all that build up with that absolute zero bs and....Rukia has to be saved again.
Well duh, she's a woman. Has any female character taken down a non-low tier bad guy by themselves yet?
Rukia is useless.
Garbage tier character.
So... did Byakuya job for himself?
>pandering to fujoshits
I hope it's fucking worth it kubo
This has lost all semblance of being interesting or creative.
Much like the manga.
I feel the same, but it's not as if this is salvageable either. It could still be Rukia having to save Byakuya in the end to show a role reversal of sorts or perhaps someone else will show up and it'll be a two on two or Rukia gets a new opponent. There are still quite a few Sternritter left.
Ever since she was saved by Ichigo, every moment she has of screen time has been horrible.
Easily the worst girl. I liked her back before she was put in that tower, but holy shit has her character gotten shit.
Still waiting for anime, but damn heard some shit is going on now in manga
Could anyone atleast explain me what medic chick bankai does?
This fight is laughable. It's unfolds like a delusion fight between school kids, where they come up with ridiculous powers and nitpicky loopholes to one-up the other kid.
"Haha! I just froze you to absolute zero degrees kelvin. My power is so awesome, it can only be used for 4 seconds, or it kills me as well! How's that!?"
"What? Nu-uh. I can't die, because my power is fear and the only thing I fear is my captain. So I can't be afraid of your attack, let alone be killed by it! What now fucker!"
"Fuck you! My invincible big brother show up and he can beat your stupid power!"
No, because it did nothing. She used it and then Kenpachi killed her (inb4 it revives her if she dies).
She should've just been executed. She was such a great character before LOL IM A DAMSEL IN DISTRESS NOW I AM RESIGNED TO MY FATE
>It could still be Rukia having to save Byakuya in the end to show a role reversal of sorts
Yeah, sure. That's totally going to happen, just like it did when he saved her from Zomari Loreaux back in Mexico, who had a very similar power.
>When one of my eyes looks at you, I control your nerves!
>But I have a sword that fragments into a million pieces.
Also, Byakuya already lost to this shithead, so he's obviously going to win this time. It's how Kubo writes.
Perfectly sums it up
Buyuuka will struggle. Rukia will inner monologued and come out with bankai.
after 5 week hiatus nothing really happened
I think the image is complete now
Sad thing is, I don't really feel the thrill for the unveiling of a new power as I used to earlier in the series. There's such a fuckton of characters by now, and for each we have to sit through the "grand reveal" and longwinded explanations of their Shikai, Bankai, a variation thereof, Vaizard power, Fullbring power, and so on. I just can't give a fuck anymore about whether Jobber Renji, Byakuya, Chad or someone of the current villain reveal a new power.
The fights themselves are nothing to write home about either. It's either a flash step behind the enemy, who'll look surprised, or the alternate between secret one-shot power reveals until one of them runs out of now stuff. They don't even use it for tactical advantage. Just "here's my new power, now die in awe!".
Its pointless for them to have weapon at all at this rate. Its not like they use it anyway.
>"here's my new power, now die in awe!".
Don't forget the part where it didn't even work.
Nah man. Bromamura's fight was pretty awesome.
>My opponent has the power to make reishi explode
>I will turn my bankai into a giant mass of Reishi! This is the best plan ever!
But that's wrong. He forced his bankai to shed it's armor and so it's life. It was pretty much undefeatable for that short time.
A wooden chair also has no life, yet it can be destroyed pretty easily. Kubo shouldn't try to use abstract concepts as fighting powers. He sucks at it.
Regardless, it was a pretty glorious way for him to go out.
It was one of the better fights. It was dragged down a bit by Grandpa Yiff being all smug about Komamura giving up his humanity.
Kubo almost got hung in a public square for trying to kill him. Giving him the chance of revenge sure is worth it to appease the fujo fanbase he insulted.
Why are the Quincy all so much cooler than the shinigami?
i think about 1/3 of the entries have to be removed. then wait until kubo lets real shit happen again.
Because they're clearly nazis. And nazis had fucking awesome uniforms.
He made her a damsel in distress again after one chapter.
>Kubo almost got hung in a public square for trying to kill him.
Kubo is too much of a shitty writer to leave his comfort zone. Of course he's gong to pander to the fujoshi, since they buy his manga in drones, for long as characters like Hitsugaya, Emospada and Byakuya are around.
It's for this reason characters like Ishida and Ichigo had their character designed changed to appeal more to the same crowd.
This is probably my biggest problem with this chapter, which is sad because the last few I were comparatively happy with. We've already seen this in Hueco Mundo against Zommari (or something like it) but even worse because it robs Rukia of her debut victory for unneeded Byakuya screentime, as well as drawing out the fight even longer.
It all depends on how next chapter concludes the fight; if a Rukai/Byakuya combined force kills Nodt then I could live with it, if suddenly Byakuya can wipe the floor against Nodt then this arc would be reaching an all-time low, in my opinion.
>It all depends on how next chapter concludes the fight; if a Rukai/Byakuya combined force kills Nodt then I could live with it
All signs point to this not happening, since as Nodt's nerve-fucking power has already kicked in on Rukia. You can bet your ass we're going to get the typical 'human-shield' scene and possibly Rukia struggling not to attack her precious oniisama before Byakuya rips As Nodt a couple of new assholes.
>You can bet your ass we're going to get the typical 'human-shield' scene and possibly Rukia struggling not to attack her precious oniisama
So you're predicting an exact repeat of the Zommari fight? I really hope not.
>before Byakuya rips As Nodt a couple of new assholes.
There aren't enough asspulls in existence to give Byakuya of all people an immunity to Nodt's power. At least not until next week.
You win this time Kubo.
Byakuya's view on death has changed, he does not fear it anymore!
For him it became a necessary part of live and he views it as the ultimate form of peace which he is going to grand As Nodt.
Animals that are close too death fight even fiercer.
I can't see how either of those could actually trump As Nodt's ability as it's defined, and it would basically make Rukia's entire ability a waste of panel time.
You guys have no fucking imagination or any semblance of predictive prowess whatsoever.
It's pretty obvious what's actually going to happen. Having her brother show up is going to erase her fears. He will boost her morale with a quick speech and she'll use Bankai and win. He's not going to actually physically bail her out.
>He's not going to actually physically bail her out
He just fucking did when he smashed horrorland with his fucking petals.
>Having her brother show up is going to erase her fears
But that's not how As Nodt's powers work? So far the only way to get around it is cell death, and SnS won't work now since he can still use her nervous system. If a simple morale boost would do the trick this would be a much simpler fight, but at this point it would still be a disappointment compared to what Kubo had set up previously.
That's just for a dramatic entrance. As Nodt still has a shitload of those eyes flying around and I'm sure defeating his power is not as simple as just cutting a few of them down. Watch, he's going to make a speech, acting all cool and shit, and then Rukia is going to get all inspired and go "nii-sama!" and then whip out her Bankai.
Hope is the true superpower.
It's not so bad as long as Rukia plays a major role. As Nodt was never her proper enemy to begin with.
This I'd be fine with; if Byakuya can draw Nodt away from Rukia long enough for her to deliver a finishing blow, I'd call that a satisfying fight. It also opens up development potential as Byakuya would have greater respect for Rukia as a warrior.
Don't you mean... love?
Don't you mean... the heart
The hard part is how to consider this guy at any tier except "Doesn't lose to girls."
Rukia and Byakuya should just fuck already. She looks just like his wife and they're not really brother and sister. Plus she obviously lusts for him.
>Watch, he's going to make a speech, acting all cool and shit, and then Rukia is going to get all inspired and go "nii-sama!" and then whip out her Bankai.
Cool fanfic, niichan.
Rukia won't get to do shit, but be a hostage, if only so Byakuya can look good when he gets his win back and protect what's most precious to him.
Your scenario would have been possible if Byakuya ran into As Nodt first and Rukia showed up and made the save.
Now that Rukia's showed her technique and admitted what the flaw is, on top of noting that using said technique recklessly could damage her body, we're either going to see her use Abolute Zero recklessly to save Byakuya or Byakuya is going reveal some new asspull power and win easily and scold Rukia JUST as she's going to attempt save him, just to drive home the over-protective older sibling/useless young sibling dynamic they have going on.
Yes, because in Bleach, character shit Bankais whenever they fell aroused right?
Nope, Bankai requires decades of dedicated training for that end, even Renji, who was at Bankai training for a while when Ichigo started his own "Bankai" training, only came up with an incomplete one.
So it has been established that releasing a Bankai isn't something someone can do on a whim, because of a sudden morale boost or something.
So Rukia, who never hinted at having come close to master her Bankai, and is a very calculating fighter, wouldn't go for that all-or-nothing absolute zero strategy instead of releasing her Bankai if she had it available.
Its odd that Rukia fans wouldn't be disappointed that the character who always does the pep talking would need pep talking from her brother to release her Bankai, she is supposed to be smart, doesn't she?
Thats not how Byakuya acts at all, and if Kubo ever did anything right, it was keeping his characters consistent, Byakuya is proud, arrogant, and extremely protective to Rukia, he wouldn't use someone's help to fight an enemy, much less his sister.
And if Rukia remains consistent as well, if Byakuya says "get away", she gets away, immediately.
we dont even know what her shikai really does.
during the whole fight she was literally killing kenpachi and reviving him that fast with just her reiastsu
That's why it's called character "development", anon: it means that as a function of developments in the story pertaining to said character, he or she changes in some way, usually to show growth or maturity.
When's our lord and savior returning? What is his bankai? Why is Stand Ablaze his theme? I hope the Soul King doesn't off him :(
When she used it, it rained blood all around the place, and both her's and Kenpachi's flesh seemed to dissolve, reducing them to skeletons, but it seemed to be an illusion of sorts, and shortly after it, Kenpachi killed her with a random swing.
My guess is, that maybe her Bankai increases the lethality of any inflicted wounds in the area, meaning that either she or her opponent could die instantly from a single attack.
What you call "development" in this case I'll call "convenient way for me to get the result I desire", because Rukia being respectful to her brother's pride, and he caring deeply about her aren't necessarily flaws that need to be addressed, you just want an excuse for Rukia to shove her brother away and claim that fight as hers , or double team an enemy alongside him, hurting his pride, so that she can get one more number to her kill count, which, while pretty small, doesn't matter much, I mean, lets say Urahara was my favorite character, and how many enemies he killed by himself again?
seeing younger Masaki Kurosaki's tits is all I really care about.
why is Rukia so cute?
Byakuya being able to respect Rukia as a warrior has nothing to do with who deals the final blow on As Nodt; I really don't care who does and as long as it isn't another miraculous blowout by Byakuya it would be worth reading. Simply maintaining the status quo with Byakuya saving Rukia would basically be backpedaling on Kubo's part to Hueco Mundo; whereas Rukia and Byakuya fighting as equals would actually be interesting and thus, they both develop, albeit slightly.
would make love to
Guys. Guys. What if. What if, that really isn't Byakuya, but it's a hallucination. He'll get slaughtered, right in front of Rukia, because that's what she fears most? This DID happen right as she got caught in his ability...
>Closing your eyes is useless!!! "Happy memories will stay in your heart... But bad memories will remain in your heart much longer." Like past fears suddenly appearing in the dark of the night... Fear you have experienced once... Will become stronger when you close your eyes... and echo at the back of your mind!!! Now.. Your heart will be burned to death by the fear you've been avoiding so far!!
And that's the EXACT moment Byakuya arrives.
Would be quite the twist.
Also would make sense since Ichigo ought to be arriving before Byakuya.
Not necessarily, Byakuya could have fully healed and left the royal realm before Ichigo had completed his RR training.
Then again, isn't this how all shounen battles go?
Maybe Kubo thought the "no fear too cold" was stupid and did a retcon.
