Is this worth watching?
>>
>>102192484
no.
but worth playing
>>
Watching I dunno. But playing, fucking yes.
>>
No.

It's kinda worth playing though.
>>
I liked it but I'd have to say no.
>>
read it instead

honestly the anime wasn't bad, just that the VN was so much better
>>
meh. but playing yes
>>
>>102192536
>but worth playing

Not OP, but I tried the game and was bored out of my mind. Maybe VN's just aren't for me.

I hate how everything is dragged out and I have to sit through each character's bullshit ass slice of life dialogue before anything substantial happens. I do not see how people play through these things.

>>102192484
not a bad watch after you play the vn, but definitely wouldn't recommend it as your first go to for the series
rin best girl
>>
>>102192688
Nah, Key just has really lazy writing and their slice of life is really bad despite it being a staple of their works.
>>
>>102192688
but that thats point of VN's and even books in general.
Storylines and mainly character development can't advance without first knowing everyones personalities which is established in seemingly menial bullshit
>>
>>102192688
>I do not see how people play through these things

Same reason normalfag read books or like breaking bad, "nothing fucking happens" makes you sink into the story more, then when shit goes down it has more impact.

You're just too used to fast paced things.
>>
>>102192688
Oh man, I hated it too.
>>
>>102192484
Fuck off, you new? Lurk moar.
>>
>>102192688
I can see where you're coming from, I enjoy SoL/comedy though so it was fine with me. The front part is really bad though, I slogged through it only because I was promised 10/10 Refrain. It delivered, but I'm still unsure if it's worth it to go through 30 hours of subpar SoL for one good route.
>>
>>102192891
Why would I lurk when 12 people before you gave me an answer of substance? To avoid the one m-muh rec thread c-culture guy who'll inevitably let his autism bubble up to the surface?

Thank you /a/ for your input otherwise.
>>
>>102193006
This is more of a special case because it's actually a kind of complicated question. Sort of like, 'should I watch F/SN?' There are too many circumstances surrounding it to tell someone to fuck off and decide for themselves.

Anyways, I used a shit ton of alcohol to get through it because the majority of it sucks and then the very end is good. Not great, but good. Wasn't worth it to me.
>>
>>102192484
Well for one, I liked the series without ever playing the VN. I marathoned both LB and LB:Refrain in one big gulp and loved it. Sure, there are a lot of filler or bleak episodes that possibly just barely scratch the surface of VN story, but I liked both the healing athmosphere, characters and the stretched ending in Refrain. It was a good ride. I wholeheartedly reccomend you to marathone the fuck out of the whole series at once.
>>
On a related note: what about the EX stuff? anime out yet? VN translated?
>>
>>102193183
VN translation is proceeding at a glacial pace. Dunno about any anime for it.
>>
>>102193183
VN's stuck on about 60%. Probably will never get finished.
First episode of EX aired. Apparently it's gonna get butchered as well.
>>
>>102193183
like all VN translations, it'll come out in roughly never
>>
>>102193183
Ex aired ep 1 around 2 weeks ago. Not sure though about when the other spisodes are coming out.

Please don't listen to this guy. As someone who has seen both I assure you the anime is horribly inferior. Relative to the VN I'd give it -5 on a scale of 1 to 10. It cuts extremely important moments, don't sell yourself short by spoiling the story with the anime.
>>
>>102193338
>it cuts extremely important moments
like what? i read the vn and can't think of any "extremely important" parts. JC staff adapted a lot of the shit in refrain poorly but didn't miss much
>>
>>102192536
This so hard, same with Clannad.
>>
>>102193397
Not that guy but I'm still mad they cut out the hospital end and half of Rin 2.
>>
>>102193397
They fucked up Rin2 finale. Also, they cut the hospital room. The fucking hospital room. How could you miss that?
>>
It's not as good as the VN, but head & shoulders above most of the other shit masquerading as anime.
So still worth a watch.
>>
>>102193423
>>102193447
I don't even remember the hospital room
I need to re play this clearly

>>
>>102193484
Stop telling lies, people should read the VN because of how brutal and good Refrain is and how boring the anime makes it.

The anime is only decent in making the Common Route animated and you see it fall apart when the routes are shown.

>Rin and I will create a world
This still bothers me. I know Bokura no Asa pretty much confirms that their in reality, but this bit still gives me doubts.
>>
>>102192688
This is what i like shorter VNs. Those >50h games just fill 90% of games with every cliche possible and last 10% is something new and interesting.
>>
>>102193493
Not to mention they spammed Song for Friends thought Refrain, but the one time they should play it, they don't.

>Trying to save everyone
>>
>>102193636
The interpretation I prefer is that the initial failure and the hospital is Kyousuke's last bit of the dream world, to make sure they know to run. They reject this, find the strength they need in their own dream world, then return to reality to finish the job. I personally believe this is overthinking though, and that it's a genuine piece of Keymagic time-reset bullshit by Jun Maeda.
>>
>>102193706
Just because one idiot is retarded does not mean the entire human race can't do it's best to save as many as possible, even if it includes everyone.
>>
>>102193724
But what about when they choose it's enough?
How does the dream continue thus?
>>
god bless
>>
>>102193835
If they choose it's enough, it's basically choosing to follow the path Kyousuke laid out before them - they return to the real world, run from the bus, and everybody else dies.
