I was talking with my friend and I said, "Hey, remember that scene in Haruhi that made no god damn sense?" and he says, "Yeah, you mean the scene where Haruhi and Nagato start playing instruments and it does a completely out of the blue musical number for like two minutes and for some reason it has amazing production values?"
So, I came to /a/ to ask. Seriously, what the fuck is up with that?
Read the novels.
Does it seriously explain it there?
I think the scene where nagato and koizumi are acting in front of the camera and start saying their lines. What they talked about could have been something that was actually true and not just part of haruhi's movie script.
You're both dumbshits.
don't lie anon
What was wrong with that scene? They replaced the injured band member. I'm pretty sure the anime explained that too.
You're talking about the school festival episode, right ? If that's the case, Haruhi explains how she got involved in this right after her singing.
She wanted to sing, so through her "powers" she made it so that she would get the chance. Are you guys dumb shits?
No, we're talking about in the context of the show, why it was necessary.
This is a good explanation contextually, but would you say that the animation team did it as some kind of fan service thing?
Pretty sure she only replaced the wounded member. It wasn't her who caused the injury.
More than singing, she enjoyed the fact she was helping someone and doing something people would thank her for.
>would you say that the animation team did it as some kind of fan service thing?
What the fuck? Aside from Haruhi playing the guitar, it's in the goddamned book.
that song did sell a lot. So yea im sure it was some fan serv with market tactics.
Well gee whiz! I haven't read the book! I am not some kind of poindexter nerd or somethin'!!!!!!!
But thank you, that clears this up.
Haruhi already knew how to play guitar and Yuki can adapt to anything
Well through her passive powers. She didn't injure them but her will to sing and do something exciting in the festival manifested itself in the injury.
So then why wouldn't you just go look up the scene in the LN instead of asking retarded questions and using far too many exclamation points?
Why are you even here?
She literally wanted the spotlight on her.
Did she play the guitar in the book ? I think she only sang. The band wasn't named "ENOZ", also.
What I love about the adaptation is that they made the lyrics of God Knows refering directly to Haruhi's relationship with Kyon, therefore giving it more depth.
Fuckin' gee whiz. I'm sorry, dude.
Yes, they took a scene from the book where Haruhi sings and decided to make it an extended, musical sequence into which they could pour animation budget and then sell the song as a single. It's a good scene too.
Kid you're not old enough to be on this site.
It's not necessary...
>fun things are fun
Also see the realm of possibility
You're missing the whole point here. She wanted to help people, not take their glory for herself. Sauce is Kyon himself.
>I am not some kind of poindexter nerd or somethin'!!!!!!!
Jesus are you 14? Fuck off
Not openly. Her official MO is fighting boredom.
She never expects to be thanked for anything baka
You're acting like a fucking teenager and generally being stupid, it's not funny. Go back to wherever you came from
She never expected to be thanked for anything. She just happened to be on the way of these girls who had a problem, helped them because she felt like it and understood how satisfying it felt to help people.
Which probably made Kyon love her even more.
Gosh darnit and gee willy-willikers. Don't you tell me what to do!
She does help the open minded.
That is explored more in the LNs tho.
Mikuru travels time because of her handy work. Completely outside warping reality and withing the borders of causality.
And that scene with the giant worm thing?
