Has you ability to sit down and enjoy anime dwindled over time? When did it start to degrade? When was the last time you watched anything without forcing yourself at all?
>>
When the last Space Brothers episode came out.

I don't really force myself, but I somehow don't really feel like watching anything new that's coming out and prefer rewatching old stuff instead for some reason.

I'm behind on every show I picked up because I've been rewatching show after show.
>>
The last anime I really enjoyed was Psycho Pass. Now I feel like I'm forcing myself to watch some of these new anime coming out. I really hope something interesting comes out in the future, like another Steins;Gate or Madoka or something.

That's why I switched to manga.
>>
Tends to cycle. I'll get bored for a period and watch less but then the time away will get me interested again.

Non Non Biyori.

Jojo's Part 1 and 2. I literally could not stop, the hype was too great.
>>
Only feel that way if it's a currently airing show which I only picked up because it looked promising or had hype.

If you don't wanna keep watching, don't, it's okay to find a new hobby. Take it easy.

But I have a backlog to finish. All the time I've spent on /a/ and watching anime, I can't live with myself just abandoning all those shows.
>>
I began to prefer VNs and manga over anime because I like being able to control the pace of the story's narrative and my reading, instead of being held hostage in a chair for 20 minutes

If I'm bored by a scene, I can start skimming until an interesting part. It's hard to mess with the seekbar in anime until you just feel like dropping the whole thing and doing something else.
>>
I need to keep the number of shows I watch under around 12, or else everything piles up.
>>
It never gets easier.
>>
Once I started watching anime with /a/.
>>
I had to force myself to watch entry-level stuff, I felt like it would be retarded to not finish anime with a certain amount of collective sentimentalism yet at the same time I wasn't motivated on my own to watch them.

This is actually why I'm starting to play more VNs than watching anime. It actually gave me good motivation for learning japanese because while the subbing scene will last an eternity and you probably will never miss anything (as long as some horrible accident doesn't happen to Crunchyroll and fansubbing simultaneously), on the other hand there's such an extensive plethora of VNs that aren't translated and most likely never will be.

When I started browsing /a/, I began looking for reasons to dislike every show I watched so I could criticize others taste to feed my e-peen. That was when I began to hate anime.
>>
Yeah, but I think that's natural. You can only watch so much before, at the very least, the novelty factor stop being a reason for watching it.

D-frag, the only one in this season. 6th episode of gin no saji too, I wanted to know what happened to deadken. Next season I will probably watch without force myself, Jojo2 and Black bullet.

So, last season I forced to watch a few, this one I can watch D-frag effortlessly.

Avg. 1 anime per season.

but I get what you mean, Idk if could watch recent anime like I did back there, when I watched through 100+ episodes of yuyu hakusho or ultimate muscle in a few days.
>>
I had that happen slowly of the course of a few years and it actually led to about 2 years flat out not watching anime, then all of a sudden I got the itch last November and started up again. Been a lot better since then and I got a lot of a backlog of stuff now I actually want to watch.

I start the season watching 15 shows, and drop all but 3 or 4. I just end up not caring enough about what I'm watching to continue with the rest.
