Why aren't you watching Hoozuki no Reitetsu /a/?
I am. It's pretty great.
It's the daily life of working in Japanese Hell
Not enough cute girls in it.
I'm not a corporate worker in his 30's to relate to this.
Relate to Satan then
dropped after first half of first episode. I did not understand his japanese jokes
You don't know about the softbank commercials? They have gaijin and everything.
Second episode had less Japanese jokes
I like it but as said, too japanese. Probably a truckload of jokes going over my head.
it's the most japanese show I think ive watched, and I've seen SZS
exactly my thought
Was the first thing, that came to my mind. And I can't get it out of my head now.
Truly hell knowns no mercy
I dunno, I found Joshiraku to have a much harsher "you must be this Japanese to get these jokes" requirement.
Still watching and enjoying it.
I'm ready for Peach Maki and that fucking cat.
It's pretty shitty. Will probably drop. I'd keep watching it if I were into little boys.
I actually worked in a bureaucracy so it's not so funny, and my Japanese folklore powerlevel is too low.
lets talk about the best character and why its shiro
Reference anime isn't funny.
I enjoy it, pretty funny, relaxing to watch too.
Because it's a cute dog
That's not Miss Mustard.
I'm loving it even though I don't get half of the jokes.
Atmosphere is everything.
>Atmosphere is everything.
So true. Though the second half of the episode wasn't as good as usual, Beelzebub was... well, I don't know, I didn't really like his character.
For me it's like when you're on public transport and overhear someone talking about something and listen in. It's great for when you're a little drowsy.
Do I look like a faggot to you? Of course I am watching it.
huh, good in episode english
The maids were damn cute so was the idol
im proud to get most of the jokes in this, my japanese folklore game pretty strong
I want the cuties in the OP. You know the goth loli and the other girl. To appear.
I really should make more screenshots later
its a whole paragraph and it's readable, that's a A- in my book
Well okay I give you that
It could be so much worse after all.
Come on this is actual entertaining
FFF dropped this for good, did they?
>mfw Beelzebub was voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi
>aka Tatsumi from Beelzebub
Isn't that meant to be a reference to Das Leben Der Anderen?
How so? I don't really remember it except from the overall plot.
The bit where he's wondering if anyone who listens to that piece of music can truly be evil. I can't remember if he writes that in his journal or says it to his wife, but it still reminds me of it.
Most of the jokes do not rely on folkloric knowledge though.
Also this is comedy AOTY.
It's obvious why it isn't very popular here. To summarize:
>You must be this Japanese to understand
Because it was boring as shit
Who the HELL are you supposed to be?
But it's really not. A rudimentary knowledge of Buddhist mythology and Japanese folklore will make people understand most of the jokes.
Saying that the average /a/non thinks that it requires being Japanese to understand would be more accurate.
>A rudimentary knowledge of Buddhist mythology and Japanese folklore will make people understand most of the jokes.
You have a high opinion of the average /a/er if you think they have a rudimentary knowledge of Buddhism and Japanese folklore.
Oh, that. But isn't the "someone who do X can't truly be evil" fairly common in many media? I feel like I've heard it a lot of times but can't say where.
What I'm saying is that it's easy to get those. But yeah, I know that despite watching shows made by a different people and culture then theirs, the average /a/non makes absolutely no effort to learn some of that culture.
Man /a/non is such a stupid name like jesus christ.
How new are you?
Too true. I look forward to this every week
Joshiraku all over again
>does this look like a motherfucking game?
Seriously, even if someone doesn't understand the jokes, just seeing Hoozuki's faces and Shiro makes the show good.
Ah, so this is THIS episode, how sad.
Well, going from that to being an award-wining author, I've seen worse.
Yeah, you're right.
Only two are translated.
Too Japanese for me, will pick it up when it's finished airing.
Doesn't it have okay sales too?
Today's episode was hilarious.
I was eager to drop this hard at the beginning of the season because of the unusual setting and absence of cute girls but I found myself surprisingly entertained. Although most of the references are hard to get the humour works for me. Not a masterpiece but one of the better shows I didn't expect this season.
