Does anybody else read Kenichi?
Shit has legitimately just hit the fan. I've been waiting for this since the beginning of the series.
>Does anybody else read Kenichi?
The MC is too much of a moralfag for me.
No this went to shit after the tournament arc.
I do, I love it. Yes it has a lot of Fan service and it can be really distracting but a very enjoyable series
It went to shit when one of the main characters survived a gaping hole through the chest thanks to bandages.
Blame the author for pussying out since he originally planned for one of them to die during that arc.
I can understand people not liking that. But I definitely don't think series breaking
this arc holds my interests
She is the BEST prisoner. It's pretty funny
I liked it back when is was about disciples rather than masters. It's quickly reaching DBZ tier.
yes, my wishes for chaos might come true
I want infighting between weapon masters and martial artists to happen during the war
Much better than the typical damsel in distress.
It has been Master heavy in the last 100 or so chapters but it makes sense as the story is going and currently it looks like Shinpaku is going to get a lot more action
The Fortuna arc was GOAT tier, how did it so quickly turn so bad?
fuck you Miu, you used to be great
I also thought that part was pure bullshit but I still enjoyed it.
I wouldn't be able to handle him dying TBH, he was one of my favourites and it would be like watching a dog die
Why do you think Miu got bad. If anything she has gotten better since getting better control over her Ki
>Kenichi will never be a master
>people only read this still for the ecchi
I know he's "talentless" but it seems he can't put up a decent fight against a master.
He will eventually become one. Its just a slow and steady process which is one of the reasons why I like it so much. As apposed to powering up. He progresses at a realistic pace
Meh, it's the opposite for me. I've always been a fan of the Masters, whether it's their eccentric personalities or over-the-top battles, they just make this series really fun to follow.
>It's quickly reaching DBZ tier.
Not even close. You could take one of the weakest characters from DBZ like Master Roshi and he would easily wreck all the Masters by himself.
Character wise, she's so bland and a cardboard cutout of what she used to be, now it's all overblown tits and ass everywhere along with tsundere shit thrown in here and there.
At the manga's pacing, it has barely been little over a year since he took up martial arts. Fighting toe to toe with Masters that have been taking martial arts for years if not, their whole lives and fight evenly, he'd OP as fuck. Like >>102122150
said, he'll get there eventually.
I don't get the image but:
She isn't bland, she is just more open about her feelings. She is Definitely not Tsundere. The fan service, like I said can be bad, but you just have to look past it
Bitch better recognize.
The masters aren't really interesting though, because all of it is just: "Look, I'm so OP" "No, I'm more OP than you".
We have a great cast of disciple tier chars, like all the people in Shinpaku, but it's been ages since we've had any focus on them
Siegfried best Kenichi
I stopped reading after the first tournament thing (which was the second or third major arc I think).
I just skipped so much of it out of disinterest that I realized I didn't actually know what was happening.
Agreed that we haven't had much disciple time. However that is changing with the current arc. But you know its fun to Watch powerful people be cool. Satsuki, Light, Simon, etc. But yes I am excited for more disciple time
That same thing happened to me during the last few chapters of air gear.
Was it just me? It seemed really twisted in the last few chapters, I had no idea what was going on, and all I skipped were all the speeches about flying and being free and shit like that.
Last arc was super rushed and it added way too many unforgettable characters and concepts within the last SEVERAL chapters.
I did not give a single fuck about the gravity children, the other children, the weird air gear witches, or the tower of babel analogy device that did whatever or something.
All I remember is at the end shark teeth is the son or baby or clone or something of his brother's waifu, everyone fights on an aircraft carrier, and then MC beats wheelchair man.
Also everyone gets to be friends again despite the last few villians being super fucking evil compared to every other arc. Wheelchair is at fault for 90% of all deaths but he gets "reborn" so fuck that.
Remember how Obama switched bodies with that one girl?
should I read this or watch the anime?
>masters train for a lot of years before reaching master status
>there hasnt even been 3 years since kenichi started learning martial arts
>known as talentless
>expecting him to put up a fight againts battle hardened masters with years of training
nigga you dumb
Remember when it was revealed your skill sort of mattered but above that you needed magically regalia in order to gain the superpowers needed to become "king'?
Also it's probably my deep seated misogyny but I disliked the fact Tool Toul To comes out of fucking nowhere and that Ikki and bumfuck have to have their girlfriends there for the final fight.
It should have ended after the virtual fight between old sleeping forest and the main guys.
Watch first and pick up the manga where the anime left off
>The masters aren't really interesting though, because all of it is just: "Look, I'm so OP" "No, I'm more OP than you".
When the attacks turned into blurs and light-beams the Master Fights turned into shit.
I don't even give a shit about a clusterfuck Master Class fight.
When the discipline are fighting that's the only time the series is interesting, which makes me fucking sad, since I used to love ALL of Kenichi's masters.
Anything involving sleeping forest and the gravity children made me hate it.
I just wanted it to be about hoodlums with rollerblades.
for me Kenichi is like fairy tail and air gear, its really fucking stupid and nothing makes sense but once you acknowledge that it becomes sheer entertaining.
i dont expect plottwist, i dont except deepness, i expect nudity and over the top asspull techniques.
i fucking love it.
The master fights can be silly. IE: Shigure's fight with the Weapon Squad, but all the martial arts are based in reality and just exaggerated to the extreme
the only thing about kenichi that pisses me off is that the Hermit vs Siegfried fight happened offscreen.
that shit had so much potential.
Sleeping forest wouldn't have been so bad if they just turned out to be a regular group of badasses instead of the whole gravity children thing.
No magic elemental rollerblades, just exaggerated gang fights.
I disagree, calling fairy tail the same as kenichi. fairy tail is very bland if you don't watch anime a lot and while kenichi doesn't do anything especially different plot wise. It has real martial arts. A slow developing character, like Ippo, and a lot of heart put into it
Is his fights still "oh no I'm being pounded into oblivion but I have a body of lead so I'll win anyway".
>It has real martial arts
There are people who read this stuff expecting plot twists and deepness?
>real martial arts
my sides! they're moving on their own!
Now now, what I mean is. They are BASED on real martial arts but exaggerated to the extreme
Yeah, his "toughness" was a key in the past but now everyone seems to be on the same level of toughness so its more less will and skill now
There seems to be quite a few ass-pulled "martial arts" in the weapons team.
His heart almost exploded a while ago.
Oh there definitely is some silly stuff. Again IE: Shigure's fight with the weapon team. but a lot of the time its semi believable
comparing Kenichi and Ippo is pretty dumb tho.
The only comparison I meant was thier strength development, nothing else
ippo was pretty strong from day one, he just had no confidence.
kenichi was a chump and he still was till mui got kidnapped.
Nobody is acknowledging that this is starting with the master's fights, and building up to the disciples.
We have an all out disciple war to look forward to.
Is this a quick easy read?
For example, with Grappler Baki you can just flip pages and before you know if you've read 300 chapters, but in that same time you could have only read maybe 100 chapters of something like One Piece.
TouMan is gonna sh!t on this retard
No, I'm having a hard time reading this. I don't know why, but I like Minoru better.
Disciple fights are like the minor leagues.
Eh I dropped it years ago. I didn't even like the ecchi, it was just thrown out there too randomly.
Plus the lazer eyes and shit. Powerlevels all over the place. Shit was just stupid, I only cared about Kenichi and Tits McGee getting their snoodsnoo on and him stopping being a faggot.
He sort of manned up but eh, the rest was just shit.
It's gotten bad, really bad, but there's almost always a reason to keep reading.
As an example, i'm currently reading it only for archer girl's delicious abs.
the problem with this series is that the protagonist is still too weak, even after so many volumes, compared to all the other characters
