So that countdown is over... and it seems that all we got is the English trailer and a physical standard edition of the game.
Also, it seems that the VN is gold.
Physical regular edition is good for the people that want a physical copy of it, but don't have the extra $20 to spend. Although, if one of their recent Tweets is correct, they're releasing that version an entire month after the download/Golden edition on the 30th of April. I sincerely hope that's just a typo or error of some sort because that just doesn't seem acceptable.
At least they have an option for it though.
No, it seems to be true.
Oh, wow, I'm dumb. I actually read and looked at that bolded text. I just thought in my head that April was the third month. Life is so rough.
Even more rough for people that pre-order this though. Although, what's another month for people that have been waiting half a year.
That's only for people ordering the new standard edition. The download/limited editions that have been up for pre-order for months now are still coming out March 31st.
When will they dub the film too?
2. That's Funi's job.
Will this get a Steam release?
So, official translation or fan translation? Do either of them use honorifics or have things untranslated?
Just go with the official, it's the same team that did the fan translation and it's gonna be even better. And the official has honorifics and is gonna translate previously untranslated stuff.
I know, but it's still a month more for people that can't afford the golden edition, but want a physical copy.
No announcements for that, but I can only assume it'd be super beneficial to them to do so. So, hopefully they do end up putting it on Steam, especially since visual novels seem to be getting quite poplar on Steam, at least that's what it looks like to me.
I think 5pb. is against it because they're setting up their own download service, or something like that.
I just can't see it happening without the h scenes removed which may cause a shit storm
Oh shut the fuck up.
>especially since visual novels seem to be getting quite poplar on Steam
I've seen a couple OELVNs and I know Narcissu and Higarashi will be released eventually. what else?
That's really it.
Go Go Nippon will be released in about a week. But that's it.
so are there any h-scenes in VN?
No, this is the worst thing you see.
If so, that'd just be dumb. I have no knowledge in this area at all, but I feel like putting it on Steam would only get them more publicity and more money. What downside could there be?
The VN doesn't have anything in it worse than what can be seen on any of the other M rated games on Steam.
Nope. There are some scenes that are a bit risque, but nothing too bad.
Then that doesn't really seem like much. I think Steam has a lot of potential for getting VNs to a Western audience, but unless something huge like the Angel Beats VN makes its way on there, I don't see much of anything happening. It amazes me how little the Nips care about other markets, despite how much money it could make them.
Angel Beats ain't even out in Japan, plus there are those expansion packs and a translation is gonna take forever.
What we really need is for someone to pick back up the Ever17 license.
Hopefully this means we'll get more Nitroplus stuff in the future but I doubt it since its most likely going to sell like shit.
How long before people just give up on the west entirely?
>Angel Beats ain't even out in Japan, plus there are those expansion packs and a translation is gonna take forever.
Yeah, it's gonna be a while. I just meant that VNs will only start to get licensed once a big deal title sets a precedent, like something from Key.
5pb. not Nitro+
Nitro+ just helped out the the VN and were in charge of the PC port, the main development team is at 5pb.
according to the translation
I know it says that on top, but in the actual VN it says Ruka.
>caring what translations say ever
It can be either, depends on the person translating.
Long wait ends soon, congratulations and thanks to everyone involved for making this happen.
Jast says on twitter that they use Luka in translations, last year it was supposed to be Ruka. Maybe this had something to do with it.
Official translations usually have used Luka. It was so in the movie and most op have Luka in them with few exceptions.
This might be the first VN i've paid for.
I'm really tempted to buy the Deluxe edition of this but I have even have a disc drive to install the game to so I'd still be using the downloaded edition. You think it's still worth?
Question is, do you want the book and pins?
If you don't collect stuff or want to support makers there's not much sense to buy limited editions in general.
It wouldn't be incorrect to say that S;G is my favorite anime and one of my favorite series in general and it's been a total bitch to find Pins out side of Cons so I may buy it simply for that.
It would sell fine if they would just PUT IT ON STEAM ALREADY.
They've been dragging their heels for fucking ever on if there's going to be a steam release any time soon.
>buying localized version
After all the shitstorms caused by a faggot translator, it's not even worth it.
