what happened?

They run out of make-up

Anime characters looked less of a blow up doll and more like a real person?

I bet in 10 years, there's going to be another "Anime back then and Anime now" thread and the one on the left will be the image on the right, and the image on the right will be
>>
Anime then: exaggerated features, characters have western features

Anime now: Ghibli lifeless designs
>>
>>102202771
I don't think the Heidi anime was meant to be based off Yumiko Igarashi's manga, but rather on the original Swiss tale, so it makes sense for the designs to be significantly different.
I do prefer the classic shoujo style, though.
>>
shojo manga sexualize everyone

>implying ghibli design isn't superior to everything
>>
>>102202771
Superior Nippon Animation style happened.

Do someone actually like the monster in the right side?
>>
>>102203358
>characters have western features
nigger, they are cartoons
fuck off back to pol
>>
>>102204148
Ghibli is the cancer killing anime.
>>
>>102203358
I don't remember western people having pupil-only eyes.
>>
>>102204416
It's the opposite.
>>
>>102204423
or lipless, teethless, tongue less mouths from which golden light emanates

>pupil-only eyes
Her irises are also exaggerated in the design.
>>
holy shit the one on the left looks like something you could use for psychological horror
>>
>>102204416
Ghibli is actually the chemo.
>>
You compared anime to manga.
>>
I'm pretty sure when it comes to actual animation, people would choose the right.

Putting the left on TV would be hard to not only get right but stay on point and looks kind of weird

They're actually both by the same artist.

I suppose she has better days. Also, the anime designs look much nicer.
>>
My god, people like that fucking fiend on the left?

I know this is /a/ and having bad taste is a requirement to fit in, but seriously. Holy fuck.

You are the one with shit taste, anon.

If you want to compare that art with the ABOMINATION in the OP, we might as well close the board off.

Seriously, people bandwagoning on obviously abhorrent crap because it's "classic" or because people of the past somehow managed to reach the conclusion that shit looked good piss me off.

Nothing wrong with Oniiisama E anime of course.
