There will never be a third season of Chihayafuru.

;_;
>>
The manga's still going.
>>
Of course there will be.
You just have to wait for the manga to progress far enough.
>>
>>102081831

Chihaya sell, and madhouse know that pretty well.
When enough chapters will be released we will see a third season; i mean the great tournament it's still being held in the manga.
>>
There will be a third series. Just probably not this year.
>>
>>102081831
There will be a third series... and it will have even less animated Haruta than the second one.
>>
Madhouse hates 3rd seasons
>>
>>102081955

From the look of it they need to finish this tournament to make a third series.
>>
>>102082008
Madhouse also used to hate 2nd seasons.
>>
The anime sells, the manga too and the anime is funded by the karuta association. So is just a matter of time for the 3rd season

Is the manga translated up to date or is it yet another manga I'm waiting for someone to translate alot of stuff for? It seems like a while since I last saw a new update.

I thought the anime sells like utter shit? It gets very good ratings though, and the manga sells like hotcakes. AFAIK that was the reason why Basedhouse got sponsored by a TV channel or something, because it promotes muh culture pretty well on and off the TV screen.
Nothing indicates that there won't a third season, there are no announcements or anything yet though because there's not enough material to adapt at this point.

Also I'd really love to play Karuta IRL, too bad the game most probably will never get popular outside of Japan.
>>
>>102088974
Last I saw, the DVD numbers were low, but it's selling the manga nicely.

And Chinese love Karuta. One of them was awarded just recently.
And yes, she owns the manga.
>>
>>102089246
Yeah the sales are low but tons of people watch the show and buy the manga. Buying the anime is expensive, even with the reduced price they made for Chihayafuru.

The bit about the Chinese Karuta player is pretty cool, I'd like to see the mango bring the game to the west.

Both seasons of Chihayafuru sold well enough for Josei series(3k Box Set S2 for example) but as has been said multiple times this series is "successful" through the increased exposure to Karuta and the increased manga sales/TV ratings
>>
Taichifags are pathetic. The guy is nothing but a coward who treats Chihaya like an object.
>>
>>102091970
I dislike him simply because he's been by her side for two years and made less progress than the autist on the other side of the country, I have nothing against him because of muh bully or some shit, but damn, he had all the time in the world to make a move and now its passing him by.
>>
>>102092277
Alas, there's no point in him "mak[ing] a move" because Chihaya is clearly not interested in him. She is probably not interested in anyone at all romantically, although her obsession with Arata could probably really easily turn to romance if she was in the same room as him for more than five minutes.
>>
>>102088974
Since the anime is funded by the government and NTV backs it up, what matters is the viewer rating and not the disc sales.
That's why other anime produced by NTV which had good tv ratings, Gatchaman Crowds, got a season 2 before the anime's disc release
>>
>>102092363
Taichi is suffering, but he had the time to help her grow to a point she might consider romance or get her to fall for him, even if its some underhanded engineering with misunderstandings, I'd like him more for that than sitting on his ass and crying all the time. Arata wins just for having the balls to try when he knows he might fail.
>>
>>102092586
Taichi knows Chihaya would rather focus on karuta and relationship drama would just be a distraction.
>>
Shit adaption. Biased as fuck staff cuts/shortens as many Arata scenes as they can. I bet the director will cry when he has to animate Arata confessing

>>
If LoGH gets a remake there is hope for all anime.
>>
>>102094258
That hope should take the form of a third season for Akagi and Kaiji, since Chihaya already is pretty much guaranteed for it.
>>
>>102094547
I want more Akagi so bad.
>>
>>102090573
It's also really fucking expensive to own a real kimono. It's basically the equivalent of western women's wedding dresses with costing thousands of dollars and woman only for special occasions. So only super old Japanese ladies still wear kimonos on a daily basis (like that one member of CLAMP who's always seen in a kimono)

People still wear yukatas during the summer at least.
>>
>>102092836
I'm surprised the anime staff is so biased too. But I guess that wouldn't be the first time, but it's just a shame that an adaptation gets skewed from the original author's work just cause a director loves a certain character more.
>>
>>102094863

>>
>>102095178

Just different uses.
>>
>>102095178
Yeah but you have to admit that Fukumoto mango become even better when animated.

>>
>>102095289
>Well, yukata is a kimono.

It's not though, they're two totally different piece of clothing. Kimono is formal wear, especially made of expensive/well made fabric. Yukatas were originally used to wear after a bath; basically a robe before being adopted to what they are today. It's like saying a t-shirt and a button down dress shirt are the "same."

>The name "yukata" comes from the word "Yu" (bath) and "Katabira" (under-clothing). Thousands of years ago, Court Nobles wore linen "Yukatabira" which were draped loosely after taking a bath. It gradually became worn by japanese warriors and then by the general public when the sophisticated japanese public bath became popular. Today, the traditional japanese yukata are widely used for everything from dances, casual wear in the summer, to simple night attire.

Ah yes, that crappy OP combined with that retard Good Deeds is what ruined s2 threads.
>>
>>102096204
They're really not related though. Sure, they're same similar types of clothing (robe type that wrap around your body so maybe yukatas were inspired by kimono) but kimonos were always meant to be daily to formal type wear in pre-Meiji Restoration and yukatas started off as only bath wear. They weren't supposed to be worn in public as a clothing substitute, but now they are.

Still, if you're talking about "kimonos" as a catch all, people will assume you're talking of the traditional formal wear. They won't assume you mean yukata too, cause yukata isn't a kimono.
>>
>>102096762

Yeah, they have a way different usage, but they are in the same "category".
They have also different accessories and all. It's true the higher kimonos are really expensives, but there's everyday kimonos as weall, cheaper.

It's still a shame there's less and less of them, and it's slowly fading, I just love these outfits.
I also like the footwear as well.

Well it's kinda complicated to wear a kimono too, even a woman's yukata. I'm gonna guess most people don't get the chance to properly learn how wear a kimono these days, it can take a long time to put one one as well (especially if you try to do it by yourself)

But yeah, it's a shame. At least Japanese fashion these days still has it's odd weirdness.

Enka is also still really popular which is as Japanese as it gets.

Japanese footwear is breddy gud. Especially the waraji which they pretty much used on all weather and terrain conditions despite its simplicity, samurai going to war had come up with specific ways to tie the sandals so as to limit mud sticking in and making it easier to get rid of the mud for example. I want to buy one if I ever get the chance.

Kill yourself, please.

Yeah, the basic kimonos can be done alone, but the better stuff need help. So it makes everything harder.
I don't like modern japanese fashion i mist say.

>>102097827
What is Enka ?

>>102097305
Yeah they're good indeed.
I'm a big fan of tabi socks I must say even better with sandals.

How much more Chihaya and Queen interaction has the manga had?
They seemed to have an actual start to a rivalry in the tournament where her hand was hurt.
>>
>>102098457
That's not bad at all.
Especially when I have a big aversion in general for japanese music.
>>
>>102098799
Not a whole lot so far, since Chihaya didn't take part in the Queen's qualifiers (she chose to go on her class trip instead - due to requirements based on her college career choices), and the story now is in the Queen/Meiji finals.
On the other hand, she's been interacting a great deal with Suo, the current Meiji

People disliked the s2 OP? Granted, it wasn't as good as S1's but I thought it was still nice.

Is he training her to beat Queen or trying to get in her pants? Or both.

REMINDER TAICHI IS THE BEST BOY

REMINDER THE MANGA HAS NOT YET DETERMINED WHO WINS CHIHAYA

REMINDER IT CAN GO EITHER WAY AND ANY OTHER INFORMATION IS SLANDER
>>
>>102082616
Of course they will. They were a bunch of Taichifags.
>>
>>102083400
Animeonlyfag detected. Read the manga.

Reminder that we don't care, we just don't want him to win. I mean, take away his suffering and he's nothing.
>>
So does this mean that Madhouse are Taichifags? They over emphasized the suffering he goes through.
