Amnesiac and shapeshifter.
So is this. Both series need a remake as both Escaflowne and Lost Universe had major issues in an otherwise great concept. Lost Universe was incomplete and had a fire during production that killed its animation quality. And Escaflowne....well, it just went completely bonkers in its story in the last quarter of the show. Like a Final Fantasy game. Not to mention the movie.
Has there been a better gender bender character than Dilandau ever since?
No, just no. It would be full of moeblobs and CGI
It had a few issues here an there but its great as it is. The movie sucked tho.

>every show that comes out today has moe and CGI
You're the idiot. Stop only watching the anime that's popular on /a/ and falling into the internet stereotypes of 'what anime is'.
To his credit, every anime has moe.
Of course, moe is not something bad.
It just means that you develop some special feelings for a character.
Well, you're right. By that reasoning, the original Escaflowne had moe as well with Merle. And 'tried' to make Hitomi moe as well, though it was hard to have any attraction to that horrible bob cut and her constant indecisive whining.

>even tiny japanese car is too big for you
They could have made an entire movie just with that song.
In fact...why didn't they just make the Escaflowne based on that song. Instead of what they actually did....fuck.

There is a song I think of when I see Escaflowne but It's not what you'd think.

Don't see a problem there.
Judeau is a jock.
most mecha stuff gets a lots of cgi lately
If you know so much about anime then point me something made in the last 2 or 3 years without cgi mechas.
exactly what ruined Hitomi for me, always liked Millerna better.
So just like the original.
So just like the movie.
But's she's a real loli in Prisma Illya.
Gundam Build Fighters
>Imp-lying they re-did her body type for Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya
Well you won that.
>The movie sucked tho.
Only good point about it was the OST
There's CG in both of those.
They just hide it better nowadays.
>They just hide it better nowadays.
...then basically your complaining that it has CG at all? Protip: All anime is using computers in every scene now adays. For coloring, animation and checking. There isn't a single scene of anime being produced since 2001 that doesn't use computers in some form.
Even if the mecha in an Escaflowne where completely hand drawn for their outline work, they'd still use computers for the coloring, checking and final animation. Or are you under some illusion that they'd actually go back and use cels again?
>...then basically your complaining that it has CG at all?
I don't care. It's the other guy that does.
You'd better believe it, there was a guy in my highschool who was a Jolly Red Giant at the tender age of 14. He could blend in with the graduating class without a problem.
I grew to be my full height and body size in Junior High. And so did my dad. Some people just grow early on.
