Why isn't vinland Saga 101 still not translated ?
> So I am hereby calling a temporary hiatus on everything I translate that's not called Tomorrow's Joe until it's finished.
Holy shit, I swear, Hox is a good man but most readers of his translations are bloody retarded.
>finally getting off farm saga
>translator focus on tomorrow's joe instead
>Beserk boat saga
>Vinland farm saga
>Vagabond farm saga
It's a fucking conspiracy.
I don't know much abput scanning, how long odes it take for say a vinland saga chapter once you have the RAW ?
Brb checking mangahelpers for this
depends on the quality of the scans, how many people are working on it, and the quality of the release (translation, editing, redrawing, etc).
Anything from a few hours to a few days.
Hox has some pretty sketchy taste.
Now that post is just silly.
Well now Vinland Saga is going into a boat saga.
I'd say he'd probably made a good call. Better to finish a finished series people love than an unfinished series people tend to complain about.
hox is occupied with derailing kingdom threads by talking about about medieval weaponry.
Not really it's true. His 'criteria' for good series is usually contradictory and really nit picky.
Basically he favors
>Characters with downs
>Really simplistic drawings
And he doesn't even answer all the questions that's brought up about them.
Eh, it's not like it was in the middle of anything. I'll read Ashita no Joe when he's done.
You mean those are the ones he actually bothers translating and enjoys translating.
It's also 99% of the stuff he even bothers discussing.
When's the last time you've seen the guy express interest in a mainstream anime?
No one cares about mainstream anime here. You know that.
Define mainstream. I was briefly talking about Monster with him not that long ago. Are you trying to convince me that Ashita no Joe isn't massively mainstream?
As a mangafag myself, I hardly even watch anime.
He discusses the manga he scanlates and they're all mainstream.
>Ashita no Joe
What do you know, it's covered.
You guys should have simply agreed with >>102026228 then you wouldn't look as stupid
Get off /a/, go outside where sunlight can hit your face, and ask people around if they know what Tomorrow's Joe is.
The question was regarding mainstream anime. Stop backpedalling.
Right, and what of Japan?
If by sketchy you mean good, then yeah.
>Get off /a/, go outside where sunlight can hit your face, and ask people around if they know what anime is.
You know Japan doesn't count as mainstream.
You do realize that your argumentation is bullshit, right? Ashita no Joe is mainstream as hell. Go out in Japan ask anyone about Joe and you will get an answer.
Seriously, whats with this mainstream-nonmaninstream faggotry? Do you even know what that means? Look, JoJo, Dragon Ball, Devilman, One Piece, Tetsuwan Atom are mainstream. But so is Kingdom, Terra ForMars, Ookiku Furikabutte, Akira, Giant Killing, Gurazeni and Kangoku Gakuen. Vinland Saga, Kiseijuu, Historie, Vagabond, I am a Hero, Berserk and Otoyomegatari are also mainstream.
If you want example of an alternative then Ikki magazine is close to that. It's focused on very niche market, yet it still relies on some mainstream titles so it's not completely "non-mainstream".
Mainstream does not mean "shallow" and something which isn't mainstream isnt automatically "deep".
Also, if you are talking about manga and its popularity, you really should pay most attention to how is that title doing on its home ground.
