore I am!!!
That doesn't confirm he isn't the father. That just means that even if he wasn't, the characterization of Isshin is important to the protagonist and should not be forgotten by the audience.
Cut that doge shit out.
God, this is fucking killing me. Those poor girls.
>I'm a scrub
OH SHIT!! REALLY?
EVERYONE IS RELATED
>read the lyrics along with the song
>I can't understand a single word
Why can't japanese people just leave my language alone?
I hope we someday get a spinoff manga/OVA where Satsuki is happy and has a nice childhood
IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW
Isshin is too old to be Souichirou
>>>If you in, that Nagareko and Satsuki-like was found to be a sister, brother and sister theory of pongee-Nagareko I guess is going-out. No, do not know yet. It's those "Kirurakiru".
OH MY GOD!
> If you to, that Nagareko and Satsuki-like was found to be a sister, brother and sister theory of pongee-Nagareko I guess is going-out. No, do not know yet. It's those "Kirurakiru".
Proper translation from Bing: To the brother sister theory is a tsumugi-flow child fizzled is the Satsuki and ryuko's sister and found?. Nope still not sure. 'キルラキル'.
Alright gentlemen, time to get those Kinue speculations back.
Who the fuck is Nagareko?
Ryuko = nagareko
>Now that Satsuki-sama and Ryuuko were said to be sisters, the theory of Tsumugu and Ryuuko being brother and sister is fizzling out, right? Well, I wouldn't say that just yet. This is Kill la Kill.
How the fuck could Tsumugu be Ragyo's son, though? Ragyo isn't Kinue if that's the case because that was his sister, that would make him Satsuki and Ryuuko's uncle not brother.
>Ryuuko is related to fucking everyone in the show EXCEPT for Isshin.
Nah, she's also not related to Monkey.
Blood related, that is.
They will become husband and wife at the end.
Kinue was probably just a number of scientists who were pushed to fight against Ragyo because she saw the horrors of Ragyo's plan. Tsumugu is unrelated as well.
>implying Ryuuko isn't a lesbian
>implying it won't end with Ryuuko X Mako X Senketsu OT3
SOUICHIROU IS SATSUKI'S FATHER BUT NOT RYUUKO'S.
??? IS RYUUKO'S FATHER AND ALSO TSUMUGU'S FATHER.
ISSHIN IS JUST SOME DUDE.
>satsuki's face when fucking everyone is related to her
Keep dreaming, deviant.
Ryuuko belongs to patriarchy.
She wants the male dick.
People were making the predictions from the start that they were sisters, but it was baseless. And it was mostly passed of with a "Pfft, no chance."
Now that it's a reality they're just screaming about how brilliant they are.
if you want to destroy my sister
Ragyo got around.
>Wanting the dick
>Being part of the patriarchy despite that the strongest people on the show are all female
The incestual sexual tension between her and Satsuki is palpable.
In the world of fashion, that's how it goes.
She was still with Souichirou at the time, though. Did she cheat on him?
Did he refuse to have another child with her after he attempted to operate on Satsuki so she got a sperm donor or something?
Maybe she had Tsumugu a long time ago but put him up for adoption but where does Kinue come in to this? Kinue is just his half sister?
Maybe she got impregnated with life fibers or some shit, I don't even know.
>Did she cheat on him?
I mean sure, why not. She knows her genetics are good for life fiber fusion, but she doesn't know that Souichirou's are. Might as well fuck a lot of dudes.
>Did he refuse to have another child with her after he attempted to operate on Satsuki so she got a sperm donor or something?
No, rewatch the scene. She is already pregnant with Ryuuko when Satsuki's operation fails.
>Maybe she had Tsumugu a long time ago but put him up for adoption but where does Kinue come in to this? Kinue is just his half sister?
I don't think Tsumugu or Kinue is related to Ragyou, the ages don't seem to line up. Maybe Tsumugu himself is Ryuuko's father?
>conceived by the midichlorians
I think Tsumugu was a red herring. The red hairing that they both have makes it too obvious.
It would have distracted us from the possibility of Ryouko and Satsuki.
>Tsumugu himself is Ryuuko's father
Nah, Tsumugu can't be older than, like, 25. No way is he Ryuuko's actual father.
>Tsumugu can't be older than, like, 25.
Considering the flashback, he's 35+.
>Maybe Tsumugu himself is Ryuuko's father?
and he doesn't mention anything?
I mean, I guess you could argue that he's really just being protective of Ryuuko and doesn't want to hurt her but he ignores Satsuki because he thinks she's blindly following Ragyo's plan.
Looks aren't a good way to judge age in an anime.
Maybe Trigger is just fucking with us with that line, though.
Maybe Ryuuko is the result of Ragyou's random acts of pedophiliac rape.
>the red hairing
>is a red herring
How? There was no time given for when Kinue was killed. Considering that Isshin already defected and Nudist Beach was already created, it could be anytime at all. Isshin was presumably leading them during the years he sent Ryuuko away
Now I see TRIGGER's game.
You're not funny.
We dont know how long ago the Kinue flashback was. for all we know that was a year or two before the show began.
>Tsumugu's sweet bike
>Aikurou's pussy wagon
You thought you had no family, Ryuuko and Satsuki? Why, you're probably related to everyone in this show.
You're related to Nudist Beach, you're probably going to end up being related to Nui too at this rate.
I had an image where am Anon pointed out a single strand of blue hair On Satsuki during Ep 12 when she held the sword to Nui's throat/.
Had it ended up like that, I'm sure it wouldn't be even half as enjoyable as it is now. A large number of people definitely would've dropped it.
Nui is Kinue
Tsumugu and Kinue are Ryuuko's cousins
I know you're autistic and have a hard time accurately gauging emotions, but that isn't sexual tension, that's hatred.
>Tsumugu shot at his sister.
Inu a shit and worst character
I think I'm, like, the only person in the world who liked the Sumerian/language infodumps. I loved the book throughout, but for me it didn't really mess with the pace.
They don't really hate each other either, though. They both seem to hate Ragyo but while they aren't particularly fond of each other they do have some form of respect for one another
He was prepared to kill Ryuuko as well, he's merciless when fighting loife foibers.
Wouldn't he show some kind of an emotional reaction if he saw an alien parasite wearing the corpse of his dead sister?
If Ryuuko's mom is Ragyo, how is Tsumugu related to her?
He might not be, for all we know that line is just trying to get the point across that Kill La Kill is supposed to be crazy and anything can happen. That quote is going to end people in to a frenzy anyways, though. I don't see how he's supposed to be the brother of the two heroines.
He's her uncle, half-brother, or less likely dad.
Wow, how much fanart come out since Ryuko and Satsuki revealed to be sisters? These are pretty fucking kawaii especially >>102255255
Isshin is her adoptive dad, so they wouldn't necessarily be blood-related but then again, that doesn't explain why they bothered to have Tsumugu's hair the same color as Ryuuko's.
Maybe Ragyo took his sperm.
I hope Trigger changes their relationship, if only slightly. Please don't make them still hate eachother Trigger.
They don't really hate each other now.
>Please don't make them still hate eachother Trigger.
Why would they still hate each other?
No because Tsumugu is hardcore like that
I don't know, you could probably think of some stupid reason.
>Hurr ur made of Life Fibers just like mom.
I'm kinda pissed Bakuzan is broken, even though it almost definitely means Satsuki gets the other scissor blade and then her and Ryuuko can be scissor sisters.
I liked that Bakuzan was just a really beautiful, strong, well-respected sword (kinda like its owner) and it didn't even have special power like the scissor blade - it was just a well made sword wielded by a strong character.
Um, you know Satsuki might think Ryuuko will fall under the Life-Fiber influence just like her mother did. Not to mention Ryuuko already went berserk once.
She could think that her sister died that day and that Ryuuko is just a shell animated by Life-Fibers. The only way to grant her sister peace is to destroy the Life-Fiber abomination in front of her.
Ryuuko might think Ragyou is not beyond salvation and Satsuki might be hell-bent on killing her.
You can write it in a multitude of ways
Ragyo is going to die either way, Blumenkranz said so
At this point though I wouldn't be surprised if Satsuki's often talked about resolve is broken and she might be convinced that she's incapable of really accomplishing anything, her 13 year plan failed miserably.
I think she's going to need help from other people to get back on her feet.
>Ryuuko might think Ragyou is not beyond salvation and Satsuki might be hell-bent on killing her.
Ryuuko seems to think Ragyo is a monster, and really why wouldn't she? I don't think that suddenly changes because it turns out she's her mom.
Considering how Trigger talked about how important her relationship with Isshin is going to be I doubt there's going to any second thoughts about Ragyo where Ryuuko is concerned, a familial relationship with Satsuki is possible depending on how Satsuki reacts to this news, but not one with Ragyo.
>Ryuuko seems to think Ragyo is a monster,
Well considering Ryuuko is now in the same boar as Ragyou concerning the complete elimination of Life-Fibers she might rethink her position.
I get the sense that Ryuuko's thoughts about Ragyo don't entirely stem from the Life Fibers but rather her actions.
The person who might have to rethink their words is Satsuki, who did throw in the Life Fiber part of it to explain why Ragyo is a monster. That's the line you should be worried about when it comes to how Satsuki might take this news if you want them to become more friendly to each other. Is she going to go on a path of reflecting after this, is she going to feel bad for saying that or is she just going to reinforce it for herself and not consider Ryuuko her sister because of it but a monster like Ragyo.
>missing leg Ryuuko
I'd love to see the KLK characters in those Grindhouse films
>Nui is Kinue
>the life fiber experiments actually worked but the incubation period lead Tsumugu to believe she was dead
>Kinue adopts a new persona and goes crazy with her powers
>Only Ragyo knows
Ding Ding Ding we have a winner
>sister lesbian incest fetish ignited by Frozen
>Ryuuko and Satsuki are now prime candidates
Muh heart and muh dick
I distinctly recall someone actually claiming this and saying the nose and chin looked alike.
But I don't think even that person was really serious back then.
Of course someone said it, there are thousands of KlK-posts every day around here.
It's a matter of how relevant the theory was.
It's still retarded for someone to now go "I knew it!" off of a baseless guess from the beginning
I'm tearing up
the song makes it worse
Kill me now. I can't handle it
That song always got me misty eyed.
>>102260861 basically sounds similar to the sort of narrative I gave Isshin since the backstory was revealed.
Isshin is KLK's unsung hero
If Trigger does a flashback sequence with all that shit and the song playing I'll start bawling like a bitch
I think I'd have to pause the episode to cry if that happened.
Maybe he'll finally get the credit he's due when I Want to Know starts playing as we see all the shit he had to go through with loli Ryuuko, eventually culminating in the decision to leave her at the school for her own safety. And as the final notes of the song play, we'll see his face - the face of a man forced to give everything in the name of humanity.
How he gave up everything to protect that smile, and all smiles, everywhere.
My heart can't take it anon.
ryuko a cutest
Many heroes do not wear capes.
Isshin is one of them ;_;
I wonder if he knew who Ryuuko's mom actually was.
Sending her away to boarding school was a way to get her far from Ragyo
He knew about life fiber research and that ryuko was experimented on with them so I assume he had a pretty good guess on who's newborn daughter it was.
Fair enough. How did he get so knowledgeable about Life Fibers, though? Sure, he worked with them, but to create a suit and weapon to destroy them means he had to have a Ragyo-tier understanding of them.
>You have to break a few eggs to make an omlet
Perhaps he was one of the top scientist of REVOCS who caught wind of all the nasty shit Ragyou was up to, and defected, but not before gathering intelligence on both the properties of Life Fibers, and the only weapon known to cut them, Bakuzan?
He must have been rich to afford that mansion he and Ryuuko were living in. Maybe he was a close friend of Souchirou? We'll find out soon enough.
Falling gently down on the terrain?
>tfw people sharing my OC
WASH AWAY THE SORROW OF THE STAINS OF TIME
We know he got money by selling his inventions, so that's probably where the mansion came from.
When was it said that Bakuzan was the only known weapon that could cut life fibers?
>No one dies in Kill la Kill
RIP in pieces
BUT THERE'S NO MEMORY IT'S ONLY DRY INSIDE
IN THE MUD IT'S SINKING DEEPER
>When was it said that Bakuzan was the only known weapon that could cut life fibers?
It wasn't, but I think it's pretty obvious, right? The Scissor Blades, Tailor's Knife, alloy needles - they were all reverse-engineered off of the Kiryuuin's Life Fiber killer, Bakuzan. Isshin merely improved upon its design with the Scissors, by somehow, finding out how to KILL Life Fibers.
Into a peaceful life...
AND IT WILL COME
LIKE A FLOOD OF PAIN
POURING DOWN ON ME
AND IT WILL NOT LET UP UNTIL THE END IS NEAR
Bakuzan lived a hard life...
a hero, broke, but not forgotten
Possible, of course, but bakuzan always seemed to me to just be a really sharp blade wielded by a strong person. I never considered it had any special abilities.
AND IT WILL COME
THROUGH THE DARKEST DAY
IN MY FINAL HOUR
I love Ryuuko more than anyhting in the world.
AND IT WILL NEVER REST UNTIL THE CLOUDS ARE CLEAR
UNTIL IT FINDS MY DREAMS THAT DISSAPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAREEEDDDD
Good night, sweet prince.
But now she gets the other half of the scissor blade. It'll be glorious
why can't she be real anon
This was already known as soon as Souichirou appeared. You idiots should pay attention to what you watch. Isshin himself said he was in his sixties
>But now she gets the other half of the scissor blade. It'll be glorious
Not if you're Nui.
Nui is gonna die like a bitch.
I hope her other eye gets slashed out by Monkey, before he dies taking her down
>I hope her other eye gets slashed out by Monkey, before he dies taking her down
And I think Nui would enjoy that.
All it needs left is tumbling down
Poked by Monkey's small dick
I want to find a way to make that gif the little icon that tells me pages are loading.
THE MEMES RYUKO\
Seriously Platinum x Trigger when?
will monkey die or is trigger just teasing, i mean it looks to obvious for me in the trailer that he is gonna die
There better be a CUHRAYZEE Platinum KLK game when the series is over
11 CM FLACCID PENIS
DO YOU KNOW HOW HUGE IT GETS WHEN IT'S ERRECT?
I'd rather have a fighting game, nothing in KLK strikes as particularly cuhrayzee
>stylish dodging action
>serial escalation plot
>red oni blue oni
>suddenly genre shift
>Rank and combos
>nothing in KLK strikes as particularly cuhrayzee
Nothing in MG1, MG2, and MGS1-3 really seemed crazy, and even Raiden wasn't TIME FOR JACK, TO LET ER RIP in MGS4.
So Monkey IS gay?
>nothing in KLK strikes as particularly cuhrayzee
Even so, with the cast this series has, I'd rather had a fighting game, a good parcial roster could be:
While I think it could be fun, this series has so many characters that would be nice to play as, that I would rather have a fighting game
>nothing in KLK strikes as particularly cuhrayzee
Performance anxiety, he was in-front of the whole Gym
>I'd rather have a fighting game, nothing in KLK strikes as particularly cuhrayzee
Nah, a fighting game would be too PREDICTABOO. plus it would be nice if KlK would have a good single player campaign. A fighting game would simply be the easy way out.
What? Are you saying you don't want to have a CUHRAYZEE boss battle with Satsuki-sama, Four Devas,Nui Harime, etc?
Having then in a fighting game means the strength of their attacks will have to be gimped for balance reasons.
