I kinda wanna watch the One Peace Anime but holy shit there is like 500 billion episodes and I only really care about chopper. When does it get interesting?
Don't bother with the anime.
If you really want to get into One Piece read the manga but even then there are much better manga out there you could be spending your time on instead.
But I wanna know why Jippin loves it so much. Like they are obssessed with it and there has to be some reason why
Because it's fun. /a/ hates fun.
Where does it start getting fun?
Cause early episodes where it's just Luffy and like Nami are super boring.
When they hit the grand line around 60, but there are quite a few good parts before that so just quit being a bitch and commit.
This guy is right though, there are better things but it's pretty good for a shounen and kinda fun to keep coming back to it and watch a few new episodes every once in a while.
Is it worth sitting through 60 episodes just to see a "Few good parts"
You said you only care for chopper. Skip to the Drum Island arc, you will eventually know what there is to know about everything if you take a few hours to read the wiki.
one piece film Z streaming right now come on join dont miss out on the fun.
At least wait until you get to the grand line. If it hasn't gotten interesting for you by then idk what to say.
But if you can make it to the Alabasta arc and still not like it, I would suggest not reading it.
hard to say, cuz i watched the first episodes when i started and that was years ago, but its great
definetly better than bleach or naruto
>definetly better than bleach or naruto
Shonen shit is in general pretty bad, but I cannot stop reading OP every week. I have enjoyed almost every arc in the series. The only one I can think of off the top of my head that I found boring was Fishman Island.
To be fair there is good Shonen like Rave Master, and good silly Shonen like Toriko. It's not a deep Genre but it can be fun, but if you're looking for Berserk or Evangelion you won't find it anywhere
I know, I'm just saying that shonen is a "genre" where you have to pic out a few gems out of a pile of feces.
The gems can be quite good, but sifting though manure is tedious.
Just read the manga d00d.
I would say Alabasta is where is REALLY starts getting good. Like, actual exhausting 1 on 1 fights.
I always prefer to watch Anime before I read Manga.
I always get blown away by good Manga usually but I find it much harder to get into.
I was lie that with Berserk and I really can't throw myself into a Manga without caring about the characters first, I don't know why
>I always prefer to watch Anime before I read Manga.
But that's wrong.
You can't do that, if the anime is an adaption of a manga you HAVE to read the manga first.
It's the same with books and movies based on books!
I know I know I should.
I know the Manga is better.
I know there is no filler so it's better.
I know the art and pacing is better.
But I'm too lazy to read right now and I'd rather just lie back and watch shit so it fires me up to read.
This is dumb, but in the case of OP you really should stick to the manga. The anime just isn't very good. I'd recommend checking out the filler arcs or the episodes for your favorite bits that you really want to see animated, and just leaving the rest.
>The only one I can think of off the top of my head that I found boring was Fishman Island.
That shit was so bad that I doubt it was made by Oda at all. My theory is that he went on vacations for a year, and when he came back he tried to set the series afloat again with the Punk Hazard arc.
rave master what shit. So is that other manga that makes no sense at all: fairy tail. All of the plots are predictable up to the "plots twists". We know NAAATSSSUUUUUUU saves the day with some bs power up or "lol i was stronger than you the whole time even though you were acting all tough and shit"
how did bleach become so popular in NA? I don't understand how all of my friends prefer to read/watch naruto and bleach over one piece. Bleach is practically dead in japan, but here it's still one of the big 3. I don't understand.
Also people need to read toriko. The next flagship
No, the problem with fishland was that the anime was running too close to the manga, so they had to set them apart, so instead of making an anime hiatus (the most obvious solution) of making a filler, they decided to extend an already painfully slow arc, but instead of adding stuff in between, they slowed it down by making scenes longer, more pauses, etc...
But I share your feel. I'd recomend anyone watching the anime to just skip it.
I tried to get into Toriko, but the whole setting is just too silly to enjoy it.
I think sky island took way too long, it draged on pretty bad
Skypeia was slow at first, but after you learned they got to the sacred island or whatever it was fantastic. It was also the last time besides maybe Thriller Bark where Robin did something interesting.
She used to be my favorite SH, but now Oda just makes her Nami tier. It's so frustrating because in Alabasta she was easily on par with Zoro and Luffy.
I actually Opened up toriko About 6 times, and couldn't get past the first like 10 pages, and that was only the introduction in the Toriko world. Once I read the first chapter though, I was hooked. Idk how long you read into it, but I suggest you give it another shot. It really is good.
>the whole setting is just too silly to enjoy it
>I only read serious, mature manga for serious, mature people such as myself
Anyone got any good pics of Magellan or Hannyabal?
I got to the part where Magellan says "He better not die, he's the only one who can replace me" and cried.
>Only care about chopper
But he's easily the worst SH
i could get into anime if 98% of the community weren't elitist neckbeards talking about how much better whatever cringey shit theyre into is better than whatever someone else likes
It's more like 95%, bro. And to be honest, a lot of the fan base for anything is elitist. Especially on /a/.
Just read it. The anime isn't worth your time except for a few moments you can find on youtube
Anime is good until Ennies Lobby. Just skip filler arcs.
