Did the waifu thing start as a joke that transformed in to a sort of serious culture or was it serious abd got mixed up later? How many of you actually have waifus in the serious, dedicated way and how many are just goofing around or doing it ironically?
The waifu thing started out serious but now has become nothing but a joke to 95% of /a/
It started as a joke, became serious, and is now a joke again.
What do Nagi's toes taste like?
What does your dick taste like?
Hopes and dreams
I hope nobody takes it seriously.
Here we go...
If you just take the microcosm of /a/ I'd say it started off as a self-depreciating joke for mere fun. The kind of joke you do, which hides a slight part of truth before slowly expanding because of the visibility the joke gave it.
>not having a real life girlfriend
You guys seriously cant be this pathetic
What do hopes and dreams taste like?
And then there's THIS guy.
Bags of sand
I don't know because I've never reached any of them to taste them.
I'm not a lesbian. I mean it's ok if I have a waifu, because that's just pretend, even if I do occasionally have dreams about us cuddling and fingering each other, but having an actual girlfriend?
u avin' a giggle m8?
Naturally. I'm not actually in denial about my sexuality.
The phenomenon existed even before we had a name for it. People who claim that "it was a joke" don't understand that part of it. Giving it a name did not make people get waifus, it just gave all of the people who already had one something to rally around.
Of course, nowadays, most people DO use it as a joke, which is a shame.
Is it really wrong to make it a self aware joke about crushing on a fictional character?
i want those feet
But can you have them?
>is it wrong to be a memespouting idiot
>is it wrong to cry when your memes get taken away, long past their expiration date
yes, in my dreams
It is a westernization of a a concept that actually exists among Japanese otaku.
Some people think its a joke. Some people take it seriously. Just like some people take religion seriously and others see it as a joke.
The only certain joke or meme you can take from it is the use of the word "waifu" itself.
It's absolutely serious. I choose a waifu from every show that I watch, and I love them all.
Isn't having multiple waifus breaking the rules?
Take a break from getting off to animus for a week and you'll snap right out of that
Maturbating to this thread
Are you implying anyone here disagrees that 2D > 3D?
Speaking from experience?
