So lets talk about sub groups
You shouldn't start a discussion about sub groups with an example of Crunchyroll subs.
Horriblesubs is the best sub group.
Crunchyroll / Horriblesubs are the only ones with ACTUAL PROFESSIONALS doing translation
the autistic angry bitter NEETs of /a/ will flail and cry and whine about it but facts are facts
al you get with the other groups like commie, underwater, etc are epic may mays, hilarious trolls xD and general cancer.
It's horrible subs, nice try though
Now this is bait.
Just report and carry on, people.
So this is what I am suppose to get from her when she says this epic meme
Also it's hilarious how HS/CR have DEPRECATED other fansub groups
anyone with three braincells wil realize that people like Diaz are DESPERATE to stay relevant and will force and inject their own translations just to try and differenriate themselves from horriblesubs (who comes out 12 hours before them -- not to mention the fact that all sub groups now steal 90%+ of their translation directly from CR/HS)
it's seriously pathetic to hear the formally reverred reverant of encoding autism bitch abouty 'b-b-b-but it's not a proper noun', so transparently attempting to defend his entire existance now that he has been surplanted by a few bash scripts
These replace all inferior occupations
They replace assembly line third world workers
Now they replace fansubbing
Anime is dead. Long live GNU/Linux/Horriblesubs/Automation
Gonna need a bigger bait.
But it wasn't bait and you replied nonetheless, Just say what subgroups you like and why.
/g/ is full of retards but a broken clock is right twice a day.
Who knew that shell scripts would kill fansubbing?
Calling out a shitty bait isn't getting baited, even though it doesn't contribute anything to discussion either.
Commie because they understand what they are doing.
>because they understand what they are doing.
epic trolling /a/?
This isn't bait, I want to know what sub groups are reliable for example in the OP is this just troll subs? And if so I need to download a different set. More to the point I want general information about the various sub groups. But specifically if the subs in the OP are anywhere close to being on spot.
>turning everything possible into epic red dit memes
Yup they're totes mcgoats top tier translators ;^)
I feel that dubs are generally more entertaining than subs. They better express the message of what's being said.
But they don't. They turn shitty memes that the nips use into shitty memes that we use.
In the end it is still just shitty memes.
Yeah I'm going to watch both though. I have too much time on my hands, but dubs often suffer from awkward pacing and acting
you shouldnt even be here if you know those epik maymays from leddit.
>But they don't. They turn shitty memes that the nips use into shitty memes that we use.
Except they replace actual lines of dialog with epik mamays
I started preferring dubs after I downloaded a few duel audio vids and played them in english with the subs on. What is spoken is very different from what the subtitles say. Obviously, when a dub is done, more effort is put into the translation to make sure everything makes sense.
i would agree with this in certain situations, such as high speed or complex dialog like in ghost in the shell (certain parts) and tatami galaxy to give examples.
You forgot funimation for professionals. like that one line where "becky said something cold" or some shit, don't know where I have the screen cap though at the moment.
I just fucking hate Shinji's fucking american voice actor
A mate tried to show me this when we were drinking. I had no clue what fuck was going on.
It actually made sense though since a literal translation would be that of a japanese meme and thus wouldn't made any sense. I put X in you Y so you can X while you X or whatever may not be funny but regardless it makes sense in context.
You'll have to remember that Steins;Gate has things in common with otaku culture. Since she's a dirty anonymous on @channel, sometimes a meme slips through in speech.
Issue is that it's one of those moonlander memes that has no direct counterpart in English, so you have to decide whether to replace it with a similar English one or try to somehow explain it. At least for S;G, it's not a trollsub and more of a judgment call.
the first two minutes or so are among the fastest subs ive ever read. However the "intro" does seem to shorten with each episode and you catch more and more each time.
A good understanding of that series requires much more than a simple half minded watching and probably atleast two viewings.
The worst part about that is that she wasn't actually talking about something being cold.
It's quite unbelievable just how bad Funi subs are, and it's not even just Nourin this season. How is it possible to mistranslate 中学生 as "high-schooler?" Aren't they supposed to get the proper scripts?
Yeah he said as much. I really should attempt to rewatch it some time or other.
Oh good, It kinda felt like I might have been subtly trolled by the uploader of the torrent
damn moot for not allowing people to delete their OP
so which are legitimate troll subs?
>Crunchyroll / Horriblesubs are the only ones with ACTUAL PROFESSIONALS doing translation
depends on your definition of "professional".
they're getting paid for it, so I guess that's professional.
>still using subs
I like watching my favorite series in different sub groups- the good ones translate phrases more naturally in to english which obviously requires a litle alteration, and the not so good ones end up being more literal which can really help clear things up in some cases.
I just use HS for most things though. They're good enough so who cares.
Commie and gg a shit.
