Agreed. It isn't all his fault, but he fucked things up.

It was that easy.

Why do you keep posting images that are blown up to the point of blurriness? Why can't you just accept that Texhnolyze will never ever get Lain-tier BD treatment? ;_;
As for the question, who knows. Kano rambles about having intercourse with Lux but I'm not so sure that Ran 'is' the city as opposed to being the Voice or the Obelisk as Onishi learns.

That's a future, not the future.

But even so, I hope BDs happen some day in some far flung future where the show actually gets some recognition or greater exposure. Especially when there are a few visual glitches like this, for instance. How did this even happen?

I don't understand how this isn't popular. The first episode wasn't that good, but from there on out it just kept getting better. Hell, they even managed to tie it up decently. I was expecting some bullshit "congratulations" episode.
>>
>>102043339
The lack of dialogue in the first few episodes probably turned most people off.
>>
>>102043434
Yeah, this and Lain were both trying to be very big about "show not tell". Texhnolyze had far more characters and relationships so it didn't feel as sterile.
>>

>I don't understand how this isn't popular.
There are a few reasons I think. For one I don't think this show was released at the right time to get a strong cult/niche following like lain did, nor did it have a more immediately accessible emotional dimension like Haibane Renmei.

There's also what >>102043434 said since it holds true for viewers even today, and there are the constant complaints of pacing and whatnot—even though I still believe that this is one of the few shows where the narrative and thematic drive is constantly moving forward, and every episode there's something progressing.

And I guess there's the whole deal with episodes 19 and 20 being omitted from the broadcast for reasons unknown, and I've also heard rumors that the ratings for Texhnolyze were so poor that they cut it down from 26 episodes to 22 which is a shame. Certainly could've used a bit more clarifications on the Class and whatnot.

He wasn't even for anything.

Leaving because of the lack of dialogue I can understand. Not everyone follows the three episode rule. However, the pacing was fine.
>even though I still believe that this is one of the few shows where the narrative and thematic drive is constantly moving forward, and every episode there's something progressing.
Absolutely right. No beach episode, "LAST TIME ON", or mock fights where two people flex and yell at each other for entire episodes with little to no animation. I'm looking at you Dragon Ball Z.
>And I guess there's the whole deal with episodes 19 and 20 being omitted from the broadcast for reasons unknown,
Weird.
>Certainly could've used a bit more clarifications on the Class and whatnot.
Yeah, that would have been nice.

>>102044149
If he had managed to get the Class involved it would have fucked with Kano's plans.

That sounds confusing as fuck.

It certainly explains why there's the narration in the beginning of episode 21.

I still can't believe that those two episodes weren't broadcasted. They're absolutely brilliant.
>>
>>102043837
Yeah, I agree with the timing point. People's feelings towards technology oscillate between optimism and pessimism, each wave lasting about 1-2 generations. Shows dealing with cyberpunk themes don't do too well unless they catch the wave of uncertainty and unease that comes in a pessimistic wave. Lain had that in the late 90's.
>>
This show deserves more, I wish people weren't so fuckin impatient otherwise I might fit in a little more. (then again this world would be extremely fucked if they were like us few, this show probably really would happen to earth)

It is kinda sad that there seem to be pretty few Texhnolyze fans in general. I wonder if it's any better in Japan -- though I get the feeling that it's not.
>>
I have trouble following the story of this anime. What was he trying to do exactly?

I know, I feel dumb enough as is.
>>
>>102051387
Short answer: he was trying to get them to live.
He saw that they were going the way of the surface people so he tried to shake things up and encourage a new order.
