Out of ALL the possible mangaka in Japan, they chose her?! Really?!
Is the manga of Inuyasha as slow and uninteresting as the anime was?
Of course one of the great manga artists of all time would be nominated.
She did do other things, things that was actually good. Like Maison Ikkoku, Urusei Yatsura, One Pound Gospel, and Mermaid Saga. For better or for worse, Urusei Yatsura had a major impact in japan.
Of course not. It's slower.
>>>> mkay k?
There are definitely better candidates for it, but I'm fine about her being nominated.
>thinking Inuyasha is her only manga
Out with youu
But...none of their series were ever finished. They just kind of stopped.
And? She's like...one of the richest and most respected fucking mangaka in all of japan. Hell, most of you nerds squeal how much you hate inuyasha at the top of your lungs but can name every single bit of minutae that happens in the animu and manga as if you remember it completely.
Ranma 1/2 alone qualified her for it. Don't hate just because the rest of her series all managed to suck.
Manga actually has up skirt shoots and rape.
>JK Rowling of manga
>not being nominated
>not Urusei Yatsura
Baka gaijin, commit sudoku.
She totally deserves it. I hope that a few more artists get entered as well. Manga is long over due for recognition in the west.
Plebs who disagree know absolutely nothing about manga.
Isn't she really, really mean? Not in a "wah she once said ___" way, I mean actually a huge bitch to her fans and everyone around her?
Like how she once bribed some fans into buying her lunch, then walked out without signing anything for them.
You sure are mad OP. I am enjoying your delicious tears.
Final act cleared the issue of being slow by cutting out all the side stories and focus on the important parts.
My favorite thins from Takahashi were all her one-shots and short stories. When she got to focus on a simple story was where she was at her best.
Her series did tend to drag and get repetitive.
