The mods have abandoned /a/.

We all know it to be true. Oh sure, he shows up and stickies a thread now and then, but he's gone almost all day every day. Same with the janitors. They delete the minimum number of threads so that moot doesn't annoy them, but besides that they're probably the ones doing most of the shitposting. No one cares anymore. No one

>>
>>102001560
How do you actually get to that ban listing page?
>>
>>102001560
They finally gave up /a/non. After all this time of fighting, we lost. The mods stopped giving a fuck, so we're now just another /v/.
>>
I'll tell you the truth about this board.

THERE WERE NEVER ANY....

MODS OR JANITORS TO BEGIN WITH!!!!
>>
>>102001633

I still believe in Kinomod.
>>
>>102001595
Mods choose what to show off.
>>
>>102001633
They are mods, they just don't care enough to maintain /a/.
>>
At least /a/ doesn't have a janitor like /jp/ does.

/jp/'s current meido is always vigilant of any sort of criticism against him. If you complain about him purging threads of random comments for no reason, or leaving up NSFW threads while deleting board relevant threads completely, or if you criticize his excessive janitorial zeal or refer to him as the "janitard" he will waste no time in blocking you and having you banned.

Mods and jannies have forsaken us
>>
>>102001721
At least he actually deletes things.
Some times I feel like we need a nazimod to deal with the circlejerking/shitposting/off topic posts.
Maybe another generalcaust would be nice.
>>
It's really easy to get banned on /a/. The problem is that the mods rarely make public bans. There's really no point in banning because changing your ip is so easy, but public bans at least serve as an example for other people.
The other problem is that there are no board specific mods. /a/ is often moderated by people who haven't lurked enough.
>>
>>102001820
Then you can't have a different opinion like /a/ always has. Get on the wrong side of a nazimod and you will get banned so fast.

It wouldn't even be that hard to moderate without pissing everyone off. They just have to delete all the rec threads that come up, and ban those users along with the ones spoonfeeding. Like the mods on /s/, and /h/ do.
>>
>>102001864
We already have one, they just only watchdog the waifu and drawthreads. I've gotten banned multiple times for "off topic" for complaining that the waifu threads are off topic blogshit.
>>
>>102001820
>At least he actually deletes things.

Not the right things.

Anyway I'm sure he'll break before long, the more he acts like a fucking Nazi the more /jp/ will bitch about him. Eventually it will be too much of a hassle blocking and requesting bans for people, then he'll either stop acting like such a wuss and sperging out over criticism, or he'll quit.
>>
>>102001488
/a/ is one of the strictest boards on 4chan. If anything this applies way more to /v/ than /a/.
>>

>>
>>102001820
"Circlejerking" only means people who are having fun without you. "Shitposting" only means posts you don't like. And the ocassional discussion only tangentially related to the board's topic is what makes /a/ different than the typical overly moderated anime forum, and despite being against moot's rules, it doesn't really hurt the board.

The only problem /a/ has right now is the huge amount of people ruining everything by complaining nonstop about the posts and threads they don't like and think the board was made just for themselves, and also all the rec threads that pop up every day (And the people who fall for them).

I've got a great idea!
Kick everyone who doesn't like Hidamari Sketch off the board. That will fix all of the shitposting.
>>
>>102002192
Except that the mods ignore you when you ask them through the correct. /feedback/ hasn't been updated since October. mods@4chan.org is dead silent. The only time I've gotten a reply from emailing moot, he totally ignored my actual question and told me to email mods instead, who didn't respond at all.
I'm not even trying to harass them or complain, I just want to get clarification on rules.

Why do they even bother moderating that place? Why not work at saving us from their fate?

Moderating /sp/ instead of /a/ is like throwing water on a blazing inferno instead of trying to put out the small fire in the kitchen next door. Soon both houses will be on fire

/a/ can self moderate pretty well, though, when the janitors and mods leave /tv/ for a few hours the board gets quite out of hand.

Also, less moderation is still better, /tv/ isn't allowed waifu, or actress thread anymore when it used to be the heart and soul of the board years back.

Spamming is not self-moderation. Spamming ends with legitimate threads being spammed as well as bad ones

Self-moderation means you don't reply to stupid shitty threads. What do you fuck tards do instead? You turn them into 500 post 5 hour long threads because you just HAD TO RESPOND
>>

/a/ is so fucking bad right now. You know what?
First, we get a hiragana captcha. Quality of /a/ improves drastically ...for a few weeks, when we notice that a lot of the shitposters enjoy shitting up /a/ enough to learn hiragana. So we try a katakana captcha instead, and same thing happens, works at first, but doesn't take long before everyone can bypass it. So we decide that the kana are a little too easy to learn, and decide to move on to kanji, using grade 1 jouyou kanji, which most veterans should know by now, but should be enough to scare away anyone unwanted. Things look brighter, but with time, it's undeniable that /a/ is starting to return to how it was. Let's move up to grade 2, that should be harder! Same thing happens. Grade 3, same thing. Grade 4, 5 and 6, same thing. High school jouyou! A golden age of a few months, and then the same. Well, fuck kanji, let's do some vocabulary. Same thing. Advanced vocabulary! Advanced grammar! 2ch slang! Osakaben! Yakuza slang! The way samurai addressed their daimyo in the Sengoku era!

And about 2 years after the hiragana captcha was introduced, most /a/ers know more Japanese than Japanese people themselves.
