Does no one really remember the series anymore? While I agree it wasn't a good series, the girls were all so lovable, and the plot, had the execution been better, could have been amazing.
Also, can we agree that Akari is hottest Gen'ei?
bump la bump
I can agree with you. Dumping what I have.
Akari's really hot.
It wasn't really very good. But I still very fondly towards it, not really sure why.
Anyone buying the Nendo?
It was fun
She died with a smile on her face
Probably wasn't instantaneous either, she would've taken a few minutes to die from exsanguination and trauma considering it only pierced her lower abdomen probably not hitting an vital organs right away.
I will try to.
Well, both the Akari and Seira ones.
I should have volume 6 ripped in about 2 weeks. It comes out the 25th. I will try to get it out as soon as possible.
I am amazed this show got a happy ending
I really enjoyed this series.
Although it had a lot of flaws, some shit never being explained and the goverment just changing sides and backstabing the bad guy at the end not making any sense, it was damn good.
I kept bitching that Akari getting connected with the enemy and getting all her friends involved in that shenanigan was fucking ridiculous until it turned unto her way out at the and I was all ''FUCK YEAH, IT PAID OFF!''.
Also one of my favorite villains in the past few years. He really was great and truly fucked the cast over hilariously.
Genei needed more love, it seemed like there were only 10 people who actually watched it, does the OVA have subs yet?
Holy shit really? How did I miss this?
Man, it must be terribad to die on your birthday.
Yea, i don't know about seira's though, Akari carried the show for me and I wanted something to remember the fun times we had and it looks super cute, i just know if i need two.
Yes they do. Also, it's a shame the show flopped when it had a great OP by pic related.
Gen'eibros (all 10 of them), what are you guys watching now? Any of you watching Sakura Trick, Nisekoi or KLK?
Banned right now, but another Gen'ei watcher here.
I liked it, probably my favourite of that season. Luna getting the penetrata was pretty memorable too. Shame the ending was pretty weak.
Also that shape-shifting shota turning himself into cute lolis, damn.
Also, you were a great fanbase and the threads with you were enjoyable.
Sakura Trick because fun things are fun. I love the pure love but the threads can get pretty cancerous at time because of /u/ and manhate.
Sekai Seifuku is looking like AOTS its ridiculously fun.
KLK last episode was the best one yet.
Mikakunin is a must watch, the loli alone is enough to watch the series, Benio is the only character i don't really enjoy.
Is Nisekoi worth picking up? I love Shaft but it looked really generic and it being a harem didn't help either.
KlK, Samurai Flamenco, Buddy Complex, Sekai Seifuku, Tokyo Ravens, Mikakunin, Saki, Sakura Trick, Hamatora, Space Dandy, Witch Craft Works, Nobunagun, Nobunaga the Fool, Chuu2, LH.
I have to catch up on most of them though.
just waitin' for the second OST
Forgot to add Tokyo Ravens, Hamatora and Nobunagun. I'm falling behind on the last two though.
You have good taste bro. Why is it flopping (just like Gen'ei)?
And why doesn't anyone remember Gen'ei anymore?
Someone say Akari?
Tokyo Ravens is a Tuesday must for me, the new episode hype can't be missed. I'd have to say its because this season has alot of other great series pulling money away along with simple reason that the nips just have shit taste. There still seems to be alot of misconceptions that Genei is just a Madoka ripoff and that ignorance kills any chance for real discussion.
>HUR DUR FUNAY
Daily reminder that doujins never.
I watched Gen'ei, and I can say that the concept isn't a total Madoka ripoff, but it can't be denied that there were influences. There was the mere concept of Daemonia, and that scene with the girl being eaten.
Also, as OP, and seeing you like Tokyo Ravens, I'm wondering: do you like Mami Kawada and her ED, as well as the 1st OP by Maon Kurosaki?
Still waiting for the BD
why are gen'ei threads always so dead?
We aren't that many people. Also there are many other shows people are watching so it's only natural a Genei threads are going to be overlooked
Doesn't anyone care anymore?
Maybe it's because there isn't much to talk about.
Will Luna ever win da Akari?
Isn't there a new OST coming out soon?
Part 2 of the soundtrack comes out with the 6th volume of the BD.
I'll probably rip that too if I can get the proper tagging.
The one afternoon I don't check my pins, a Gen'ei thread appears.
I'm obliged to get this in, even if it's late.
Pretty cute, it's honest.
Also reminded me that today was valentine's, I forgot to realize it was the day.
2nd OST where??
She killed Fuyuna though. She will have to live with that crime.
What will the OVA be about?
Haven't watched it yet, but I believe it cover the first couple chapters of the manga. That is, Akari and Fuyuna spending some time together and a bit about how Luna began with Sefiro Fiore.
When the 6th BD volume releases, which is the 25th.
Rips will be a bit later, so be patient.
It's basically an episode 0 so to speak.
How bad it sold?
Not even 1 frt.
What's a frt
The OP was pretty good.
Fart. In sales lingo, farts are what you call sales blocks of 988 sales. That's because when a show sells 4 farts, it generally turns out a profit. However, you don't want to fart too much or you might get some shit.
Vol. 1 garnered about a thousand sales combined. Though as it were that season, it still sold more than many.
Looking back at Genei I now want Luna×Fuyuna yuri.
>Here, valentine's chocolate for you!
>It's made with lots of love!
>smaller: But it's also made with lots of something different...
>Huh? If I said something?
>I didn't say anything, so please eat it quickly!
T-that sounds kinda scary.
Still not enough.
Reminder that doujins (even non-yuri ones) never because the series bombed.
Yikes. Oh Luna.
Has anyone made doujins for the series?
>>102129348 see: >>102115901 and >>102128939
Perhaps by some virtue, someone has made one for their own pleasure. As far as being concerned about, nope.
This show was unbelievably shitty. Can't believe I didn't drop it before I was halfway through.
That was me saying that actually. But are there unscanned doujins out there?
How can you not forget the anime that killed its studio, AIC?
Huh? Sauce? Gen'ei didn't bomb that hard anyway. Sure it was a flop, but it did better than SamFlam.
Did any of you guys watch that Zetsumetsu Kigu Shoujo Amazing Twins OVA?
It reminded me of Genei quite a bit, so I'm guessing it was something most of us would enjoy. I'm looking forward to the second part.
Sauce for that anon?
Do unscanned doujins for the series exist?
Just downloaded this character song CD earlier today. That fucking second track. Holy shit. It's just too cute.
I wish the show had more Ginka.
Sweet, hadn't realized this was out.
>Do unscanned doujins for the series exist?
There are none to any local knowledge.
Just finished this series and Ginka is best girl
I meant the one with the Ginka and Luna songs, if that wasn't apparent.
I recall reading some comment about how the tarot bit reminded someone of Gen'ei and went in with just a little bit of hope for some similarity. In the end I didn't feel any Gen'ei vibe. Didn't enjoy it nearly as much, either.
That break into a Sancho commercial.
All of them are pretty adorable and nicely made - save Seira's, which is really cool instead.
Hey, that's pretty decent. I'm pleasantly surprised.
That's a shame. Is that just how obscure this series is? I think even SamFlam has doujins.
Also, how active were threads when the show was airing?
>Also, how active were threads when the show was airing?
They were active, but with only a few people. I liked them a lot. Some of my favorite threads in ages.
There was of course the obvious shitposting early on, but it died down later on.
That's still pretty poor. VERY VERY POOR. Other shows that sell around 1000 - 1500 BDs sell 2000+ combined sales. Anything below 3k is almost always considered a flop.
Highest headcount was almost 20. About 10 regulars. I don't think it got more than a thread a week, usually.
Oh, I missed that part.
I would watch the OVA if it had subs.
Any rough time estimate on the subbed OVA release?
I would summon Daiz, but I'm not totally familiar with the ritual.
Now what happens to DAL season 2?
Also, is Gen'ei really the reason for their financial troubles?
>Is that just how obscure this series is?
>Also, how active were threads when the show was airing?
If any aspect of this is any indication
For that particular summer, I think it's fair to tack on an arbitrary thousand to each show's figure, if just to look at them next to other season sales. The majority of shows that season sold less than 1k on their release weeks.
You need only whisper his name. The rest is just embellishment.
"In the next few weeks or so" was what we got about three weeks ago. Probably not for a while yet.
Last thread he said it'd be within the coming weeks, so probably during March.
So Gen'ei was such a flop that AIC went bankrupt? Or was AIC already in financial trouble at the time?a
Okay, thanks guys.
All of their shows that got a sequel were farmed to other studios.
Oreimo 2 went to A-1 Pictures
Date a Live 2 went Production IMS
Maken-Ki S2 went to Xebec
At least two threads per episode, huh? I stand corrected.
So... Gen'ei is the reason for everything?
Is that good or not?
Better than I thought, but the idea that anyone could track all of the threads for an airing/recently aired show at all is pretty bad.
So AIC is in financial trouble because Gen'ei flopped? Wow.
Also, this must be the first Gen'ei thread since the anime ended to have more than 100 replies.
I would presume that underlying company management was pretty shit, worsening over recent years, and Aplix made a horrible mistake of a purchase at the wrong time. Whatever the hell goes on at AIC, they really didn't want to pay for it anymore.a
>Also, this must be the first Gen'ei thread since the anime ended to have more than 100 replies.
How strange. There isn't even any new material to discuss.
It was better that they weren't popular.
The more popular the show, the worse the threads are.
Up to a point. The Rozen Maiden Zurückspulen threads were often as quiet as the grave.
I doubt a semi-major flop (I mean, it wasn't C3-bu level) would be enough to bring down a stable company.
Genei might have just been the last straw on the camel's back.
There's the upcoming OVA subs and the new OST that will be out soon. Also, there hasn't been a thread in a long while. It's about time the old Gen'eibros reconnect.
Is anyone following the manga?
Is the manga even scanned?
And has anyone read the LN prequel?
Because Rozen Maiden isn't very popular nowadays. Even the manga has recently ended, and nobody seems to care about the LN.
This, basically. Series sell poorly (to extremely poorly) left and right, but it's not as though studios are paying down to the pocket to make them. Gen'ei wasn't particularly budgeted anyway, it took long enough to find a production for it as it is.
Yes, it has been. I haven't taken the time to read it though.
I haven't read the LN either. It would most likely be more interesting than the manga.
I've just had a look around, and I can't find much about the LN. I can't even find a place to buy it.
Yeah, it's quite sad.
We do have a scanner and translator for them, they usually drop an update or a new chapter release now and then.
That's pretty much what we have to look forward to aside from the BD extras.
LNs, we know some of what happens, but otherwise they are untranslated. Don't remember if anyone was ever planning on working on them either.
I think the LNs were featured on the website itself, I'm not keen on it myself.
>I think the LNs were featured on the website itself, I'm not keen on it myself.
Oh, that's unusual. Thanks.
Do you mean you're not keen on the actual LN, or the way it was published?
>That art style
God damn. I love it. A lot.
The publishing part.
Gomoku's art is pretty rad.
I think I got it now. Published under Newtype (hence the stamp), and the cover samples+feature arcticles were on the website beforehand.
Is that Hinata? If so, why does she look just like her daughter there?
Well, they -are- pretty much parallel. Hinata's just got that honking big rack.
I've just decided to buy the five issues of Newtype that the LN was published in. It was hard to find people that would ship to me, but it worked out in the end. IT WAS PRETTY EXPENSIVE.
The next time a thread like this comes around (when the OVA is out, probably), I'll scan all of the chapters and upload them.
I am trying to learning moon at the moment, but I won't be able to translate them. But somebody hopefully will be able to have a go.
The magazines will be good for me regardless, since I'm trying to learn, so it's a win-win.
I like her honking big hair.
She went from crab to lobster claw.
Aw fuck. You have enlightened my day. You have my thanks for this venture of yours.
Bless you, anon. Probably could have saved some money, though.
And it's apparently on the website as well, so I'm not really sure what I was thinking. That picture is just one chapter, right?
Oh well, I don't completely regret it.
A personal copy ain't so bad, and I've been wanting some nippon magazines or something similar for a while.
OP here. So we'll see each other in March then?
See you then Gen'eibros.
Could you link to the website's page where the novels are?
I've been to the site before, but I don't know where it is. I did try this fortune-telling game thing, which was kind of cool, and made me feel a bit sad that the show flopped. If only more shows could make their websites more interactive.
Hopefully March, maybe late February? Who's to say when the subs will be released.
Anyway, whenever it is. See you!
It doesn't seem like you can navigate that page, unless I missed something. But you can just change the number in the URL to get different chapters.
It's under Novel&Comic.
Now that I look at it, it looks like the last chapter isn't (yet?) up, so buying it was a good idea.
It doesn't seem like the fifth chapter is on the site.
Yeah, that was fun. I just did it again now for kicks.Got the Hermit (upright). Kind of appropriate.
One's own copy is always satisfying. Having the real thing is swell.
And I was just about to pitch in my own leave. Ah well, I'm going to succumb already whether I want to or not. It was a bit nostalgic staying up through the morning exclusively for a Gen'ei thread.
Have a good one folks, perhaps the thread will still be here later, or until he next thread.
Speaking of fortunes...
I wonder if that anon that did readings stuck around.
The illustrations aren't up there either, strangely.
I tried it once. Couldn't remember what I got, nor could I understand it. But it was fun. Which kind of made me sad that the series flopped.
Anyway, this is my last bump, as I'm off to sleep now. See you guys next thread?
How the heck did I miss this?
Damn, now it's official. Jinrui S2 fucking never.
